Bevin wins in Kentucky — 36 Comments

  1. Thanks for introducing us to Jenean Hampton. An inspiring personal story of a woman with a head that is definitely on straight. Its not all gloom and doom, the comotose republic still breathes without life support.

  2. “both the Bevin and the Hampton families are interracial. Hampton is married to a white man, and among Bevin’s nine children are four children he and his wife adopted from Ethiopia.”

Don’t worry, neo, this will be turned against them. Hampton will be deemed a traitor to her race and Bevin a condescending colonial master, maybe even a slaveowner. The left doesn’t let trivialities like facts and logic get in their way. Much less honesty and decency.

  3. Neo said:
“Still another thing about these candidates that contradicts the Democratic narrative about bigoted Republicans…”

I’m so tired of hearing conservatives forced to refute leftist lies. It is the left who are liars, bigots, racists and murderers. That is who they are. That is who they have been from the beginning. Their accusations are just a projection by the left of their own faults onto innocent victims in order to justify the lefts’ own lies, hatred, bigotry, and racism.

  4. Lt. Governor Hampton lives in my home town. I voted for Bevin and for her and I am thrilled. I hope they can make some positive change in Kentucky. We have some serious problems that need to be addressed.

  5. The earth shook yesterday! In my little corner of the world in eastern Connecticut, the GOP made some huge gains. In Norwich the GOP swept the entire city council. In my own town we have a GOP 1st Selectman and new GOP selectmen for the first time in 25 years, and the BoEd now has 4 new GOP members. Similar results throughout eastern CT (which is fairly rural, BTW). Never would I have ever thought such could happen. Does local translate to national??

  6. Not THAT much like Carson, if you read the negative stuff he used to do… and remember, he is a medical doctor, the group that gave over 95% to dems and 99% to dems as academics… ie. he is not a republican any more than you are a penguin if you wear a black and white formal…

Carson went from being a poor student to receiving honors and he eventually attended medical school. As a doctor, he became the Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital at age 33,

yes, being an administrator of a nearly 100% democratic socialist institution by a very hated very far away from left leader… NOT..

  7. Artfldgr, if you read the negative stuff about Carson you are reading leftist hit pieces. Take the latest one in the New Yorker by Jonathan Chait as a perfect example. He quotes Carson out of context, has him a Bircher conspiracy nut, and paints a picture of a scam artist fleecing voters only to sell books and raise money. And just wait for Trump followers to pile on with this ammunition his given them. What they will overlook is where it is coming from, that is a hard left propagandist who was senior editor at the New Republic, and a friend of Andrew Sullivan the guy who had a fascination with Sarah Palin’s vagina.

As Rush Limbaugh says, the left always tells us who they are deathly afraid of by the intensity of the attacks and the person they attack.

  8. Artfldgr Says at 9:10 am:

I read Artfldgr’s post looking for some reason why I shouldn’t vote for Ben Carson and I didn’t find any. Did I miss something?

  9. Minnesota Media Poll Shows Donald Trump on Top and Defeating Hillary – Outlet Promptly Deletes Their own Findings… Posted on November 3, 2015 by sundance The operational arm of the DNC, or perhaps Senator Al Frankin, must have been urgently dispatched to contact KTSP (ABC 5) News in Minnesota after they published results from their sponsored SurveyUSA poll?survey… Why? Because they deleted the lead in paragraph only moments after posting it. Their survey finds Donald Trump perceived to be the most likely nominee amid all of the survey respondents: * Trump 26% * Carson 19% * Rubio 16% * Bush…

    and on another note:

Russian Spetsnaz Facing U.S. Army Special Forces: “There Is Bound to Be Shooting”

Syria is about to become a battleground between the United States and Russia, with the forces of NATO and the forces of Syria, Iran, and China backing the two powerhouses respectively. Now there has been official announcement from the White House that Special Forces teams will deploy into Syria to coordinate and lead the efforts of “resistance forces.” Such means a U.S. sponsored side that would (if equipped and capable) undertake a coup d’état of the Assad government.

so its russia and china against the US..
    what could go wrong?

  10. The Other Chuck Says: Artfldgr, if you read the negative stuff about Carson you are reading leftist hit pieces.

no, they are not hitting him with what they have as they would rather have carson, who wont say certain things due to his bonifides, compared to Trump who will open his mouth no holds barred and make hillary look like the monster she is.

