It’s Earth Day! Let’s celebrate!! — 22 Comments

  1. Tonight I plan to keep on ALL the lights in my modest abode (including the cellar) just to be contrary…
You too can be a shining light on the hill. Why not?

  2. How very “green” of you, Good Ole Charlie. If possible, also burn a few old tires on the lawn. It gives a very pagan feel to Earth Day. And, to really do it right, empty several aerosol cans into the atmosphere while chanting, “All Glory to Gore.”

  3. Although climate IS a concern (whether anthropogenic or not) the air is cleaner, at least in the US, the water is cleaner, again at least in the US, hazardous materials and waste sites are carefully regulated, endangered species are no longer endangered. The environmental movement has a lot of successes to boast of. Time for an environmental pat on the back.

  4. The Naked Communism of Earth Day

It is no accident that April 22, Earth Day, is also the birth date of Vladimir Lenin, an acolyte of Karl Marx, the lunatic who invented communism as an alternative to capitalism.

Earth Day is naked communism. To begin, it substitutes a worship of the Earth, Gaia, for the worship of God, creator of the universe and the instructor of moral behavior for mankind.

The Earth does not demand a moral code of personal behavior. Indeed, the lesson it teaches is “the survival of the fittest “and an indifference to suffering. The “natural events” mankind fears most all involve the potential for significant loss of life and for injury.

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Communism reached its zenith in the last century. Its imposition in the former Soviet Union, in China, and elsewhere is a litany of murder and oppression. In the 20th century, a minimum 110 million people died as a result. It enslaves mankind wherever it can.

Environmentalism has been built on the foundation laid by communism because both exist to control everyone’s life. They are opposite sides of the same coin, both are opposed to the ownership of private property and both regard man as state property to be drained of his earnings through taxation.

  5. on another note..

The Polish media reports that a man who took video footage of the burning wreckage of President Lech Kaczynski’s Polish Air Force plane near Smolensk has been brutally murdered.

    he uploaded his video
“Which allegedly contained sounds of gunshots at the crash site”

he was then taken to the hospital after he was stabbed..

    now here comes the kicker…

“Author of the video seen by everyone by now has been stabbed near Kijow on 4.15 and transported in critical condition to the hospital in Kijow. On 4.16 three unidentified individuals unplugged him from life support system and stabbed him 3 more times. Andrij was pronounced dead that afternoon. Russian government claims it was a coincidence.

you can see his video here (while you can)

    patrz.pl/filmy/plonacy-wrak-samolotu-prezydenckiego-tu-154-amatorski-film-z-miejsca-katastrofy-pod-smolenskiem

the way some are spinning it… they figure that russia didnt want evidence of their decapitation of polands leadership to facilitate replacements.

    i dont know…

  6. “”While climate change is the greatest challenge of our time””

These people really have no idea how stupid that statement will look in a few short years. I hope to see it used in courts of law to jail these perpetrators of the biggest hoax ever attempted against mankind. Talk about human rights violations. This is a biggie.

  7. I intend to celebrate Earth Day with needless and unnecessary driving. It’s a shame I don’t have an SUV or I could really get into the spirit of things.

Ad for Don: wait, so Al Gore is really the Hypnotoad?

    …that explains SO MUCH.

  8. neo

par for the course if you keep up with the stuff that tends to fall out of the news and pay attention.
notice that this would have been a big news things 20 years ago… footage.. etc.

if you watch… you can hear gun shots…
he stops, as he realizes he is not being shot at
and you can see a silhouette of a Russian soldier

    the question is…
did they shoot some of the survivors?

all i have is that tiny article in polish and the film clip.
which will be scrubbed soon of course.

what bothers me more is that its not in the news.
no one is really going to check..

    sorry i put it here..
such things really dont have a place to plop em..

  9. i agree with neo – artfldgr’s comment is very disturbing. I know this is way off topic here but whatever.

The question in my mind is, what could the Russian government have against Poland? Notwithstanding the common stereotype of polish simpletons, i mean what does poland have that russia could possibly gain?

Artfldgr, I do follow your comments on here (and please dont take this the wrong way) some of the stuff that you write about is very disturbing. Where do you get your info?

