The Justice Democrats are just following their own game plan
[NOTE: On February 6, 2019, I wrote a post entitled “Pelosi isn’t just worried about Trump; she’s watching her own left flank.” It was about the Justice Democrats and in particular about the people behind them who aren’t elected but are strategists. It spelled out exactly what was going to happen and what in fact has happened since.
It didn’t take an amazing amount of prescience to write the post, because they were saying as much themselves. I’m not sure why not all that much attention was paid to their plan back then by the right, but it wasn’t compared to now.
I’m going to repost it here, with a few small edits.]
I don’t how far to the left Nancy Pelosi really is. Probably much further than she lets on. But my guess is that she’s not too happy about the radical wing of the Democratic Party, the one whose members stayed seated when President Trump said in his SOTU address that the US will never become a Socialist country.
They have a name, too: Justice Democrats. It’s the latest euphemism, I guess, because too much of the American public may have finally caught on to what “progressive” actually means. But who can be against progress and justice, right?
The Justice Democrats aren’t fooling around. And they’re not bothered by many of the considerations that dog their more moderate colleagues. The Justice Democrats (can we call them JDs for short?) must feel the time is right to lay at least a few of their cards on the table and to oppose the party members they call “radical conservatives.”
We know the name of the photogenic Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, but some of the others are quite obscure so far—and by “others” I include those behind her rise. From the article:
“I am talking about the radical conservatives in the Democratic Party,” said Saikat Chakrabarti [AOC’s chief of staff]. “That’s who we need to counter. It’s the same across any number of issues—pay-as-you-go, free college, ‘Medicare for all.’ These are all enormously popular in the party, but they don’t pass because of the radical conservatives who are holding the party hostage.”
Not long ago, this would have been an outlier position even among American liberals. Today, it’s the organizing principle of a newly empowered segment of the Democratic Party, one with a foothold in the new Congress…
Although it’s Ocasio-Cortez who gets all the headlines, she arguably wouldn’t be in Congress in the first place without the group Chakrabarti founded: Justice Democrats, a new, central player in the ongoing war for the soul of the Democratic Party. It was the Justice Democrats who recruited her in a quixotic campaign early on, providing a neophyte candidate with enough infrastructure to take down a party leader. And it is the Justice Democrats who see Ocasio-Cortez as just the opening act in an astonishingly ambitious plan to do nothing less than re-imagine liberal politics in America—and do it by whatever means necessary.
If that requires knocking out well-known elected officials and replacing them with more radical newcomers, so be it. And if it ends up ripping apart the Democratic Party in the process—well, that might be the idea.
“There is going to be a war within the party. We are going to lean into it,” said Waleed Shahid, the group’s spokesman.
Here’s an article by Shahid that maps out the plan in more detail, published in the leftist periodical Nation. This group means business. I suggest you read it.
Will they overplay their hand? I hope so, but I am not the least bit sure that will be the case. The ground has been prepared for them in so many ways, particularly the Gramscian march through education.
“the Lord takes care of babies, fools, and the United States.”
I hope Bismarck is still correct. Depends on the ratio of fools and how many times they get to vote, I suppose. The Trump approach in responding to them is something they’ve never really had to deal with. Why should he attempt to mollify those who will always despise him, after all? Call ’em out.
Looks like Trump’s tweet storm has had the desired effect. The House is going to condemn him, and Pelosi is calling the squad “our sisters”. She, and her fellow Dems are now going to be tied directly to the radicals. Trump has now elevated the 4 harpies to the de facto leadership of the Democratic party. So, in essence, Trump is helping the JDs take over the Democrats
The question remains: how much does the American populace really embrace the radical agenda?
Trump didn’t exact told them to go back and stay there. He pretty much offered them an opportunity to use their superior abilities and ideas to help those who are in need by transforming sh*thole countries where their citizens can’t wait to flee into desirable places to live and raise a family so they don’t have to leave their home to come to a racist place like here. If their ideas prove to be working, then maybe we can think about letting them implement them here.
Reading comments in Neo’s earlier Feb. post I see Neo write she is reminded of Eva Peron by AOC.
Then come July 7, we have it from the Squadster herself: “I know that, like every woman of the people, I have more strength than I appear to have.”
– Evita Perón

So, well judged, Neo, good call.
Poor dears, the Fabulous Four, or is it the Foul Four, have soiled their nappies and Nanny Nancy has come to clean them up and powder their bottoms.
