The left’s alternate reality
The difference between these two speeches is abundantly clear:
Trump offered bleakness, hostility, bigotry, and division.
Kennedy offered hope, honesty, integrity, and unity.#SOTU

Made me think of the first paragraph of Hans Christian Andersen’s masterpiece “The Snow Queen“:
…now about a very wicked hobgoblin; he was one of the very worst, for he was a real demon. One day, when he was in a merry mood, he made a looking-glass which had the power of making everything good or beautiful that was reflected in it almost shrink to nothing, while everything that was worthless and bad looked increased in size and worse than ever. The most lovely landscapes appeared like boiled spinach, and the people became hideous, and looked as if they stood on their heads and had no bodies. Their countenances were so distorted that no one could recognize them, and even one freckle on the face appeared to spread over the whole of the nose and mouth. The demon said this was very amusing. When a good or pious thought passed through the mind of any one it was misrepresented in the glass; and then how the demon laughed at his cunning invention. All who went to the demon’s school””for he kept a school””talked everywhere of the wonders they had seen, and declared that people could now, for the first time, see what the world and mankind were really like. They carried the glass about everywhere, till at last there was not a land nor a people who had not been looked at through this distorted mirror. They wanted even to fly with it up to heaven to see the angels, but the higher they flew the more slippery the glass became, and they could scarcely hold it, till at last it slipped from their hands, fell to the earth, and was broken into millions of pieces. But now the looking-glass caused more unhappiness than ever, for some of the fragments were not so large as a grain of sand, and they flew about the world into every country. When one of these tiny atoms flew into a person’s eye, it stuck there unknown to him, and from that moment he saw everything through a distorted medium, or could see only the worst side of what he looked at, for even the smallest fragment retained the same power which had belonged to the whole mirror. Some few persons even got a fragment of the looking-glass in their hearts, and this was very terrible, for their hearts became cold like a lump of ice. A few of the pieces were so large that they could be used as window-panes; it would have been a sad thing to look at our friends through them. Other pieces were made into spectacles; this was dreadful for those who wore them, for they could see nothing either rightly or justly. At all this the wicked demon laughed till his sides shook””it tickled him so to see the mischief he had done. There were still a number of these little fragments of glass floating about in the air, and now you shall hear what happened with one of them.
I first read that story—the real “Snow Queen,” not a bowdlerized cleaned-up cartoon version—when I was about eight, along with a host of other Hans Christian Andersen fairy tales in a book I was given as a gift. Unlike the Grimm tales, they aren’t folklore. They are an artistic creation of Anderson’s, who was a fascinating person I plan to write a post about some day (some day!). They don’t have universally happy endings; some are actually quite dark, as is “The Snow Queen” despite its happy ending.
When I first read it, I immediately recognized something unique in it that spoke to not just the child me but to the adult me that I would become. There was something universal there and more profound than a simple adventure tale with magical elements. That “something” was about the human psyche, love, depression (yes, if you read it you will find that depression is a thread that runs through it) and recovery.
Who knew it was also about politics?
And by the way, having looked at politics from both sides now, I would add that the pieces of glass don’t fall into the minds and hearts of people who are only from one particular side.
The Rainbow Flag is a decimation of white, and exclusive of both black and brown. The flag is a prototypical symbol of political congruence (“=”), which is selectively, opportunistically exclusive, a common principle of the Pro-Choice religious/moral philosophy. The optics are poor and progressive.
Who knew it was also about politics?
everyone not po mo..
duh…
in fact, take the time and you will find hans christian andersons story about the emperors new clothes to have also been changed removing a key point that the whole of it turns on (politically)..
whatever happened to the education that such things had to be wrapped in other things in order for the lessons to get out and not be seen as attacks?
this is completely different than the US adding quatrains to notstrodamus as some odd way to make hitler supstitions dominate
this is more like pagan symbology hhideen in plain sight in churches and other places… all manner of such from when the church built over the worshiping places of the old religions and let them still use them by coming in a small door.. which later they forgot their past.
tons of this stuff
old parents used to talk to their kids
and thats why its harder to trick those from less po mo
their minds have been less sanitized of principals
The party that made its living denouncing privilege at every turn sure love their dose of political dynasties. How about leaving the Clinton, Obama and Kennedy name in the history where they all belong and give other people without a famous surname a chance.
One thing about that rainbow flag: there is no white in the rainbow.
I hope Clymer and every other Democrat stays on that message for the next 12 years. And I fully support the Ellison-Warren 2020 ticket.
In the world of light, white is not a color, rather it is the presence of all the visible frequencies, and colors, of light.
Woah!

