For example, I have little doubt that these two guys playing nicey-nicey absolutely detest each other.
But hey, Obama finally made it to Israel. And he’s trying to reassure Netanyahu that he’s got his back:
Oh yeah, he’s got his back alright. He’s trying to decide where to stick the knife.
“And he’s trying to reassure Netanyahu that he’s got his back”
No,he’s not. Not one whit. He’s measuring Israel for a casket.
Dan Greenfield, as usual, has this one:
http://sultanknish.blogspot.com/2013/03/a-bloody-endless-peace.html
“War has an endpoint. Peace does not. A peace in which you are constantly at war can go on forever because while the enthusiasts of war eventually exhaust their patriotism, the enthusiasts of peace never give up on their peacemaking.
“Warmongers may stop after a few thousand dead, but Peacemongers will pirouette over a million corpses.
“As you read this, Obama is probably stumbling through some ceremony or speech in Israel. The speeches all say the usual things, but there really is only one purpose to the visit. There really ever only is one purpose to these visits. The revisiting of the endless peace war.”
vanderleun: yes, of course. He’s trying to reassure Netanyahu that he’s got his back, while simultaneously measuring him for a casket.
Slightly (or entirely?) off topic, but in some article I read a few days ago, the Russians are confused as to whether the US is mucking up the Middle East and turning it into a region of unstable and bloody anarchy on purpose, as some sort of brilliant and diabolical power play……..or if the US middle east policy is just flat out stupid.
It gave me a chuckle, because I was reminded of your old “is he a fool or knave” discussions from a few years ago.
I think the article about the Russians was at PJM.

See Spengler.
The photo says exactly what this trip is all about. BHO, with his hand on Bibi’s back, is showing his alpha side, dominating Bibi on Bibi’s own turf. I’ve got news for BHO– Bibi does not easily submit to anyone, especially someone like BHO, whose number Bibi had for years now. He’ll go along with the game while BHO’s in town, but as soon as he leaves Bibi will do what Bibi always does: protect his countrymen, and his country, as he sees fit. He’s also much better at it than Barry.

That’s exactly how I read that photo too!
And, I agree with you as well that Netanyahu is much better at everything than Obama (except for being a schmuck – nobody beats Obama at that)
Conrad Says:
“Oh yeah, he’s got his back alright. He’s trying to decide where to stick the knife.”
When I first saw the picture my first free association thought was that Bibi was thinking he could break this clown’s arm in two places in less than two seconds… knee would be next; + 1 sec. Anyway; talk about being forced to suffer fools…
reflection; being touched like that, by an enemy, is patronizing and a form dominance… I’m going to touch you and you can’t do anything about it… ha.
The physical version of a taunt…
(Some people explained that’s was the sorta game behind Bush giving people nicknames.. a power game / taunt… I didn’t buy it since he did it with people he liked).
somewhere there is the comparison picture of obama as dopehead 20 yr old and Bibi as paratrooper roughly =20 yrs old.somewhat telling.