Hurrah! edit is back.
sdferr:
Thanks for finding that comment of mine!
When AOC used that Evita reference, I recalled that I had compared her to Eva Peron much earlier. But I thought it was in a post, and I couldn’t find the post. So I thought maybe I’d thought it but not written it down. But you discovered it in a comment, so thanks.
The Squad from Squalorstains have played the race/ethnic card over and over however reading Trump’s statement he did not refer to a specific race or place, just mentioned what a majority of Americans have been thinking about these nutty, mean, women. Now the Democrats have defined and refined their position without helping any of their potential presidential candidates, they have only churned up all of the reasons to dislike the foursome.
The answer to Trump’s ability to keep playing the right cards I think is a combination of intelligence, showmanship, risk-taking and being habitually lucky.
Trump is teaching the Republicans how to fight.
There are still those who are weak-kneed, and they should be replaced by those with a stronger stomach for this battle.
To quote Lex: “it is not all beer and skittles” in politics.
Time to take the battle directly to the enemies of democracy.
Pleased to have (even accidentally) been able to help neo.
“We know the name of the photogenic Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,”
Oh please, no she is not. Look at those eye brows, that mustache. She looks like Groucho Marx. All she needs is the cigar.

Justice Democrats (for public consumption) or Just us Democrats (in private?)
Meanwhile, someone is in trouble or at least investigation for marrying their brother to gain entry… and citizenship… oh, and boy does she have an interesting family history…
ie. really soon because of this, everyone is going to pay attention to some details that before, they would, and have, ignored…
The questions surfaced again this month in a state probe of campaign finance violations showing that Omar filed federal taxes in 2014 and 2015 with her current husband, Ahmed Hirsi, while she was still legally married to but separated from Elmi.
by Elmi they mean: Ahmed Nur Said Elmi
how many of the dems could actually stand and survive a very close look?
“(can we call them JDs for short?)”
Oh heck no! Let’s call them iJDs, or inJustice Democrats. Or maybe Jacobin Democrats? I read that the Jacobins supported property rights. Does AOC and the squad support them?
I understand Neo was merely using the title that they have given themselves, but … this is how the misperception begins.
TommyJay:
Actually, I was making a pun.
An attempt at a pun, perhaps only understandable if you’re as old as I am and recall a certain expression that was current in NY during my youth.
“JD” was short for “juvenile delinquent.”
See for context: “Gee Officer Krupke”
https://youtu.be/j7TT4jnnWys
sdferr:
Yes.
Gee Officer Krupke, ya gotta understand
Great lyrics.
Sorry I missed it. Pretty good pun, given the squad’s age. Still, isn’t “Justice Democrats” galling?
Watching “To Sir With Love” these days is such a mild experience, it’s shocking. At the time the film embodied a well-intentioned horror of how depraved the kids of the time were.
Sidney Poitier is a substitute teacher of dead-end high school kids in London’s East End. It’s temporary. He’s got plans to move on to a real job as an engineer. He is baffled by the kids’s misbehavior. Finally they push him too far!
Was Poitier physically attacked? Was a kid found OD’d in the bathroom? Was a student knifed at recess? Was a girl raped behind the gym? Was a boy bullied until he committed suicide?
No. Someone burned a sanitary napkin in the class stove! Can you imagine?
So Poitier lays down the law and by graduation the kids have learned Important Lessons About Life. Lulu sings, “To Sir With Love,” and my eyes get wet.
A few thoughts.. I am an enemy of democracy where 2 wolves and 1 sheep vote to decide what is for supper, the lefts idea that the popular vote, not the Electoral College determins the out come. That would the death of the Republic gifted by the Founders.
Huxley, To Sir With Love is a very good story. I saw it in the day. Remember it well.
I thinks of the current SJW goons as todays Weathermen. Violent, incinderary, evil thugs. We have been here before.
I rather like Jacobian Democrats!
Depressingly, the Four Horsewomen of the Apocalypse are apparently raking in donations from this brouhaha. Which was probably the point. At least, the point of that nasty piece of work Chakrabati, who is AOC’s puppet master.
With all that filthy lucre, Ilham Omar (spelling intentional) can fly back first class to Somalia and help her beloved ummah.
Always good to review the arguments (and presentation) of the beleaguered JD responding to the knuckle-dragging Officer Krupke. LOL :>)))!!!
Thanks, sdferr. 😀
De nada, and together we can thank Sondheim and Lennie.
