It’s that they now control all the branches of the Federal Government AND our culture.
So they are starting to impose their slow moving hell on us Americans.
But don’t worry about it. It’s for your own good.
I like her self esteem, the pride she takes in her physical strength and resilience. I do think exercising across the entire life course is tremendously important. Have witnessed all the benefits in my very, very old and spry parents.
Moronielles and Gen-Z give a doubtful, dangerous window on their wisdom for the future: Those ages 18 to 29 surveyed thought —
“ Thirty-three percent of those surveyed said that generally social media has had a more positive impact on their ability to express their political voice.
“Forty-eight percent of those polled said they believe that the US government should regulate big tech companies more than it does now, while 68 percent agreed that social media companies should ‘remove misleading claims on their platforms.’
“Additionally, 52 percent of those surveyed found Twitter’s decision to permanently ban former President Donald Trump from its platform ‘necessary.’
“Almost half of young Americans polled believe the US government should do more to regulate big tech companies.
“Thirty-seven percent said they hold Trump ‘fully’ responsible for inciting the deadly Jan. 6 US Capitol riot.
My husband at 76 years young experienced a freak accident and fell out of the bed of his truck while emptying it of wood chips. Diagnosis – a fractured pelvis. Surgery was scheduled by resident doctors, eager to do what would have been a major, delicate surgery. The chief trauma surgeon had a look at the CTscan and said “Hold it. Everything is in place. Let’s try time and therapy.” Thank God for that. My husband is fit, lifts weight, keeps active with yard work and other activities. His recovery, 2 weeks in a rehab facility, 8 weeks of more therapy, was extraordinary, due to his consistent exercise throughout his life.

Did you catch this? A concise synopsis of all that is awful about George W. Bush.
“ Thirty-three percent of those surveyed
Contemporary survey research seems to consist of concocting algorithms to be used in massaging a mess of convenience samples. See, for example, the surveys taken in Maine last year. For months they told us that Susan Collins would lose and it wasn’t even close when she won.
Also, there’s the psyops angle of this. I’m wagering we’ll be seeing masses of ‘polls’ next year showing Democrats winning a rare increase in their representation in Congress, in order to provide partisan Democrats with talking points in the face of manifest fraud.
Art Deco,
I saw that “Bush Republicanism” article this morning but skipped it because I knew it would be infuriatingly true. I skimmed a little of it now, but … anger and nausea ensued.
Reminds me of when Dana Perino had been working with Fox News for 2 or 3 years and it was sometime after the Supreme Court Sebelius decision. She claimed that in her private conversations with George W., he intimated that he felt that the crowning achievement of his administration was the appointment of John Roberts to the Chief Justice position. Imagine that.

By some accounts, Gerald Ford thought the same about John Paul Stevens. One problem with our politics is that the dynamics of competition on our side of the aisle seems to attract and promote men who are vacuous.
From the Epoch Times,
West Virginia is encouraging its younger residents to get the COVID-19 vaccine by offering them a $100 savings bond if they choose to get inoculated.
West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice, a Republican [convert], on Monday announced that vaccinated residents aged 16 to 35 would qualify for the savings bonds, which are to be paid for with money from the CARES Act, last year’s pandemic relief package.
Smart.

Any time a person makes an argument about a population distribution and its characteristics, some genius will pop up with exceptions to it. The problem of course is that in daily life you’re more likely to be affected by characteristics of the Mean and SD — assuming (bigly) that ‘goodness’ of right tail cancels out ‘badness’ of left tail.
This graph is worth saving to show to people who make the NAXALT argument.
The Google Ngram graphs are interesting — as they so often are. It’s always good to be clear in our heads when and where talismanic terminology first came into vogue.

heres an interesting story. When i originally saw it was basically this https://gothamist.com/news/nypd-officer-killed-alleged-drunk-driver-queens
“He’s dead because he was at an accident where people had driven recklessly also with a suspended license,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said. “He’s dead because of other people’s negligence.”
But then you read the nypost and theres what seems to be a throwaway line which might put it in a different light, and definitely would if the story was reversed in any way

To Om, let’s see if you wish to take on that gamble.
If what you say is true, then you should have no problems whatsoever signing on the line. If what you say is untrue, then you are risking quite a lot.
