Donation time: here’s that big old hat again
[BUMPED UP FOR THE LAST TIME THIS CYCLE: please scroll down for today’s new posts, 6/17.]
Yes, indeed. It’s hard to believe, isn’t it? Time passes so quickly when we’re enjoying ourselves.
It’s been a while since I asked you to donate to a semi-worthy cause: this blog. And so I’m going to ask you again to use the “donate” button on the right sidebar beside the photo of the hat, and give whatever you see fit.
Every single donation— large or small—adds up, and helps me a great deal in continuing the blog. If each and every reader gave even a few dollars, it would be a glorious thing. But whether you decide to donate or not, please keep visiting and keep commenting. I appreciate all of you. Comments and readers are a very big part of what makes this blog work.
I thank you all in advance. I’ll be bumping this notice up regularly for the next week, the equivalent of jiggling that cup/hat. But I’ll be discreet about it. And then I’ll probably put the hat away for another half-year.
I may as well take this opportunity to remind you that I also get a small percentage of the price you pay for everything you order on Amazon if you use any of the Amazon widgets here to click through and place your order (or use Amazon links within posts here, or the link provided in this post). It’s a wonderful way to support the blog without its costing you anything extra.
I just donated a humble appreciation of your efforts to provide a ‘sane space’. Thank you, no need to thank me.
You more than earn my donation. If I want to understand something that demands introspective, time-consuming analysis, I look to you. Thank you for keeping me abreast of the current issues as well as offering interesting content that makes for enjoyment and increasing my knowledge-base. I also appreciate the caliber of the reader comments and the fact that you keep things respectful.
I want to explain why I mention my donation amount, when I donate here. IT IS NOT BECAUSE I LIKE TO BRAG ABOUT HOW MUCH I AM GIVING. it is because i, as well as many friends and family, are unnecessarily frugal. So, when Neo humbly asks for “any little bit”, I think some people might be unnecessarily frugal and feel quite satisfied with themselves for giving a little bit. For me, this blog is my strong favorite source of informed and carefully reasoned opinion. Today I donated $250. I hope this inspires others to consider how special this window into Neo’s brilliant mind is and to think generously about how much to contribute. The Comments section is more than a place to vent. Let’s inspire Neo to keep up her hard work for our greater good.
Thanks for making it easy to contribute to the sanest blog in the politi-sphere.
Many thanks to all of you!
And to Alan F, a very special thanks.
I want to donate but I can’t do it without leaving a phone number, which I don’t want to do.
Is there an alternative?

I don’t know, but perhaps a fake phone number?
I’m waiting for my condominium to sell. I’m very poor while I wait. I’m in Portland, and my place is in a prime location, but nothing’s happened yet.
Just sent my pittance to keep the content coming. Not a tithe. But worthy nonetheless.