Dennis Says: I read Artfldgr’s post looking for some reason why I shouldn’t vote for Ben Carson and I didn’t find any. Did I miss something?

no, because there is no actual point that would do that for you or anyone. if communism and bombings are not enough and relationships to the SID, LID, KGB and GRU are not enough, nothing would be enough.

the ONLY thing that would be enough if someone was clever enough to get it is that you dont get orange juice out of a poison bottle, and you dont get honesty from academic adminsitrators who are nearly 100% democrat socialists…

  11. @ Artfldgr Says 10:22 am:

Because medicine is outcome based it is an entirely different world from standard academia the humanities where there are few if any objective measurements of competence. Unless things have changed drastically since I was young, the politics in medical schools can be very petty and are very much on the personal level. So long as a doctor doesn’t push his political views on everyone else they are irrelevant.

I do understand that Carson had a bad temper when he was a youth, but he is many years removed from those days. I’d be more interested in how he behaved as a doctor when he was under pressure and very tired after an hours long surgery. That is the real measure of the man.

  12. Artfldgr:

No doubt, some of the Republican candidates are weaker than others. Reasonable people will differ as to which are which. The process will go forward, and the one left standing may not be the best candidate, but will be the nominee.

And, at the risk of beating the dead horse yet again — I would vote for Dr. Carson, in a heartbeat, rather than vote for Hillary Clinton. I would vote for Trump, or Jeb, or Christie, rather than vote for Hillary (although I’d be holding my nose).

So far as I know, none of the Republican candidates for the Presidency have destroyed government property and obstructed justice by doing so. None of them have blood on their hands from the utterly preventable deaths of brave Americans; none of them have then lied brazenly about those deaths to the bereaved or to the American people.

Hillary has done all these things. She is the Butcher of Benghazi. I would vote for a wet paper towel before I would vote for her.

  13. “remember, he is a medical doctor, the group that gave over 95% to dems and 99% to dems as academics… ie. he is not a republican any more than you are a penguin if you wear a black and white formal…”

Art, are you saying that it’s impossible for a doctor or an academic to be a Republican?

  14. Artfldgr: “i worked to get into bronx science early, but they took away my money for college and entrances”

    Tangential, but this stood out.

Can you explain how you get into Bronx Science “early”? And, how did “they” take away your money?

  15. Dennis Says: Because medicine is outcome based it is an entirely different world from standard academia the humanities where there are few if any objective measurements of competence.

    Really?

well, i work in medical research computing, where i get to work with these people and their medicines and how they do studies, and what you just said is so off base its not even wrong…

and feminism abounds in poisoning lots of studies!!! like the one where the feminist researchers dont want to use the fact that in a home without a blood father present, young women have their menarche appear earlier (which can bump down their own daughters). no, instead the study wanted to prove its the plastics we use, and made sure NOT to include any questions that would reveal if the reason was due to father absense. the point was to change the plastics industry and find chemicals to block chemicals from plastics because hating industrialization is better than the truth

[oh, and i dont work in podunk, i work in one of the worlds top medical schools and hospitals… renowned the world over!!!!!!!!]

Father absence linked to earlier puberty among certain girls
    http://news.berkeley.edu/2010/09/17/puberty/

the waste is legendary, there is so much i could tell you as to why medicine costs so much, and more… in fact, until recently, most medicine had avoided the computerization of things – unlike manufacturing which was at the front of the line back in the 1950s onwards.. (see ibm history)

their security is abysmal, their politics is incredibly powerful willing to undo any cogent kind of thing, they ignore research that tells then what they dont want, and they game research till it is choked to death giving what they do want…

  16. Artfldgr:

Guilt by association, eh? Let’s not have hospital administrators running for office in the Republican Party, because they all must be leftist moles?

In fact, most of the non-Trump candidates are leftist moles in your book. Only Trump is pure—despite things like his heartfelt 100% support for Kelo, or of single-payer medical insurance, his waffling, his embrace of the Clintons—I could go on, but I’ll stop there.

And Carson has demonstrated his 180-degree switch from his early history (I discussed it in some detail here). Some of that switch he attributes to religion; he is a very religious man. His sincerity is apparent, as well.

  17. Eric Says: Can you explain how you get into Bronx Science “early”? And, how did “they” take away your money?

thats easy, the issue may be that your not familiar with the school structure in the US… but we go from prek, to k, to grade school, to junior high to high school

the tests given for the schools, which are now under attack by every leftist organization with a racialist or feminist bent as being unfair (ie. its a very hard test and only those that pass and are on the top get to go in. the schools average iq is over 145, has 7-8 nobel prizes and several fields medal (mathematics)).

you can skip a grade, which would make you early
or you can pass the test in the first year of jhs, and enter straight from grade school… which is early as most end up entering after their first year in jhs… so early attendance is straight out of high school skipping jhs…

so i was able to take the test and move directly from grade school, skip jhs, and go to bronx science.

