IMO the “affordable care act” will morph because it is unworkable and unsustainable in the long run. The battle will be about the nature and magnitude of the changes that have to come. The big government crowd will push to replace it with “single payer”, and if there are any politicians that want to get the government out of the health care business, they have to push for patient skin in the game and restrict public health care only for those who are indigent. Who has the upper hand will depends upon whether we have a government financial crisis or not.
It will be “over” when the USD is no longer the global reserve currency. 2-5 year tops.
Has there ever been a bill so ill-conceived and yet so large in scope? At gunpoint, I would choose a public option over this mess. It would get companies out of the health insurance biz and provide a massive boost to employment (health benefits are about 10-20% of salary). Sure, it would bankrupt the nation, but we’re already well on the way there.
None of this was really about healthcare. It was just a bill designed to allow the Left more power. Power which they needed to rewrite the US Constitution and destroy all the enemies in front of them.
Until people realize that that this gives them a card, not a doctor, they’ll support it. It’s free!
Just saw a scooter store ad: get your scooter at little or no cost to you. Add: Just to your neighbors.
