Blood feud?
Commenter “J.J.” suggests an interesting read—this article from June 2014 about Ed Klein’s book entitled Blood Feud: The Clintons vs. the Obamas.
Its author Ed Klein has serious journalism credentials, but in recent years he has specialized in tell-all books about politicians, books whose veracity have been challenged by both right and left and many in-between. In other words, he’s hardly considered an impeccable source.
I have always ignored whatever he’s written. But when I followed the link J.J. provided, the information there seemed oddly prescient, although written nearly nine months ago. It’s hard to read it and not think Klein was onto something.
Klein alleges that Bill Clinton campaigned for Obama in 2012, albeit reluctantly, as part of a quid pro quo—a promise of Obama’s support in 2016 for Hillary. But according to Klein, the following phone call ensued not too long after:
[Obama told Bill that] he wasn’t prepared to turn over his campaign’s digital operations, data mining, and social media juggernaut to the Clintons. Instead, he said he was going to fold that operation into Organization for Action, his second-term political pressure group. Hillary would have to build her own data and analytics system. Bill listened, said, ”˜Okay,’ and let it go at that.
”˜Then Obama said it was too early to make a decision about 2016 and who he was going to support of the Democratic Party nomination. He wasn’t prepared to back Hillary now. He was keeping his options open. He was reneging on his promise.
”˜Bill’s blood began to boil. He was speechless with rage.”˜Then Obama mentioned Benghazi in kind of a vague, confusing way that led Bill to believe that the White House was going to dump political and legal blame for the mess on Hillary.
Way back when Hillary became SOS, I figured there were some promises made between Obama and Hillary, but I wondered why Hillary would have taken the job trusting Obama to keep a promise. After all, reneging on promises was already his specialty, as was betrayal. If Klein’s story is true, it reminds me a bit of the story of the farmer and the viper. Why would anyone trust a viper like Obama? Especially people who are not naive about cutthroat politics, such as the Clintons?
This conversation (reported by Klein as having been between Bill and Chelsea at a party), has a harmonic vibration with more recent developments:
“”˜[The 2016 primary battle is] going to be a dogfight,’ replied Bill, who had already begun assembling opposition research on Biden. “I’m absolutely convinced that the Obamas have no intention of supporting your mother. It could be that they’ll get behind [John] Kerry or Biden. But, you know, we’re smarter than Biden and the rest of them. If Old Joe comes at us, we’ll clean the floor with him.”
”¦”Recently, I’ve heard a different scenario from state committeemen about the Obama’s preference in ’16,” Bill continued. ”˜They say he’s looking around for a candidate who’s just like him. Someone relatively unknown. Someone with a fresh face. He’s convinced himself that he’s been a brilliant president, and he wants to clone himself”“to find his Mini-Me. He’s hunting for someone to succeed him, and he believes the American people don’t want to vote for someone who’s been around for a long time. He thinks that your mother and I are what he calls ”˜so twentieth century.’ He’s looking for another Barack Obama.’”
Elizabeth Warren? Deval Patrick? Michelle? My guess is Warren, and has been for quite some time.
Don Surber apparently agrees. Last November he wrote:
…Senate Democratic leaders know exactly what they are doing by appointing this fake [Warren] to a newly created position of — as the Huffington Post put it — “policy adviser and voice for progressives” — as if the other 43 Democrats and their 2 lackey independents aren’t already ventriloquist dummies for the left…
Harry Reid wants her to be the party’s presidential nominee…
You have to understand: Democratic Party leaders hate Hillary Clinton. They denied her the 2008 nomination, even though she received more votes in the primaries than Obama did.
Democratic Party bosses never really were into her husband’s Third Way centrist crapola…
Elizabeth Warren’s ascendancy to the throne comes in her third year in the Senate, just as Obama’s did. The only difference is, she is not an empty suit. She is an empty pantsuit.
And that is what Harry Reid wants, someone with no experience as president, which gives Harry Reid and company leeway to run Washington. His agenda of expanding the federal government’s role has no limit. He wants to be in our lives on the Internet, the food we eat, the cars we drive, the energy we use, and gun control.
I suppose Reid might be amenable to Warren, but I think it’s not Reid who would be behind her candidacy. It’s Obama himself.
I’ll give all of this an Emily Litella “never mind” if Hillary survives this and goes on to the nomination (which absolutely could occur), or if someone else who’s not simpatico with Obama’s plan for the US wins it instead. But I can say one thing for sure: I’m really, really glad there’s a 22nd Amendment. And no, I don’t think Obama will figure out a way around it, although it would not completely stun me if he did. I am fairly certain he would dearly love to.

Blood Feud: The Clintons vs. the Obamas
Ok, fine.
Remains, why didn’t the Clintoons use their Obama opposition research when they could have…
Goes beyond the quid pro quo. That is where the can of worms is ….
Cui bono? Something like dat …
Barry Soetoro is positively frustrated that his civil war project has the ‘slows.’
It’s not his fault that fatalities have been so limited and the war so tardy.
EVERYTHING about Barry is of Hawaii: the politics of ethnic division and ethnic identity expressed in the polling booth. For in that state, race and ethnicity are ALL — issues are just smears on the cake.
vanderleun:
Thanks, will fix.
Yeah, entering into an agreement with Obama would seem to be a Faustian pact. It’s not if, but when he’ll throw you under the bus.
If I recall correctly, Obama settled Hillary’s 2008 campaign debt upon her entering his administration. That’s a strong incentive to work with him – maybe he’s held that over her ever since.
I also recall Hillary’s chummy exit interview w/Obama on 60 Minutes. Made me wonder if this was something Hillary requested in order to ensure Obama was on record as being pleased with her tenure as SoS.