And yes we do pay attention even if we sometimes think you are a crazy and your comments make our eyes glaze over… so keep it coming.

  10. What is the guy saying in the video?
    i have no idea…
    maybe someone else does…

  11. haha i sent that polish news story to drudgereport’s news tip box. although it is quite garbled with the auto-translated version.

  12. I drove a pick-up home from work this afternoon … a great noisy, gas-guzzling pickup truck, with Texas license-plates, and a big ol’ metal tool-box full of energy-wasting electrical tools in the back.
Well, OK, it was my bosses’ pickup, which he was loaning to me on account of the fact that my car (a cute little energy-efficient Honda Accura Legend sedan) is in the shop, and he is mostly totally without a clue when it comes to computers and this newfangled internet thingy…
Gosh, I felt like such a rebel and nonconformist!

  13. Environmentalism has been built on the foundation laid by communism because both exist to control everyone’s life.

    I had no idea, therefore

    DEATH TO LAWNS!

As for Poland, a plane hits a tree in a forested area while trying to land in a heavy fog and it’s all a Russian conspiracy and only Artfldgr has the inside story.

    I can accept that.

  14. guys! i only came across that stuff… my one stab at interpretation can be wrong, there are always others. which is why all this stuff is always ambiguous. as frustrating as it is, we can truly draw no final conclusions. creepy is not a value to determination. its more a radar signal that says ‘look’. Some times creepy is what it is, sometimes creepy is not creepy at all.

which is it? i have no idea, and if i decided to assert without this ambiguous truth, then i guess that’s what makes a nutter who looks at this (to borrow a brit term).

its the nuanced point of differnce between the two. whether or not they can accept that an ambiguous condition is just that, and you cant move the result into either camp with certainty.

later on, with more information, like Stalins order and signatures, but before that, speculation, and ambiguity.

when you look at these things and try to ‘pick a side’ then you end up hiding the important validity that you can get.

(like preponderance making you at least be more cautious as a person always near trouble can seldom show its luck)

    people dont like ambiguity…
    they prefer certainty

but most of everything around us is ambiguous and we tend to just ignore it all for the sake of sanity (i guess). its when its around something that we think is serious and crucial to ‘know’ that its in high relief and causing angst.

    the cure?

there isn’t any, other than acceptance of reality, and the knowledge that long before you were born this is what people did to people, and long after we are gone, this is what they will do. any other description was always a comforting dream to live in.

the world isnt any worse today because you know, and it wasnt better yesterday, when you didnt.

and even worse, we dont know… we just got shaky video, and creepy behavior.

but thanks guys for the vote of confidence…

only time MAY let us know enough to move ambiguity, but assumptions aren’t real
(no matter how much we might want them to be).

  15. sorry i should have finished this

the world isn’t any worse today because you know, and it wasn’t better yesterday, when you didn’t.

when you change, the world doesn’t.
    only YOUR world does.

which is why, when you save a life you save a world

The world you really live in is really different from everyone else s because of this perceptual nuance.

the more you align your inner reality with the outer reality without prejudice, the easier it is to understand, communicate, and interact (and the saner we are).

the less we are aligned with inner reality, the more we are dysfunctional, the more information ‘destroys our world’, the less we can face making a mistake. the harder it is to get someone to understand your existence as uique in the perspective of your universe. there is less common ground to understand.

    reality is our common ground…

boy i digress way to much…
    sorry

  16. Artfldgr,

I know a native Russian speaker at work and I showed him that video clip.
He said the ‘rough translation’ is “Let’s get the hell out of here.”
    FWIW.

  17. thanks

but then that makes things a bit more interesting..

it also shows that unlike the west, such incidents are ‘dangerous’ to the ‘lucky’.

here you see something, your not likely to be killed and may make lots of money with footage and some interviews…

there, something happens, and the luck goes the other way, in a way that fits movies about here!!!

that is what that appears to be is a man living a real life western movie where he sees something and then has to be silenced but gets the message out.

living such dramas is not as fun as the movies make one imagine. irl there are no cavalries, police can only act after the fact, and your not allowed to protect yourself since you cant carry weapons.