Oh, and “Charlotte”, is a guy.
A few posts below, neo quotes Pelosi about a “slobbering Trump”. Who knew that everyone would be talking about Kennedy and his chapstick.
Neo, I’ll bet that Hans Christian Anderson book was the edition illustrated by the great illustrator, Arthur Szyk. His depiction of those demons carrying that mirror absolutely horrified me as a child but I couldn’t stop looking at it. I recently bought a copy just so I could look at the endpapers again!
The longer the left are acting this crazy the more people starting to realise the fact that the left are just some really hateful people rationalising their hate under the disguise of their bastardised interpretations of traditional virtues. They don’t care about the well-being of the disadvantaged groups in the society they claimed to represent, in contrary most of the people in those groups are disadvantaged because of liberal policies, but magnifing the suffering of a very small number of people is the only way they could vilify this otherwise perfect society, brainwashing young people into hating their own country country, voting to have their own liberties stripped away in the name of equality in the plan of creating a totalitarian society where they can dominate every single person in this once great nation.
@ Dave “The longer the left are acting this crazy the more people starting to realise the fact that the left are just some really hateful people rationalising their hate under the disguise of their bastardised interpretations of traditional virtues. ”
Isn’t that what the left has been saying about the right? The irony.
@ Dave, it’s interesting – I don’t know about this being an “otherwise perfect society”, but to your main point, I’ve started to think that what you describe is exactly the effect that I should have expected a year ago. I cast my vote in the last go-round as I did with a view toward tamping down the madness, but then in some ways, it even increased in ferocity, and I was disappointed for some time. But then I realized what you pointed out and my outlook actually improved in a sense.
@ Neo, that’s a fascinating parable you mention of Andersen’s there. It reminds me of how Tolkien described the effect of the lies of the Middle-Earth equivalent of the devil (the original Dark Lord, not Sauron). Will look forward to that post about Andersen when you get to it. Hopefully it doesn’t suffer the fate of that opera I was going to write about the 40 Martyrs….
“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.” The Prophet Isiah – 5:20
Calling half of the country deplorable is unity, allowing the national debt to continue to rise risking bankruptcy while putting all of our children at risk in the future is hope, rewarding criminals allowing their children to keep what their parants illegally obtained is integrity, colluding with Russian KGB to compose a bogus dossier to illegally obtain a warrant to spy a political opponent is honesty, the irony.
America is a near perfect country because of many things, I would name one thing here – America is the only country in the world has protections against double jeopardy, not even Britain has it. In many countries including the place I came from government can keep prosecuting you until they get a conviction. Prosecution can’t appeal a acquittal verdict in America unless some misconduct was found in the trial, how amazing this protection is but the left and obama want to abolish this amazing thing which I cannot forgive
White is perceived as a uniform superposition of all frequencies. The rainbow is the spectrum subset constituted from the decimation of white into its majority visible frequency bands, and exclusion of black, brown, etc. So, as a symbol, the Rainbow flag represents a political congruence (“=”) or selective exclusion of individual human lives (a.k.a. “persons”), a Pro-Choice principle.
Okay, can we use words correctly, here? “Decimation” means “killed every tenth person”. I think the word you’re looking for is “splitting”.
Malkin’s headline might have been ripped from your HCA story.

‘Dreamers’ and Demons
Xinran Ji, 24, had big dreams. But demons demolished them.
The bright hopes of young Xinran Ji, a University of Southern California engineering student from Inner Mongolia, died in 2014 at the hands of a then-19-year-old “Dreamer” and his thug pals. Mexican illegal alien Jonathan DelCarmen, who first jumped the southern border at age 12, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder last summer in the savage robbery and fatal beating of Ji – who was walking home from a study group after midnight.
…
No, it’s decimation. The symbolic significance of recovering constituent frequencies (color diversity) from white (as applied to people) is the destruction (pulling, tearing, dividing) of the original signal (person) to produce its constituent frequencies. In the context selected, the Rainbow flag represents the decimation of white people to produce narrow, tailored color bands.
I served with a woman named Low West Woman.
No that wasn’t her name. Just kidding. A Vietnamese woman whose name was almost exactly the opposite. And if she hadn’t already been married, I would have married her. Because she was that awesome.
Dave, that’s a good point about double jeopardy. I hadn’t been aware of that.
