Home again
I’m back!
The redeye flight was fine and uneventful, just as a flight should be–but of course I’m exhausted, although I also slept a few hours in an actual bed on my return.
The garden’s overgrown. The mail has to be picked up. The bags need to be unpacked. Groceries must be bought. My mother should be visited. And on and on and on….
I’m taking the rest of the day (evening?) off from blogging.
See you tomorrow!
Too bad you’ve left so soon. And know what? Not only is Seattle expected to have a sunny weekend, but all next week is supposed to be gorgeous, too.
(Can’t say it too loudly . . . each time a Seattleite says stuff like this, ten more people move here.)
It is horrible, actually. Rains ten months of the year, nonstop. And the other two months are full of snow. Really.
I missed my redeye flight back East from a trip out West to visit a relative due to some car trouble on the way to the airport. They wanted $700 to reschedule it, and the initial round trip flight was only $260. Instead I improvised a trip back across country, living my own version of the movie “Planes, Trains, and Automobiles” (and, in my case, also a bus). It was a lot more fun and I spent considerably less than $700.
Kilroy was here
Wilkommen…
I am outraged! How dare you madam! Do you mean to tell us that you had NO strategy for returning home? You obviously had an exit plan leaving the house! Mail needing to picked up, mother needing to be visited, an empty fridge, yes the list goes on and on and on. My mind reels thinking of your neglected garden. This neo-con thing has gone too far. The horror! And what about us? What about our needs? Did we need to know that you slept in an “actual” bed? No! Have you no shame? Why subject us to these petty misdirections? Was your redeye flight really “fine and uneventful”? What arrogance leads you to believe this is how it should be? What elitistism! And yet you want us to believe you’re exhausted, too tired to meet our needs! Where is confud when you need hesheit? Confud’s not here, you’re not here…coincidence…I don’t think so.