as to the funding… at about the time of the 1980s, and the period where iserbyte was serving and later became a vocal mouthpiece of what was going on, the game in academia shifted to having more women in schools

now, they didnt build more schools… for instance, women got into harvard, but they ALSO had radcliffe… so they got both schools… the colleges proceeded to put out poor white males, especially those who scored high. if you had money, you got to go… if you had assets, you got to go… and if your parents were alumi you have much more chance.

remember a lot of what happened with student loans and things changed after that, but then you had to have $$$… my family came here as refugees… they lost their country, their language, their friends, their money, their homes and everything and came here broke and the older ones illiterate (though in dads side it was arts and sciences)… they became janitors, handy men, garbage workersmm, superintendents for landlords, etc..

you had LOTS of feminists working in the schools and they were, as they do today, misleading students to also game things. like counselors who would tell you three days before the due date that you could apply, when they told the girls (found out later) a couple of months earlier..
they lost your applications they were going to attach with records or never sent them out…

there are no scholarships for white males, and what is available is for everyone… while women, and those of race and religions have their own as well, as those that are for all…

selection committees were then using the idea that its ok to bump someone with better academic credentials for someone of lesser credentials who was favored wiht a pudenda or pigmentation (or both)

alumni were connected enough to cause trouble… those with money could call in a lawyer, or threaten not to donate to the college… but poor inner city slum kids who were white and had no money, they were sool (sh*t out of luck)

of all my friends who got into bronx science, the majority never got to go to college either!!!!

i was one of the more successful, in that i took what money i had, went to continuing ed, and lived on a park bench for a couple of years to get my paper… from that point on having bronx science on my resume helped… which is why now the racialists and feminists are attacking the tests as they are not letting in enough women and people of color and the schools tests being so tough have asians, jews, and white males of ability outscoring others.

by the way, i had an almost perfect sat, but they negated that for affirmative action and balancing gender

there wasnt anything to do… i had a great academic career up to that point, i and my family thought america was a great country and if you worked hard you could get out of the slum.

by the way, how did ignoring guilt by association work in picking obama?

if we only used guilt by association, what would have happened?
birds of a feather dont fly together, and saints and sinners party together.
    right?
leftists tolerate nazis in their ranks who lead them – right?

    your right neo…

the idea that the communist party took over the teachers union, and they work closely with the administrators, to the point that catholic schools cant teach catholocism… means nothing.

where i work out of hundreds of people, i have not met one doctor who was not a socialist who lvoed state money and wanted obama…

incredulity is not a way to logically pick things. it may be unbelievable to you, but thats what the long march has created… and THATS what covers it…

here is the link to the article, it shows the top colleges like our ADMINISTRATOR attended and was a elite boss of
    http://mic.com/articles/62041/here-s-the-proof-that-professors-are-raving-liberals

Georgetown gets the closest to bipartisanship and even they don’t give 40% to Republicans. Outside of Stanford’s 32% given to Republicans, no other university even gives one-fifth to Republican campaigns and committees.

Doctors and Democrats: Why have physicians started leaning left?

    1) An increase in female doctors — who more often than men donated to Democrats — and a decline in physicians working on their own or in small practices occurred during study years.

    the old docs are republican…
the academics are almost all democrat…
none are republican where i work
if they are they wont let anyone know…

  19. Artfldgr:

There are different types of guilt by association. Working in a field such as hospital administration (or therapy, or literature, or journalism, or acting, for that matter, all of which are hugely dominated by the left) is absolutely nothing like outside-of-work associations with leftists and being part of their organizations and espousing their aims. Obama didn’t just “pal around” with leftists (and NOT just related to his work, either). He was part of the movement, and in fact taught Alinsky (for example; there are many more examples of his actual leftism from his life, and that includes many things he himself has said long before he was elected president). Plus, his voting record was one of the most leftist around.

There is absolutely no similarity. I’m surprised that you would think there was. Believe me, by your standards, I’m a rabid leftist. I’ve worked in fields heavily dominated by leftists. Many relatives were leftists.

You’re not making any sense on this, I’m afraid. Ben Carson is not a leftist because of his profession. And actually, there are many doctors on the right, despite the fact that very many of them are certainly liberal.

If you want to look at doctors’ self-reports of political affiliation, see this from 2012.

And here’s a much more recent article on the subject. Interesting finding:

The red dot to the upper left is the ophthalmologists represented politically by Rand Paul, and the red dot to the upper right is the group of neurosurgeons represented by Ben Carson (neurosurgeons make a lot more than ophthalmologists, so it’s all the way to the right).

There’s an obvious correlation between higher salaries and more conservative viewpoint, but there’s also a difference ideologically between surgeons and non-surgeons. That latter point would come as no surprise to anyone who works in health care, by the way. But it is interesting that on the lower salary leftmost third of the graph, encompassing well more than half of all specialties, only ophthalmologists fall in the conservative upper part.

