Obama knew all about ISIS — 25 Comments

  1. You know, the way curious, intellectually-lively people never ask questions about important and interesting things

    Ouch! Very ouch!

  2. Bho probably attended national security meetings as often as he met with his former HHS secretary. And I seriously doubt he actually read more than 50% of the daily briefs. When you are the most sage human to ever golf the earth you merely wait to hear about it on tv or read about it in the papers. Plus, when the objectives of fanatics dovetail with your objectives why worry?

  3. Never interfere when your preferred winner is making gains.

It is the Obama corollary to “never interfere when you enemy is making a mistake.”

  4. Once again we see Obama’s behavior as incomprehensible. Why doesn’t he read the briefings or listen to his military advisers? What is his game? Is he overwhelmed? Why doesn’t someone in the DOD or military speak up about either his incompetence or his overt acts against American interests? It’s a mystery to me. They called Reagan the Teflon President because criticism didn’t seem to stick to him. With Obama there is no real criticism……..yet. I don’t think he can do something half-hearted against ISIS and maintain any semblance of credibility that he has America’s best interests at heart.

  5. And how much was Bush pounded for the August 2001 PDB that had no details whatsoever about AQ’s desire to attack us?

    Big, big difference here.

  6. Why doesn’t someone in the DOD or military speak up about either his incompetence or his overt acts against American interests?

Where do you think the forced retirement and purges of military officers came from?

  7. I’m shocked! Shocked to discover that é˜b☭ma has lied once again! That is after all what he does…

Curious and intellectually-lively people only ask questions about important and interesting things, when they wish to change the dynamics. But as knucklehead points out, when “your preferred winner is making gains”… what is there of relevance to question?

IMO, é˜b☭ma’s behavior isn’t incomprehensible at all. Nor do I think it especially difficult to ascertain, it is in accepting that an American President could actually be acting in a traitorous manner, wherein the difficulty in comprehension lies.

Everything é˜b☭ma is doing, literally everything he is doing is making this country more vulnerable to attack by terrorists. This is indisputable, thus the only question becomes is it intentional or simple incompetence? Since even a stopped clock is right twice a day, were it simple incompetence, é˜b☭ma would have to at least get it right sometimes…

So logic leaves but intention as explanation, though malevolence can be and often is… incompetent in executing that malevolence.

The thing is that é˜b☭ma knows that his implementing an open southern border invites attack and, he has known of ISIS all along and, he is continuing to leave them open. At the very least, more democrat votes mean far more to him than dead American innocents. After all, it’s just our chickens coming home to roost…

His game JJ is the “fundamental transformation” of this country, by any means necessary. That includes inciting a crisis sufficient to result in the necessity for martial law.

And, under martial law, Obama can legally suspend constitutional provisions and guarantees. Our ‘rights’ would literally become those he allows. In such a scenario, censorship and restriction of the internet would be one of the first things he would do, as it has become the primary means of communication and organization between his enemies, which would be you and I and anyone who didn’t vote for him.

No one in the DOD or military is speaking up because they lack the evidence to convict him in the minds of the LIVs.

“Colonel Lakin was a highly decorated Army flight surgeon who had numerous deployments and had 18 years in [two year shy of retirement]. In 2010 he was ordered to deploy to Afghanistan. He refused, based on the fact that there was no proof that Obama met the constitutional requirements to be president, and would not go until such proof of his birth and citizenship was presented to the American people. And he demanded he be court-martialed to bring the issue out. He was, and convicted, with no evidence about Obama being presented. The sentence was dismissal from the service, loss of all pay and benefits, and 6 months in military prison. Which sentence was carried out.” commenter Subotai Bahadur

Some have spoken out J.J. and it has done them and America no good at all. The rot runs deep, the tentacles have spread widely.

  8. PDB aside, events in Syria have been open-source news. The warnings have been sounded from the moment Obama failed to negotiate the next Iraq-US SOFA. The warnings grew much more urgent as the Arab Spring disintegrated with the contribution of Obama’s feckless approach.

All that aside, ISIS took Fallujah in January. You don’t need a PDB to understand that.

