If you believe this poll, the anti-racism cult hasn’t made inroads on too many Americans
At least, not yet:
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 75% of American Adults think the term “racism” refers to any discrimination by people of one race against another. Just 15% say it refers only to discrimination by white people against minorities. These findings have changed little in surveys for the past several years.
That’s encouraging, because it seems that most Americans hold to the old, tried-and-true, logical definition of “racism” rather than the Marxist, divisive, and might I say racist one touted by the anti-racism trainers.
And although there’s a slight difference in the numbers by race, it’s not all that different, and no race is characterized as majority racist:
Eighteen percent (18%) say most white Americans are racist. But 25% believe most black Americans are racist. Fifteen percent (15%) think most Hispanic-Americans are racist, while nearly as many (13%) say the same of most Asian-Americans.
More at the link. The poll was taken just a few days ago, so it presumably reflects recent events. Then again, do people tell the truth to pollsters? Especially about matters such as racial attitudes? I don’t answer polls about anything anymore, but then again I never did.
Here’s a description of the methodology:
…[A]utomated polling systems use a single, digitally-recorded, voice to conduct the interview while traditional firms rely on phone banks, boiler rooms, and operator-assisted technology…
Calls are placed to randomly-selected phone numbers through a process that ensures appropriate geographic representation. Typically, calls are placed from 5 pm to 9 pm local time during the week. Saturday calls are made from 11 am to 6 pm local time and Sunday calls from 1 pm to 9 pm local time.
To reach those who have abandoned traditional landline telephones, Rasmussen Reports uses an online survey tool to interview randomly selected participants from a demographically diverse panel.
After the surveys are completed, the raw data is processed through a weighting program to ensure that the sample reflects the overall population in terms of age, race, gender, political party, and other factors. The processing step is required because different segments of the population answer the phone in different ways. For example, women answer the phone more than men, older people are home more and answer more than younger people, and rural residents typically answer the phone more frequently than urban residents.
I’m surprised anyone answers these things anymore.
Twitter is not America. Twitter is not America.
This can’t be said enough and every Republican and every business must realize this.
Twitter is not America.

I don’t think so either. Democrats are going to regret hitching their wagon to the anti-racism star.
A recent poll says “62% of Americans Say They Have Political Views They’re Afraid to Share.”
https://www.cato.org/publications/survey-reports/poll-62-americans-say-they-have-political-views-theyre-afraid-share
62%, for the math challenged, is a substantial majority.
“…regret…”
They won’t have to regret anything if they can ram through mail-in balloting by election day. 2020.
(Their ultimate “insurance policy”.)
“They won’t have to regret anything if they can ram through mail-in balloting by election day. 2020.”
Which is why this damn virus won’t go away any time soon. Gotta keep the people good and scared.
Diversity dogma, not limited to racism, sexism, and other class-based judgments derived from low-information attributes, should, ironically, be rejected with extreme prejudice. There is no room for diversity in a civilized society. While it’s not quite the wicked solution, it is a close cousin.
Oh, and there is a not so nuanced difference between affirmative action and affirmative discrimination.