Take note, Republicans. If you really want a conservative M.D. candidate, recruit an orthopedic spine surgeon. No one is more conservative than they are.

  20. a logical assumption is still an assumption

the point of the long march was to overwhelmingly change the society by controlling and shaping the minds of the people who move society. schools, unions, colleges, political parties…

Fourteen of America’s 25 Biggest Campaign Donors Are Unions

Three public-sector unions were among the 14 labor groups: the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees; the National Education Association; and the American Federation of Teachers. Their combined contributions amount to $150 million, or 15 percent of the top 25’s approximately $1 billion in donations since 1989.

so neo… how do you spot this?

the funny thing is that you can put food next to shit and the twain never meet but you wont eat it. but in the case of people, and the left you will refuse to accept tarnished goods as tarnished.

    you dont like trump.
    fine…
but whats the alternative? anyone else but trump loses to hillary… carson is dead meat and why the left wants him over trump.

if trump was so left they would fight FOR him, not every dirty idea in the book, and not only that, but they would have drummed up every negative from his past and so far, can find NONE… there are things that people may not agree with or may not think were fair or right, but most of it has to do with not liking a successful man who is not contrite, or apologetic, and has no pride…

you want someone who is not leftist in the election? well your clue is that carson is acceptable and trump is not… he is acceptable to BOTH sides, which have been heavily compromised… trump is not.

the second trump is out and its hillary and carson, your going to hear how he threateneed his mom with a hammer… how he stabbed a friend… how he has been unfair to women… and on and on.. AND it will matter.

but trump? nope.. you will see as they are playing the same game they did with reagan… remember? or did you forget?

i can even lay out how it will go its THAT obvious… and that trump, who is not who we would want if we could choose anyone, which we cant choose…

    look, i wont argue it.
your a changed person by your own story

you have more than 40 years to catch up to my never changed always known and educated by such people knowlege…

so you dont know how they work, their methods, and all that… your argument in that thread post amounts to… only those bad enough or protected enough to get caught are the ones that matter.

well, how about those smooth operators who never get caught, are never revealed openly and who are also a part of it. how do you know them?

i have already given examples of people that do that and were THAT smooth.
    [edited for length by n-n]

  23. Artfldgr:

Actually, the left is fighting for Trump. They are giving him massive, massive coverage. And you are naive if you think they don’t have goods on him that they are saving just in case he’s nominated.

Look, I don’t have time to point out the same things (like the above) over and over to you. I’ve also pointed out several times that Trump does worse in the polls against Clinton than several of the other GOP candidates, and no better than quite a few of the rest of them. You are disregarding facts when you think he does better; whatever evidence we have is that he does not, whether you believe that evidence or not.

You continue to mischaracterize my beliefs on positions on a host of issues, most of them things I’ve cleared up before. Yet you continue it.

Lastly, your longer comments (each of them) are ordinarily thousands of words long. As I’ve said almost countless times, I cut them off at a certain point because they are way too long. Most of the time I don’t even have time to read what I’ve cut, I simply cut at the end of a paragraph and hopefully a certain train of thought. If you want a forum for ten thousand words a day, get your own blog or webpage.

I’m very patient, but I can’t keep explaining the same things over and over to you. I have other things to do.

  24. Artfldgr:

I’ve read plenty of books about the left, and I am well aware of many people being undercover. Let me just say here and now: Ben Carson is not one of them. You are over-generalizing to an enormous extent.

Let me add (as I’ve explained many times) that I have PERSONAL EXPERIENCE of undercover leftists, many of them. My own history makes me very familiar with that type of person.

  25. Poll results are adjusted for such things as likely turnout. I expect that the turnout model was wrong in this election, with many more evangelicals showing up than predicted.

  26. chuck:

That would be understandable. I’ve heard that, as a group, in general evangelicals often don’t vote but then sometimes a lot of them turn out if the candidate really excites them. I suppose that’s true of any group, but apparently it’s even more extreme for evangelicals. So elections in areas with a lot of evangelicals might be particularly difficult to predict.

  27. The left really is filled with contempt: http://www.rawstory.com/2015/11/meet-matt-bevin-kentuckys-new-kim-davis-loving-pathological-liar-gop-idiot-governor/

You might as well not even read the article with that headline. You know what’s going to come.

Travis Gettys, the writer of the article, twitter account says it all, or at least this picture and caption.

    https://twitter.com/wirecan/status/661620336161615872

    Wears a “lower taxes+less government = more freedom” t-shirt and votes “straight-ticket (D).”

  28. There are different types of guilt by association.

Evidence case 1, since Art works for Leftist academics and feminists, and they have leverage over Art, does that mean Art gets to tell us that Carson is the same way? Or is perhaps this a case of displacement and projection due to “willful” ignorance.