  9. Geoffrey Britain: “His game JJ is the “fundamental transformation” of this country, by any means necessary.”

    Paradigm shift.

From Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton:

“Paradigm shifts” Harding said. He knew about paradigm shifts. For the last two decades, they had been the fashionable way to talk about scientific change. “Paradigm” was just another word for a model, but as scientists used it the term meant something more, a world view. A larger way of seeing the world. Paradigm shifts were said to occur whenever science made a major change in its view of the world. Such changes were relatively rare, occurring about once a century. Darwinian evolution had forced a paradigm shift. Quantum mechanics had forced a smaller shift.

One doesn’t need to care about things like integrity, morality, duty, responsibility, or even the details themselves that belong to an obsolete paradigm when one is focused on replacing it with a new paradigm.

  10. Eric,

Precepts like integrity, morality, duty and responsibility are not just words. Nor are they an obsolete, surpassed ‘paradigm’. No more than love and hate are just words. They are descriptions, of aspects of reality. That nearly all of us at one time or another, betray these aspects of reality, affects their reality, not in the least.

Among the many things that é˜b☭ma and the left fail to grasp is that you cannot sustainably substitute an artificially and arbitrarily constructed paradigm for reality.

It always fails, though it may take decades or even centuries to collapse. In the larger scheme of things, in the end, the left and evil cannot win because they reject reality and we exist within reality, not the opposite.

  11. Folks it should be obvious that Barry has no end of contacts with — and inside — ISIS.

    1) It’s raising an army — levée en masse — which makes it impossible for ISIS to NOT recruit Arab agents.

    2) It has at least 2,000 ‘Jordanian’ Arabs in its ranks. This cohort is the core around which al Baghdadi has launched the Mosul offensive.

    3) ISIS has captured a slew of American communications gear — re-purposed from the Iraqi army and from the Jordanian cohort trained to depose Assad. That project is on hold, of course.

Between all of the chatter and the ability to dial it in — see Commando Solo — Barry knows everything — first and early. The totally zany idea that ISIS is not being followed by the White House is bizarre.

Without American, British, KSA, and Jordanian funding, the Jordanian cohort could have never been organized and trained. Ever since this crowd went rogue, ISIS has become overwhelmingly competent.

    What a co-incidence!

Being an international scandal of first magnitude, none of those nations that launched this project permits it to circulate in the popular press.

In Britain, KSA and Jordan — such leakages are heavy crimes resulting in prison terms — if not worse.

In America, the MSM is in Barry’s hip pocket. They are of the team. Naturally not a single American MSM outlet is willing to touch a meme that is EVERYWHERE in the Muslim Middle East.

Not surprisingly, al Baghdadi figures he’s got Barry where he wants him.

At this time, ISIS is shifting towards ejecting Assad from Damascus even as it is pressuring Assad up north, near Turkey.

Eastern Syria is now, free of SAA elements.

The Golan is manned by a skeleton cadre backed up by long range howitzers — that are normally ranged on Damascus. Yes, dimensions are that tight.

By the commentary here, more the lack of it, I can see that the commentariat is awaiting the American press to announce the obvious. You’ve got a L O N G wait coming. Until the truth is outed, nothing is going to make sense.

I’m amused by the Fox network. No commentator can make heads or tails out of Barry’s inactivity. None appreciate his jihadi back-fire (proxy) army.

One might note the supreme confidence that Barry has while in Estonia. Everything is starting to work out the way he wants. Everyone else is getting agitated. They don’t have his intel feed. And they certainly have not tumbled to his Cardinal Richelieu style grand strategy: Baffle them with Jihad.

Mo’s dicta: “All warfare is founded on deceit” [paraphrased] must draw out the best in Barry. For the boy is deceit personified. He even believes his own lies, his own myth.

[He’s probably banned pins from the White House, lest they prick his bubble; pinheads are another matter entirely.]

Barry’s got to be VERY happy with Islamabad.

As long predicted (by moi) the Pakistani Army (aka the deep government) would be economically gutted once Barry backed out of the Taliban’s cul-de-sac.