Of the major pollsters, I trust Rasmussen the most.
“You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.” arguably, America’s wisest President.
Currently, only 40% of households in the U.S. have a landline. One might assume that this segment of the population would tend to be older and less influenced by social media.
Yet, their survey methodology relies primarily on phone interviews via landlines. It does say that they use an “online survey tool” to capture the rest. Needless to say, I am highly sceptical.
It really is a mystery what is going on in the American collective psyche at this point – even more so for an expatriate like myself. The central mystery to me is that the Democrats have openly and unselfconsciously proposed going outside the rules right from the start when they called for the Electoral college voters to be unfaithful to their mandate and vote for Hillary. I was truly shocked at the time, but it has excallated nonstop since culminating in the current apparent willingness to let chaos reign in the apparent belief that it will convince the electorate to throw Trump out on his bum…bum…bum…bum like Pooh Bear going down the stairs. My own relatives shout at me that Croney, Flapper and Mennen After Shave are heroes and my friends regularly rehash Raquel Madcow’s talking points to uplift, civilise and communize me. The opposition seems totally unaware that their tactics might backfire – and perhaps they won’t. I can’t tell. But as my late cousin Fred observed from his garage in Ontario California about 10 years ago: “If the American people ever wise up to what has been done to them, there will be Hell to pay.”
Most of islam is peaceful and moderate.
Just 3% is enough for war.
Lorenz:
As many others have noted, here and elsewhere, the American collective psyche is under brazen assault by informational thugocracy.
I give you this, from an AP story today.
Note that “non-profit” AP, which does in fact earn a profit, has >1300 member newspapers whose task it is to influence Americans.
The head is “Police Declare Riot at Protests, Make Arrests”. A bias signal.
It contains this, about the new law removing Seattle’s “police from using pepper spray, blast balls and similar [non-lethal-Ed.] weapons (sic) from the police”.
Further, “The law intended to de-escalate tensions between police and demonstrators.” How? By semi-disarming the cops, leaving them with only lethal firearms against the violence? By my estimate 40 to 50 cops have been injured, 21 on one recent riot occasion.
And this: “Confrontations that have largely been peaceful but were occasionally marked by violence, looting and highway shutdowns.”Largely peaceful? Occasionally violent? Blatant lies.
Omg, I got a political poll call today. In NY, we never get political poll calls!
All I felt willing to commit to was telling them I will definitely vote, (pollster used the phrase “if it was safe,”) but declined to give specific answers about anything else, ie who, my political stance, whether I would split the ticket, how I felt about single party control of the state, and an avalanche of highly charged issues ie. race, police, police brutality, riots, bail reform, crime, the pandemic, the economy, education, etcetera, etcetera.
Finally, I asked to discontinue the poll, telling the pollster the questions were making me feel uncomfortable.
I believe that this has barely made a dent in real homes… Oh, students are aware the way your aware of the weather and bring an umbrella just in case… or you read pravda and itsvetsia so you did not say the wrong thing….
but for the most part, most homes are not college bastions, most college kids dont talk about their day, and most people, do not even have the stimulus (ie. impetus?) to think if they are racist or not, or even think about such things at all as they go through their day… they also would not think they were unless they were openly and with malice decided they were (like skinheads).
they, like most people in the world, go about their lives and only become aware, concerned or engaged when the irritant or stimulus crosses a threshold and they have no choice but to waste time on the BS that they dont want to waste time on otherwise…
this is why people have to protest (or used to)… in fact, if it wasnt for a dictator wanting things from their subjects and ordering them around, one could imagine an invisable dictator that had tons of control and ability, but if not overtly exercised, most would not notice it much or consider it (this is what the CCP is shooting for on some level but power and negative leadership (having to feel it) being what it is, wont)…
Would make for a great story…
The invisible/silent dictator..
Notice that “racism” is not defined. Here’s the DDG (DuckDuckGo) def:
n. The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.
n. Discrimination or prejudice based on race.
n. The belief that each race has distinct and intrinsic attributes.
Only idiots are not racists – blacks have more melanin than whites. This is a distinct and intrinsic attribute. There are others. Racial discrimination, especially thru laws and policies, is what is bad. Not the mere reality of differences.
A bad racist wants laws so that all people are treated differently based on their race, rather than their character and actions.
Similarly sexists – each sex is different.
Artfl, here’s a note blaming white, educated women for being leaders in the degradation of US culture:

The “systemic racism” can be measured, and I claim it should be measured, in the percentage of black babies born to married mothers & fathers. Now about 30% or less, compared to about 70% of white babies. And I think over 90% of Asian and Jewish babies.
Babies born out of wedlock is the biggest social problem, because it is sub-optimal for the children. And no amount of “social justice” can fully compensate for not having two loving parents.
Hook up sex, outside of marriage, is a disaster for the poor. But not so bad for the rich. Trump has kids from 3 different sequential wives. Being rich has protected him and his kids from the very bad consequences of promiscuity, but provide a bad example that should not be emulated.
The socially optimal ideal is one man- one woman, married for life, raising children. This is socially optimal for all modern children BUT, for those rich enough to avoid the very bad cases, it might not be individually optimal. Rich old men would rather have sex with lovely young beauties, and might feel better about themselves leaving their current partners for a younger model. Like Trump did twice. And Clint Eastwood, Harrison Ford, Larry King … most male stars (NOT Paul Newman!).
The socially optimal culture for the rich, which might include hook ups, is different than for the poor. As America has gotten richer since WW II, the prior anti-promiscuous morality / culture, optimal for poor women and their children, has been replaced by hook ups. Making poor communities poorer, culturally.
As measured by the 30% rate of unmarried black mothers in 1965 (Moynihan) thru a constantly increasing impoverished rate of over 70% today.
There should be gov’t programs to reward people who get married and stay married, with kids. Maybe especially poor people and those living in school districts with many kids of unmarried mothers.
The wealthy always had hookup culture… but before feminism debased women, the average lady was not available to them for free… they were out of bounds.

An international group of geneticists studying Y-chromosome data have found that nearly 8 percent of the men living in the region of the former Mongol empire carry y-chromosomes that are nearly identical. That translates to 0.5 percent of the male population in the world, or roughly 16 million descendants living today

Terry Pratchett’s Patrician Vetenari has that slot filled.
He is not totally invisible or silent, but close enough.
Tom Grey,
Hook up culture is a disaster for everyone – rich or poor – psychologically and spiritually.
