Spambot of the day
Can’t wait to hear the rest:
In my opinion, a more sound approach to the problem of pigs
But does the bot mean the problem faced by pigs, or the problem caused by pigs?

If I were talking about the problems caused by pigs, I might refer to them collectively as “the problem of pigs”. If I were talking about the problems faced by pigs, I’d definitely use the plural.
Note the hidden assumptions here: that pigs face more than one problem, and that pigs cause more than one problem. I realize that both could be debated, but likewise I wouldn’t feel comfortable assuming that either was false.
Maybe a better way to say it is that I don’t know of any one problem that pigs face that stands out from the others. But I could imagine someone referring to the problems (plural) caused by pigs as the problem (singular) of the existence of pigs.
Perhaps I’m underthinking it.
Well, obviously the problem facing pigs, and by extension, the problem facing bacon.
Save teh baconz!
