I’m back from surgery
The cataract was removed successfully, the surgeon seemed satisfied, and now I’m taking it easy. My vision is still funky, but it’s very early yet and the next few days will tell the tale.
Many many thanks for all your good wishes.
Hurray! Please rest well.
Great news, mind the drops! 🙂
God bless you Neo.
Get well soon!
Looking forward to having you back, Neo, as soon as you’re recovered. You will be missed until then !

Did not know. Glad all went well. My wife has had two cataract surgeries and for her it was a relatively fast recovery. I wish the same for you.
Good to hear.
Excellent news. Please get the rest you need and don’t worry about blogging. We’ll be here when you get back.
Great news!
Now take it easy on yourself. We … well at least I … promise to be good. ?
Great news!
Best of luck, and take it easy.
When you get back home, maybe the mud will be dry. Either way, the news will keep going on, and its intersection with reality will keep getting smaller. No way to stop that tide, so we’ll have to enjoy it.
Good news!
Excellent news!
Wishing you a speedy recovery….

Excellent.
Glad you are doing well. Had both my eyes done about 10 years ago. Having worn glasses since grade school, it was a couple of years before I stopped reaching for them in the morning. I have one long distance lens and one near distance, which has worked well for me. Sending you some of those invisible flowers, not quite sure what the pixels smell like, so please imagine your favorite scent.
?
Glad you are doing well!
Glad to hear this. Get well soon!
AF, no doubt that would account for your unique insights…and ability to see both the forest and the trees?….
Excellent news!
Prayers continue Neo.
Yea! Now, put your feet up, have a cup of tea (or whatever your drink of choice is) and rest up easy.
Can we assume that the surgery only removed cataracts and not that apple?
Rest and let the recovery go forward.
Soon this will all be behind you! Prayers for a quick and complete recovery.
We will all be here when you feel like returning.
To help things along, here’s a bit of Bee Gees from 1999.

Pleased to hear it. Hope the fare your son’s family is cooking for you is agreeable.
Continued good wishes for speedy recovery!
Please rest.
More!
So happy that it seems ok – but you eyesight is far more important than us blog readers.
My son took a few days before his eyes were stable enough to be on the computer – this is a good time for podcasts. Maybe Glenn Loury? Here he is for only 26 min at Hillsdale.

I don’t like podcasts much, but I’ve been many days in bed for various reason, and I find I can listen in bed OK, not trying to do anything else, and not ready to sleep.
OK, sometimes one puts me to sleep.
😉
Glad to hear everything went well! Hoping for a speedy recovery.
Good to hear. Get well soon.
Best wishes for a speedy and painless recovery.

Glad to hear the surgery went well and hoping for a successful and speedy recovery!
Thank you for sharing the news. Now, as others have emphasized, rest and relax. We, the neophiles, problem not to solve any of the world’s problems until you return full strength to provide insight and oversight.
Neo!
Don’t strain your eyes. Take a break or cut back on blogging! Be smart. Follow doctor’s orders.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery. I had both sides done about 12 years ago, 2 years apart. I declined the variable lenses as too gimicky and settled for fixed lenses and reading glasses. The surgery was done by a personal friend who was an investigator evaluating the soft lenses when they were first available. He decided they were the coming thing and bought stock in the company. He got all of his Armenian family to do the same. They did very well.
Good news! Hope the funky vision clears in due course.
Yay!!
Glad to hear the surgery went well, neo.
my comment @ 10:11am should read,
“We, the neophiles, promise
problemnot to solve any of the world’s problems until you return full strength to provide insight and oversight.”Even with post surgery, blurred vision neo would have been bugged I didn’t put more effort into proofreading.
Eva Marie,
When I saw your link to the Bee Gees tribute band I thought we could start a Gofundme to send neo to Vegas, but
https://youtu.be/h0HjNqxIJcE
Seem like nice guys. It’s great to bands keep good music alive. But I find the cover band’s vocals fall quite a bit short. Granted, Robin, Maurice and Barry where very gifted vocalists, so most mortals would fall short.
Rufus: just clicked on your link. Nooo. That sounded awful. Let’s forget Bee Gees in Vegas.
Good to hear. Thanks for keeping us posted.
May your recovery be quick
Just sending you well wishes. Take your time getting back here! We will wait….
All the best!
Welcome Back Neo. Good to hear you are still alive and that it went tolerably, and God speed with the recovery. I know we often differ and even argue fiercely on this website, but I doubt there are many of us who don’t care for you.
Take care.
Good to read of the good news. Easy does it, now . . .

Neo, very good news!!
As om said,
Great news, mind the drops! ?
And enjoy well earned rest.
HUZZAH!
Rufus T. Firefly:
No one can cover the Bee Gees properly – their voices are one of a kind, their blend is one of a kind – but I think these two groups do okay. Both are families. But listening to them demonstrates that no one can really sound like the Bee Gees.
The Reo Brothers.
A group called “Jive Talkin.” Similar to that Australian group.
But the way, the Maurice impersonator in that Australian group really looks like Maurice.
Cornhead:
Yesterday’s posts and today’s posts were written before my surgery and scheduled to be published. The only posts I’ve written since surgery are the very brief updates about the surgery itself.
It’s only tonight that I’ve been actually working for any length of time at the computer. My doctor says the computer is okay on the second day. But I’m taking it way easy with it compared to usual, and plan to limit myself in that way for at least the next few days.
Art Deco:
Actually, I’m with an in-law. But food is no problem at all – lots of great groceries and takeout.
