Protests/riots in Charlotte — 11 Comments

  1. Beverly, I don’t know that that narrative helps a lot. Apparently, by the time she fired she had back-up on the scene, and he was close enough to fire his taser.

I just think that a police officer, and this especially applies when there is more than one on scene, should not shoot until a gun is visible. In this case the advantage would have been with the officer even then; because she already had her gun out and presumably tracking the individual.

I know that I am second guessing; but the stakes are pretty high. The event in Tulsa has exacerbated an already toxic atmosphere, and I suspect that police around the country will pay a price.

I feel for her; but, if that is the story, then she made a bad mistake in judgement. One man died as a result; and flames were fanned.

On another level, what do you do with officers who err in such a manner? If you send them to prison, it is likely a death sentence. I will beat on a dead horse; there simply has to be a major upgrade in recruiting and training.

  2. “One person killed”? The fallacious magic of instant media.
I hear he/it is on life support, not killed, and unclear as to who put the bullet in his/its protesting little head. Maybe another protester.

Black “protesters” seem akin to bluefish, inclined to feeding frenzies. Seen any of the video of their conduct on the Interstate? Looting semis, burning contents; many vehicles abandoned rightly by their drivers fearing for their (white) lives at the hand of these “protesters”.

I agree with Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit: when in such a situation, keep driving, at all costs. Not to hit rioting “protesters” intentionally, but to keep alive. And if one or more is hit, Ah well.

Finally, a word from Loretta the Lynch: she is sending five DOJ “community mediators” to Charlotte.

  3. Beverly:

Yes, I read that last night. If anything, it makes her actions worse, not better.

She was charged today: manslaughter in the first degree.

Again, it’s possible some facts will come out that changes the picture. Right now my opinion is basically that she panicked.

Now, believe me, I wouldn’t want her job for all the world. But there’s no way on earth I’d be asking to have that job, because I know I’m not capable of doing it without panicking.

  4. People should have begun thinking of the Hussein “era” as the Hussein Regime, but of course, they don’t want to, because they still have this “hope in elections” for some reason.

  5. As for riots, they are perfect situations to smoke out instigators, agent provocateurs, and their leaders, to terminate them and their grassroots terrorist organizations too.

But then again, I’m not running this nation’s Police Forces, now am I.

  6. Y or Ynot:

“As for riots, they are perfect situations to smoke out instigators, agent provocateurs, and their leaders, to terminate them and their grassroots terrorist organizations too.”

Trolling for reactions is what that was.

  7. Are you basing that on your authority as the sarcastic troll here?

After all, you would know based on your experience after all.
