  2. If Bush was such an idiot you have to wonder how he survived piloting the supersonic F-102 fighter. Those planes were difficult to fly.

  3. Delta Dagger…yeee haaa!

C-SPAN: What’d you learn about anything from the service?

GOV. BUSH: I learned that there’s a way to train a person who knew nothing about flying into being a good pilot. The service did a wonderful job of training. And I’m most impressed about how they drew a rote exercise into one’s daily schedule until you got it right. And that’s particularly important when you fly.

Right Ray, not sure I get the idiot part either…

  4. It’s the moral equivalency game. Obama let Black Panthers thugs off scott free and George Bush pardoned turkeys at Thanksgiving. Same thing.

  5. I have detailed the logic of always accuse your opponent of what you are doing.

there are only a few outcomes…

    Let the accuser be X
    let the accused be Y
let X accuse Y preemptively (and let X do before Y)

one only needs to do some scoring to know why they behave the way they do.
[and this isnt ideal as i dont have space to do right]

    1) X did / Y did –> Both eventually did it, but Y is accused by X before both are known, and so Y suffers. Later when X is found, X doing first is neutralized in the peoples minds

    2) X did / Y didn’t –> X gains immediately by accusing Y, as it negates this WORST CASE for X and puts Y on the defensive. X gains until the truth is known, but by then people have lost interest thinking that hey both did, and all did, so whats the difference. The lead that X gains, is not lost.

    3) X didnt / Y did –> X gains MASSIVELY as being the one to alert everyone early on, and Y bakes completely. Even better, after all that, X can do it too, and if not caught, get more, and if caught, revert to 1

    4) X didnt / Y didnt –> X gains until the situation is figured out. X never is penalized for a false accusation. So it gains as if its 3, until its found and then reverts to they both didn’t. the lead that X gained is not lost.

  6. What was to be a statist messiah ended up truncated to being only a mess. Rather than acknowledge they were seduced by rhetoric…a metaphorical kiss on the cheek and pat on the butt so-to-speak…the obamaphiles have to rationalize the legitimacy of their choice (old hat stuff). What is interesting is that now their mess(sans iah) has been fallen off his mountain and his actions justified because the hated Bush did it (whatever “it” conveniently happens to be at the time) which, at least to me, seems like they’re willing to settle for their Mess being Bush-like rather than an abject failure.

  7. Can someone explain the 3D chess reference? I have seen this elsewhere but I have no idea what it is about.

  8. The problem is that Obama and his supporters always forget that Kirk always beat Spock with aggressive action and intuition. Thus while Spock was a master of it he never had what it took to be a true captain in the way Kirk was. (geek mode off)

Or at least that is true as much as Obama is a master at 3d chess (or any chess) and that somehow translates to being a great president. Further, if rhetorical, I always thought we were better off with a master at regular chess if that is what everyone else is playing – being the master of a game you are the only one playing is worthless.

It reminds me of the idea many teachers put forwards – the sorry state of education is because they are not payed enough. That forces me into wondering which it is – the pay isn’t enough for competent people or they are intentionally teaching them wrong because they do not get enough money.

In both cases by their own admission they ought to be fired for some form of incompetence. In both cases there are probably valid reasons (teachers *should* talk about the govt/NEA regulations, lack of structure, and lack of parental involvement – but that would be complaining about their all mighty union and we can’t have that) but the ones normally chosen are *really* bad and the fact that the ones saying that can not see it is telling of why things are in the state they are in.

  9. Are you saying Bush is the village idiot in Dallas and Crawford, Texas ? (that the empty position is once again filled ?) Does this piece need an editor ?

  10. sweet ea,

That’s called a sarcastic joke. Dallas is happy to have Bush, supposed idiot and terrible guy, because he’s not really so bad as claimed.

  11. If those who call Pre. Bush an ‘idiot’ want to see REAL IDIOTS, they should look in the mirrior and at their loved ones!

  12. 3D chess is easier than classical chess

classical chess has been explored so much BY SO MANY PEOPLE that one has to really have a large knowledge to get passed really good players.

and to think that one can look at how some people play and actually find out that there are styles (Lasker is incredibly aggressive compared to the average person).

in this case, the variation is not new, its quite old. Raumschach, was one of the earlier forms.

however, unlike classical chess, the permutative space of the game and its nuances have not been plumbed.

    one last thing

remember, these are the people who are cargo cult, who dont beleive in real genius, but that such is a label one puts on and maintains, not that such a title is a really aquired thing.

a person who cheats to a position, as do progressives, who manipulate and do all that, are not laying 3D chess….

they are sitting at a 3D chess table and cheating…
and if you cheat, you are not actually playing the game

  13. For those who may not have understood the village idiot reference—remember those bumper stickers during the Bush administration that said “Somewhere, a village in Texas is missing its idiot?” The people who alleged that Bush was an idiot (I of course was not among them) should be happy to know, therefore, that those towns in Texas where Bush now resides finally have their village idiot back.

In other words, a mild attempt at a mild joke. Sheesh.

  14. It may be true that Dallas and Crawford are glad to have their village idiot back, but it’s also true that some village in Kenya is in deep distress as they morn the loss of their village idiot.

  15. Now, President Bush is nefariously insinuating his way onto Facebook and Youtube, after taking a quick rest from breaking up Al Gore’s marriage and from magically tricking President Obama into being an utterly incompetent failure. He recently released a video on Youtube, discussing his delving onto the Facebook scene and a little summary of what he’s been up to since leaving office. Well, besides the manufacturing of hurricanes and arranging for oil spills and such.
