I think the answer to Evangeline Lilly’s question about masculinity and femininity is crystal clear — 26 Comments

  1. Fortunately, the three female grand children I have who were raised by normal parents are all feminine and pretty. One of my daughters was a Bernie voter until she became a mother. The transformation has been amazing. Her daughter will be 4 in August and loves dolls and dresses. We are visiting this week. She asked her grandmother for a “pink dress with sparkles and sequins” next. She is probably the best dressed kid her age in Los Angeles.

I have another son who has two daughters but the less said the better.

  2. The answers to such questions are blatantly obvious to Conservatives (and many moderates too) but Liberals are often so self deluded and rigid in their thinking that they can’t reach these obvious conclusions. And since many of them never even communicate or have any sort of relationship and generally have disdain for people outside of their political bubble, they often experience these bizzare cognitive dissonances. They can’t seem to deal with reality partly because they’re never really challenged in their thinking.

But to be fair to Evangeline Lilly here, I suspect she fully knows these answers, she’s just being Socratic with her audience in (perhaps vain) hopes of getting them to reach these conclusions.

  3. And why might the left be doing what Lilly describes? The goal is to break down the old values that have to do with family and society, and celebrate those who cross what the left sees as those barriers.

But why break those barriers? Because the left sees conservatives and traditional families as perhaps the main impediment to transforming American society.

And it’s working! Many young people seem to like socialism. Religion has been replaced by government on all levels of society. Government is the answer to the problem of unfairness in life.

    We shall be harmonized.

  4. Well, there is some push aback here and there. So far it is subdued, and akin to pushing a boulder up a steep hill.
But, unless one is a complete pessimist (and I am close but not yet there), he/she/them has to believe that there will be a cultural revolt.

If there is not, I am tempted to say that the path society is on will lead to the extinction of the human race. But that is not true because “primitive” cultures–if you will excuse the characterization–continue to reproduce at near alarming rates. So, in fact, it is more likely that that the race would endure while civilization regressed. Then, If anyone bothers to write history a couple of hundred years from now the American era will be noted as the high water mark of civilization.

I have no idea what the counter-culture crowd envisions, but I expect that the final product if their machinations prevailed would be, as is often the case, unintended consequences.

  5. I am trying to figure out why some transgender women (i.e.., the very effeminate male homosexuals) portray real women as caricatures of real women – grotesque imitations or mis-representations of them; Dylan Mulvaney is a good (or is it bad) example of this.

I can sort of understand why drag queens dress and act as they do; because they are in the entertainment business (but this is no excuse to have them “entertain” school kids – and where are the parents of the kids??).
But I can’t figure out f***ots (am I allowed to use that noun?) like Mulvaney.
Is he trying to attract male lovers or what?
I have never seen a real female – in person or on TV /movies – that acts like or displays the “female” mannerisms he displays.
Exactly who or what is he trying to emulate? It’s certainly not real females.

And if you look at all the female sex symbols from the movies or TV – going back in time as far as you want – you will not find (at least, I didn’t) any of them that remotely display any of the “female” mannerisms he displays.

As for the less ostentatious transgender women (i.e., male homosexuals), like that swimmer guy or that fellow who just won a big bicycle race or that weightlifter guy – all competing in women’s sporting events – how on earth can they not be embarrassed and feel totally humiliated by deciding they should compete against real females.
Do these people not have any sense of probity?
I guess they don’t; in which case they must be the amongst the most egocentric, self-absorbed individuals on earth.

  6. Yep, Lilly is a free thinker and veered from ‘The Message’ regularly during the Covid Era going as far as to protest against mandates.

  7. I really liked Lilly in Lost, and I thought she was great in the LotR prequel The Hobbit trilogy.

I hope as a Canadian she’s not getting herself in trouble. Such statements up north are treated a bit more harshly than south of the 45th. Tucker was supposed to have a Fox Nation series on “Tyranny in Canada”, but of course that’s been cancelled.

  8. CPAC Europe– New Europe are fighting the same culture wars we are, but they’re fighting it head-on.

    Tucker’s brief comments at 1:50.

Fast forward through Dr. Turley’s commercial to 3:40.

Christian nationalism– Georgian Prime Minister at 5:10 “traditional Christian family values”

Dr. Steve Turley: “If you’re going to fight the culture wars, you’ve got to have a culture”

Director General of Hungry at 6:45. “Conservatism is not an ideology like Socialism. It’s common sense.”

