David Brooks on the Roberts hearings
I had no idea David Brooks was a comedian, but this column
of his is pretty funny stuff (of course, he had some awfully good material to work with).
Is it possible that David is any relation to Albert or Mel? (And yes, I know, I know–Albert’s real name is actually Albert Einstein.)
One of the weird things people overlook is how the fact that if they don’t want Judges deciding things like abortion and Presidential elections, why the heck did they bring the cases to them in the first place?
And if they didn’t, why don’t they go and find the ones who did and complain and carp to their faces.
I found the column to be pretty humorous too…and from the NYT, no less!
Troutsky, “Im ready for lots of chuckles. “We will stay as long as it takes”
I don’t see the humor. Hopefully, you’re just skeptical but it sure sounds like snide cynicism. The inference in your posting is that the admin/Bush will “cut and run”.
Not possible. NO is a US city not some foreign destination. Bush could not even if he wanted too. It’s like having a downed tree in your front yard. Ya gotta clean it up.
I actually got more chuckles out of that than the entire Bohos In Paradise. But now comes the Presidents address from The Big Easy (could be the Speech Of His Presidency) like Nixons Checkers speech. Im ready for lots of chuckles. “We will stay as long as it takes”
Very odd: That Tribute.ca page on Albert Brooks makes a big deal out of his having directed Broadcast News, when it was actually directed by James L. Brooks, who also produced The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Taxi and The Simpsons during his long (and still very much ongoing) career in Hollywood.
