Kash Patel is the new FBI head — 16 Comments

  1. Yeah, he was another favorite of mine. Try to keep up with the nominees approved and/or still awaiting approval – 6 left?

Thune and Vance have done an excellent job of getting so many approved…

  2. I think there were some senators who were helpful in taking the nominees around to meet everyone and get them prepared for the confirmation meetings. I think Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma was one of them.

  3. I hope the GOP in Kentucky is smart because they have a relatively popular Democrat as Governor. Ran Paul and MAGA have to come up with a winner this time in Kentucky for the other Senate seat.

As far as Mitch, I won’t miss him or my Harvard Business School classmate, Elaine Chao, Mitch’s wife much either.

  4. And Mitch McConnell won’t be running for re-election. Is there anyone on earth who’s sad about that?

    Elaine Chao?

  5. Give credit where credit is due: we don’t have Merrick Garland on the SC because of Mitch.

  6. I hope the R party is ramping up s very strong defense of McConnell’s seat. They cannot waste a minute searching for the best possible candidate to fill his seat! You can bet that the Dems have been working on filling this seat for at least a year. I hope the Republicans have been at least as astute and rigorous !

Here in MT we have one “official” who is looking way past the 2016 election to 2018 !

  7. Justice, not vengeance.

(To be sure, for the paranoid Democrats, there is no difference.)

  8. Patel is going to need a version of the Praetorian Guard, if only against set-ups from in house.

  9. “Give credit where credit is due: we don’t have Merrick Garland on the SC because of Mitch.”

This account cannot be overdrawn, but let’s just say the interest earnings on it are minuscule.

  10. Daniel Cameron, would be a good replacement, now wil the McConnell machine sabotage it,back in 2012, they tried to prevent Rand Paul in the primary, if memory serves, that was an era when virtue signaling was a premium, re Murdock and a whole host of other challengers, because they wanted Obamacare to pass,

Imagine if the Bureau spent time and money dealing with real threats, instead of the games with General Flynn and Carter Page, among others,

  11. “ADDENDUM: And Mitch McConnell won’t be running for re-election. Is there anyone on earth who’s sad about that?”

The CCP?! Time to activate the backup.

  12. “trust” the FBI.

“We’re from the FBI and we have a couple of questions.”

“Name’s not Richard Jewell, go away.”

“I identify as a female Olympic gymnast, so I’m invisible. Go away.”

“Watch out for the Claymore wire.”

Gonna need a LOT of television seasons with the fibbies as good guys. Maybe a generation or so. And that presumes Patel can keep them from their usual stuff like trying to get a Texas art show shot up.

“Are you? Tell you what, buddy. If you want to bust a dance move, I’ll pick up your piece. I was Infantry, so it would be safer.”