You Won’t Believe What Tucker Carlson Said In Hungary!!!

  9. My guess is Evangeline lives in a Leftist bubble so all of her surrounding people believes at least outward this crap masculine women and feminine males are the normal.
I like her acting since Lost

  10. For what purpose, do you think, does the Left want to break down the old values that have to do with family and society? What does the Left want instead?

    I’m genuinely asking.

  11. one of the best things about lost, they want an eloi population, they don’t want a more resistant force like the yangs in the omega glory,

  12. “What does the Left want instead?”

Our culture in the US has been based on Christianity. Those values are taught in the family. By destroying the family values, the intent is to destroy that connection. By destroying a belief in God (which has been the underlying basis for Christian family values), the State becomes the only determinant of right and wrong. What the State says is what the populace will do. See Russia.

    Communism is the ultimate goal.

  13. If Communism is the ultimate goal — what is the ultimate goal of Communism?

Paul Johnson asked this question about Lenin in “Modern Times”; words to the effect, “It isn’t clear what Lenin wanted to accomplish . . . what was the purpose of an all-powerful state?

Maybe Orwell was right. Power for its own sake.

But that still prompts a question. Maybe it a mystery — one of those questions that can never be answered.

  14. the promise is to bring heaven on earth, but instead they unleash hell, allied by this modern day lysenkoism, that denies biology, confident men and women are needed to build families communities et al

  15. When you see a 26-year-old man, who self-identifies as a “girl”, invited to the White House and praised by the president as “courageous”–what do you expect?
And to answer IrishOtter49…the left seeks depopulation of the planet to save us from the ravages of man-made climate change.

  16. its not merely hollywood or media or corporate america, but all of them, looks at how that marine’s life is being destroyed for doing his duty, look at rittenhouse, he stood up while others did not, gina carano, is another who will not submit to the overlords, cyborg pharmaceutical or trans,

  17. For Dylan Mulavaney or Richard Levine or Bob Tur or Col. Pritzker it’s not about trying to get lovers. That’s hardly a real option for any of them. Rather, their motive is some kind of inner, personal, or narcissistic motive or drama. Dress-up and costume play wouldn’t be such a problem if it didn’t become an ideology and a movement.

“We” is America — in deeper ways than some might imagine. It’s a very large part of the younger generation. It’s our government. It’s even corporations. My criticism of trans ideology was that it took the old stereotypes of masculinity and femininity too seriously, rather than think of masculinity and femininity in broader, more inclusive terms. Lilly goes further in her critique. Maybe she’s right.

Why are they — or we — promoting masculine women and feminine men? I’m not sure there is an endgame or that people really think things out. Politics today seem to be on autopilot. Zombie politics. The old order — the patriarchy — is taken to be the enemy, and any attack on it wins support.

  18. Re. Neo’s “kemosabe” : Enjoying “Key Largo” on TMC just last night, I noted Jay Silverheels — Tonto — cast as a local Seminole. The voice is a dead giveaway.

  19. Normal men and women do not want someone who empathizes with them, reduces them to a gender construct, but considers them equal in rights and complementary in Nature/nature by Her choice to share a life and family…

Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin
Dance me through the panic till I’m gathered safely in
Lift me like an olive branch and be my homeward dove
Dance me to the end of love

Leonard Cohen – Dance Me to the End of Love

  20. I think a lot of what we are seeing today is the West’s version of the Chinese Cultural Revolution. Sometimes I see in the Fox News website comments someone claiming that the whole transgender thing is designed to distract us from what is really going on. ( Presumably, that person means economically, politically…). I have replied that it is all part of the same war, with the goal of transforming society.

  21. My observation is they are turning women into the worst kind of men and men into the worst kind of women. YMMV

  22. IrishOtter49 -Cultural Marxism is the newer breakdown of civilization, moving from Marx class warfare to now race and gender. It destroys families and keep the protected class hooked on the government protection.

  23. cb,

That site really confused me for awhile. For those of us with some aviation background, MGTOW always means for me, Maximum Gross Takeoff Weight. I wonder what OldFlyer thought.

  24. I do think it’s driven by the idea of putting everything anthropic into a blender, so to speak, and getting just one homogenized “human” out of it all. Maybe it’s that a lot of folks who are particularly driven about this sort of levelling or homogenization are that way because they never got to a point of sufficient comfort or ability to deal with the sexually bifurcated society that naturally exists.