As tantalizing as that supposed Bill-Chelsea conservation is, are we even all that sure that Bill himself wants Hillary to be president? Sort of hard to believe of a man who is all ego.
er…make that “conversation”.
For once I am rooting for the clintons to draw blood.
Elizabeth Warren? Meh. not the same. Transparently and embarrassingly faux Indian and faux populist. Greedy manipulative old woman uncomfortably similar in character to the one they’re in the process of destroying currently.
Whatever King Putt sez, the media throne sniffers will do but it’s going to be an effort lacking in enthusiasm. No hysterical fainting or gross boyfriend fantasy scenarios on the opinion pages of the NYT.
Obama is entirely predictable. Just ask yourself, WWAD – What Would Alinsky Do? It’s like studying Tai Chi. First you move like this. Then like that. Now be a bird. Now a fountain.
When the Obama Show FINALLY leaves they will totally delete all their emails and burn the hard drives and cite to Hillary’s move as precedent. They’re shaming her now for failure to follow their rules and be transparent but that will all be forgotten by the time it comes to be their time for a dignified exit from public service. It will make the Clinton’s trashing of the White House look like amateur hour.
To the general electorate Elizabeth Warren is not that much of an improvement over Hillary. Nor will she get the minority turnout Obama got. Maybe with Michelle as her VP choice…
I’m pretty much in agreement with neo on this, but there is IMO, zero chance that Hillary ever trusted Obama to keep any promise. She simply had no other politically viable choice.
It was merely a political calculation, probably sold to her by Bill, that without further ‘credentials’ she’d be much less likely to be nominated in 2016. Her time as a Senator gave her the domestic credentials she needed and as SecState she got the foreign credentials she needed. That she was notably ineffectual at both is irrelevant if she gets the nomination.
And yes, all indications are that it’s Warren, as both Patrick and Michelle are non-starters and O’Malley, misdirection (there has to be the appearance of a field of candidates in 2016).
I would only add that I now suspect that it was Obama who instigated and urged his 300 former staffers to sign the letter to Warren urging her to run in 2016, rather than him just giving prior approval. It may not have been his idea but the letter was never even drafted before his signing on to the idea and giving approval for it to happen.
“When the Obama Show FINALLY leaves they will totally delete all their emails and burn the hard drives” AMartel
Without a doubt, traitors and criminals with even half a brain, eliminate as much as possible, the evidence of their crimes.
G Joubert,
Compared to Hillary, Warren is a fresh face. They’ll vote for Warren to keep the public trough open. Look for a male Hispanic as VP.
Maybe the Dems will go for a Joe Biden—Kamala Harris ticket. Age & experience plus beauty, plus race, plus woman. And fresh face.
What we need is a non-RINO Republican to win and employ an updated version of denazification to pry the lefties’ hands from the levers of power throughout government. (Abolishing most of the levers would be even better.) …a guy can dream, can’t he.
There’s a little bit of poetry in Hillary getting stabbed in the back by Obama, after betraying so many herself. And I really hope this continues beyond 2016. Obama is not going to show the respect and appreciation for tradition that previous presidents have. He’ll stay in DC and use OFA to cause trouble for republicans, and democrats who don’t toe the line. If Bill Clinton is angry enough we will finally get Obama’s grades and Michelle’s thesis. Too late for Obama’s election and too late to save the country, but it will be fun.
I would love to see a full-on civil war within the Democrat Party. It’s a cobbled-together coalition whose constituent parts don’t necessarily see eye-to-eye. Blacks don’t like gays, Hispanics don’t care much for blacks, ultra-rich vs. welfare leeches, union members vs. eco-nazis, etc.
Bring it on. I’ll make the popcorn.
Sultan says it’ll be Biden …
Nice pict of Biden at link …. not that there is anything wrong with that …
I thought Elizabeth Warren was bad enough, but the thought that Joe Biden could possibly be elected President gives Mars colonization a new and sudden urgency.
Ann: “As tantalizing as that supposed Bill-Chelsea conservation is, are we even all that sure that Bill himself wants Hillary to be president? Sort of hard to believe of a man who is all ego.”
IMO, Bill plans to be Hillary’s Valerie Jarrett. He wants to get back in the White House to show what he, through Hillary, can do. Plus, he misses all the perks, especially Air Force One. Obama flies a lot, but the Clinton’s used the airplane for personal travel all over the world. I think they abused the perk more than Obama does.
Ed Klein’s book is more like gossip, but a lot of it seems to have some substance. Or maybe he guessed right about which way the winds are blowing between the Obamas and Clintons. Whatever, Hillary’s in pretty deep doo doo. Megyn Kelly is pursuing a form that all high government officials are required to sign a form (OF-109) swearing that they have turned all their documents (files, e-mails, letters, etc.) over to the government as part of the public record. Obviously, Hillary didn’t do that. She held back 55,00 e-mails. That much we know. Not complying with this document is punishable as a felony. (18 USC 1001)

I was quite surprised to see that Elizabeth Warren has the fourth best score amongst Democrats on The Club For Growth’s 2014 scorecard. Of course all Democrats scored substantially worse than even the lowest scoring Republican.
Let me see if I got this right:
A liar entered into an agreement with another liar and is now upset that the other liar didn’t keep his promise?
Hey, maybe there is such a thing as karma after all.
I still find it hard to believe in this day of utter lawless government that anyone in their right mind would give up control of the panopticon to anyone. Just as Ebola the first might burn the house of Clinton to the ground, Liawatha might burn the house of Ebola to the ground. Sort of like that Star Trek with Evil Spock.
Remember Moochel is every bit the narcicist Barry is. They may be trying to oust Hillary so the BIG M can swap places with Barry.