Without ISAF (America’s) protection monies (the Punjabi shakedown racket) Pakistan financially implodes.

Naturally this takes the shape of the civilians bearing all the pain — while the boys with the guns try to ride it out. Good luck with that strategy.

Again, it an exponentially increasing Muslim population that is TOTALLY dependent upon Western food stuffs — for political stability. A ten percent shortfall is toxic, if not politically lethal.

No-one can stay ahead of such a snowball.

  12. Hey, give the guy a break! He’s got important decisions to make: let’s see, Hawaii or Martha’s Vineyard? Sand wedge or 8-iron? Titleist or Wilson?

  13. In 2007 I had a real bad feeling about what was coming, and nothing that’s occurred in the ensuing years has assuaged that one bit. I’ve become very intolerant of listening to people who ought to know better continuously use terms like “incompetent” “out of his league” “disinterested”. I heard it again on a radio program the other day, when a caller stated that he felt there was deliberate malfeasance, and this well known conservative thinker and host dismissed his concerns, claiming the shadowy 44th as “jv” bush-league”. Too many coincidences, too many dots that connect.

  14. Little sign above BHO’s bathroom mirror:
    Defaco Ergo Sum.

But, then, he’s rarely there to read it.

  15. blert,

Your position is Obama is purposefully using the terrorists as a proxy force in a kind of 1980s Afghan mujahideen redux? And taking a step back from using the terrorists, Obama deliberately trained, equipped, and empowered the neo-mujahideen terrorists for the anti-autocrat campaign?

What’s Obama’s long-range strategy? Note: We didn’t have a long-term strategy regarding the Afghan mujahideen in the anti-Soviet fight.

Generally speaking, Obama has shown little to no interest in building the long-term peace:

  16. Thanks for the link, Eric. It’s a well written philosophical piece. My question is the same as Hank Gaffney’s (from the comments). What are the nuts and bolts of this idea? My idea is that our military must be so unquestionably strong as to discourage competition from those who want to use conquest or subversion to gain their ends. With that piece in place, our diplomats and spies can then operate with more confidence and firmness when dealing with the space between war and peace. Of course that’s a mute discussion now, what with the Obama policy of gutting our military.

I agree with you that blert is positing that Obama is trying to replicate Charlie Wilson’s War to defeat the USSR in Afghanistan. That is, Obama wanted to use a proxy jihadi army to overthrow Assad. Unlike Charlie Wilson’s War, the blowback is occurring before the goal has been reached. If this is true, I can understand Obama’s being stunned by the operation spinning out of control. It also explains a lot about his unwillingness to get aggressive against them.

  17. JJ,

If blert is positing what we think he is and he’s correct, then Obama is actually sincerely trying to achieve US policy aims, but he and his decision-making circle are parodies of the Left’s neocon-strawman come to life with stupefyingly poor judgement.

As frustrated as I am by Obama, it’s hard to believe he’s that bad and could be surrounded by advisors that are that bad, too.

  18. Eric

Allen West has a post up that runs ten pages.

He’s going far, far, far, beyond my conjectures — which are all based on the open media — particularly media from the Middle East and Fleet Street.

    1) He has crisp evidence that Barry and Hillary started their project — in a lawful manner — in Libya.

    2) Then they decided to take the show on the road — to Syria.

    But Syria abuts Israel… think AIPAC… =>
think CIA + SoS + WH = let’s do it on the down low.

    3) Then the entire operation blows up, first in Benghazi…

    4) Then in Syria + Iraq.

West alleges that Stevens was actually 100% CIA — with an ambassadorial cover. Libya didn’t have ANY slot for conventional ‘ambassadoring’ anyway.

    5) He further alleges that the key players were all too soon to be linked to AQ franchises.

With the result that Barry’s ‘best buddies’ ended up on America’s terrorist want list — with one currently in custody.

Bing/ Google Operation Zero Footprint and Allen West.

Everything is worse than even I figured.

This goes wildly beyond Iran-Contra/ Charlies War/ or anything Ike or Kennedy ever dreamed of.
