More on the Michelle Fields story
It’s not easy to keep up with this one.
Late last night I added an update to this previous post of mine on the subject. But for further updates, I refer you to this post at Legal Insurrection.

It makes you wonder how many little tyrants are out there. Brightbarts head man rapidly turned into a Trump house organ and tried to stamp his own staff’s reporting out. Trump seems to embolden this tendency which was formerly suppressed. God forbid that the fashion will shift to this faux tough guy pose in people
I watched the latest video, I saw no assault. I saw an expressionless Michelle pass by Corey. That’s what I saw. No arm grab. No jolting. No assault.
Need more video as you still cannot 100% see what happened between them. But at this stage, we can at least say ‘exaggeration’ by Michelle. She was not jolted, nor did she almost fall to the ground.
Show me a reporter in that kind of situation who hasn’t been pushed, shoved or stepped on. Corey is no lout. Trump does not have a gang of thugs at his side. I mean, really, a little much, don’t you think?
The Fields issue will resolve itself.
The jury will have access to more information than everyone here put together. I will note however that she hasn’t retracted her claims in the face of video evidence, and two other people have now resigned from Breitbart over it.
That’s not the kind of response you expect from a faker. But as I said, I’ll leave it up to the jury.

“Figs!,” blather the flea magnets, “Figs, so many figs to find!”
More insightful than Fields veracity is the fact that Ben Shapiro has just resigned from Breitbart. Shapiro has been impressive with a consistently reasoned rationale and has argued against the desirability of a Trump nomination. Several other Breitbart staffers, including Fields have now resigned in protest.
Staffers resigning just means they have taken Michelle’s side and didn’t like Breitbart’s reaction. It says nothing about the incident in question, only their employer’s reaction to it.

While I know that it’s not a good idea to judge a blog by its comment section (and I did only read about a dozen of them), this stuck out for me at the Legal Insurection link our host provided in her article.
Between many of those comments and what the LI article was about (Breitbart article mocking Shapiro and Fields for leaving), I get the disturbing impression that the brown shirts are being passed out right now.
P.S. In reference to Neo’s “Get Over It” article, why am I feeling like Trump supporters may be ready to say “Get over it…or else!”?

“Bitch set me up!” – Trump
Latest Fox News clip pretty much shuts this down as a nothing. It’s over. Go back to your lives. Michelle was looking for 15 minutes of fame. On Friday she was claiming this was the worst experience since her father died. Looking at the video, you have to get that she is looking for attention on herself. Literally ZERO reaction from her.

at 0:38 to 0:53, and again at 1:30 to 1:50.
In my opinion this video is consistent with a hard yank by Lewandowski on Fields’ arm.
The slo-mo version doesn’t look nearly as bad (of course, that’s the one all the Trump supporters are showing). The full speed version looks much more damaging to their case.
Disagree that the staffers quitting Breitbart are merely over this event. From what can be pulled form various reports, it has been building for some time.
This event was that last straw, no doubt, as it became clear that the editorial direction wasn’t just about providing a supportive spin for Trump, but that the leaders there were willing to eat their own to fully support Trump, despite where the “truth” may take them.
It only then became clear that they might be next, if they didn’t toe a line that they were already uncomfortable with.
K-E,
Regarding your assertion that “Corey is no lout,” um, yes he is. Big time. His track record at previous positions apparently speaks for itself:

But we can all relax because Trump assures us, repeatedly, that he surrounds himself with “the best people.”
