A blast from the past: my normblog profile — 10 Comments

  1. I agree with you about the poetry in the declaration of independence.

I’m betting even non english speaking persons who hear that and the 23rd psalms instinctively know they’re listening to something powerful and majestic.

  2. Do you have a best beloved Chopin work neo-neocon or are there too many too well beloved to pick one favorite?

  3. We would make good travelling companions. I love to poke around the next corner in a strange place. Stumbling on a great eatery isn’t bad either.

  4. Stphnd: You know, I was just listening to some Chopin the other day and thinking about that. I have so many favorites it would be a long list. I might write about Chopin at some point, though (nice change from all the political brouhaha).

  5. Please let me encourage you to do just that at whatever length you choose when you find the leisure and inclination, neo-neocon. I find I’m often alerted to hear things I have missed and thus learn from listening to others express their musical enthusiasms.

  6. I visited NYC right after graduating from HS in Tucson, AZ in ’68. New York! The Met, the library, the Metropolitan Museum! The Opera! The Empire State Building!

And it was those damned headphones that really wowed me.

  7. Neo, I enjoyed seeing your personality come out in your answers to the 20 question About Me section.
I have in the last week begun a blog of my own and am also a mental health professional, who in tune with the traditional separation of doctor/patient professional relationship from personal life such as blogging am having mixed feelings about running a blog as an anonymous author. But for the moment that is how I plan on handling it. I will see what I can feel comfortable with though in terms of getting some of my personality/personal interests, etc to be apparent and maintain an identity that isn’t overly impersonal even though remaining anonymous.
