Obama must think Jen Psaki has done such a bang-up job…
…that it’s time to promote her.
Of course, her job is to transmit his messages without flinching or cringing, so I think she actually has done a good job. Or maybe her true job is to drive the right to a contemptuous frenzy.
Or maybe it’s to make Marie Harf sound good. No; I think it’s the other way around; Harf makes Psaki sound good.
Whatever.
You almost appear to be as confused as me.
“….without flinching or cringing….”
Or breaking out in hysterical laughter.
Yes, Psaki’s a keeper, alright.
Psaki, harf, messiah form the early 21st century’s most dangerous 3 stooges.
Always being the smartest person in the room requires Obama to pick his rooms and peers very, very carefully.
Always being the smartest person in the room requires Obama to pick his rooms and peers very, very carefully.
And the adminstration has gotten dumber and dumber as it goes along…
Every time I see Psaki, I am reminded of Clea Lewis, and every time I hear her talk, I am reminded of Lewis’ character on Ellen.
“drive the right to a contemptuous frenzy”
Contemptuous yes, frenzy no. I watch in amazement and laugh like crazy.
Political spokespeople can be a riot. Here’s a great example of political spin.
A woman researching her family’s genealogy found out that she and a former Prime Minster had an ancestor in common. On the back of a photo of this ancestor was written:
“Remus Rudd horse thief, sent to Melbourne Jail 1885, escaped 1887, robbed the Melbourne-Geelong train six times.
Caught by Victoria Police Force, convicted and hanged in 1889.”
She wrote to the former PM asking for more information and his staff wrote back.
This was their reply:
“Remus Rudd was famous in Victoria during the mid to late 1800s. His business empire grew to include acquisition of valuable equestrian assets and intimate dealings with the Melbourne-Geelong Railroad.
Beginning in 1883, he devoted several years of his life to government service, finally taking leave to resume his dealings with the railroad.
In 1887, he was a key player in a vital investigation run by the Victoria Police Force. In 1889, Remus passed away during an important civic function held in his honour when the platform upon which he was standing collapsed.”
A propos of nothing, you had a post on how Obama lied about some Katrina legislation circa 2007 maybe. I can’t find it and the issue has come up a few times. Could you post it here?
Thanks!
Obama may think that Psaki has done a fine job or it just may be the “Peter Principle” at work… 😉
Plus, most two term Presidents have to settle for the ‘b’ team once they pass the half way mark of their second term.
This job’s primary qualification is clearly, how well can they lie with a strait face?
And I found it. Your search engine is better than using Google’s!

PS. You need to take the plunge and get out on Twitter. We need you.
If anyone else is on Twitter, I am “@theshoebart”

See this and this.
By the way, I found the articles almost immediately by using the blog search engine in the right sidebar. Just typed in the word “Katrina” and that led almost immediately to one, in which there was a link to the other.

I just saw that you had found it yourself.
As for Twitter, I already spend WAY too much time online. I don’t want to increase my immersion in this, plus I don’t think I like wading through a lot of really short jabs. Twitter is kind of funny and cute sometimes, but my style is to jabber on.
Seriously, how can anyone not think of Psaki and Harf as SNL characters? I have to believe that old hands at the State Dept. are mortified. So it’s not just conservatives Obama’s taking aim at here.
the list above is just a few quotes and some headlines. to actually discuss any of it would have it neutered for length at the least…
this does not include what china is doing, where russia is putting nuclear boats and planes in south america etc.
even victor david hansen is starting to talk about the lineup… our kids cant serve, and are way too unhealthy in body if not also in mind… we have let go our most experienced people in the miltary, and bringing it to pre WWII levels… tons and tons of stuff we are and have been ignoring…
i guess its easier to analyse a conflict after its over and years have passed so you discuss the academics views with skews… doesnt seem to help much in looking at whats in front of you in terms of conflict.
even hanson says russia is grabbingt land like hitler did, and everyone is afraid they will grab the baltics. this either mobilizes NATO, or shows that NATO is now defunct.
meanwhile…
we return to this thread in session…
Peter Principle on Steroids, I see. Remember that term from the prehistoric 70s? Or, was it from the ancient 80s? Something like: Higher and higher levels of incompetence. Obama is the ultimate Poster Child. Jen Psaki is the zillionth example we’ve seen in 6-years.
As a Florida friend often says: Are we not Blessed?
Actually, maybe the State Dept. did get the message across to Obama about the embarrassment caused them by these two women, since it appears Marie Harf will not be stepping into Psaki’s position and Psaki is moving out of the State Dept. and into the White House. That may look like a promotion to us, but not to State.
Psaki and Josn Earnest both make me think of Squealer from Animal Farm.

Artfldgr, very good list. I emailed it to my buddies.
It’ll make the rounds.
This:
Moderns are so conditioned to believing that the Narrative can be substituted for the facts that they don’t care about the facts any more. Consequently they occupy themselves with trivial pursuit, whispering to themselves in the manner of the courtiers at Versailles over whether Monsieur Giuliani addressed the Sun King in the proper style or whether Monsieur Gowdy has a worthy haircut. It’s all about fashion trends and coolness. Yolo, dude.
And so they make clever conversation with each other, judging each other by the polished turn of phrase. All the while the shadow comes closer. And nobody gives a hoot. The catastrophe in Eastern Europe demonstrates the folly of folly. The White House is preparing great cauldrons of Kool-Aid right now, and there are appears to be no shortage of thirsty takers ready to imbibe.
Just remember this: on the day, run.

Obama seems to like surrounding himself with women who are incompetent but arrogant. Hillary, Sebelius, Janet Napolitano, Susan Rice. Peter’s principle in action.
