Did Obama stab John Kerry in the back?
Or is this even true? Is it actually one of those “good-cop/bad-cop” tales instead?
I don’t know, but I vote for “true.” I think very little of John Kerry, but I think more of him than I do of Obama. The following seems characteristic of the president:
An Israeli newspaper is reporting that two officials close to U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry are quietly accusing President Barack Obama of sabotaging Middle East peace efforts after giving an interview in which he sharply criticized Israeli government policy.
The unnamed officials also claim that Kerry was never given a heads-up that the president had planned an interview with reporter Jeffrey Goldberg of Bloomberg View ”“ just days before Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s arrival in Washington ”” on the subject of the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian peace process.
Eli Bardenstein, diplomatic correspondent for the Israeli newspaper Maariv, reported Wednesday that “those close to Secretary of State John Kerry claim in private conversations that President Barack Obama sabotaged Kerry’s efforts to reach agreements over the framework agreement, in the aggressive interview he gave” Goldberg.
“Maariv has learned that the White House hid even from Kerry the very existence of the interview, in a way that is unacceptable in the U.S. capital,” the Israeli reporter added.
Why do I think it’s true? It is consistent with Obama’s arrogance, his go-it-alone sense of self. He has alienated even many of his friends and supporters—certainly quite a few of the Democrats in Congress—on a personal level by having very little to do with them, not asking their advice, and not even letting them know what he’s planning before he does it.
I’m especially fond of this part of the article:
Though Kerry allegedly wasn’t aware of the interview, Maariv’s unnamed D.C. sources speculated that Obama senior adviser Valerie Jarrett took an active part in arranging the Bloomberg interview.
One unnamed source told the paper, “It’s possible that Obama wasn’t fully up to date on the special cooperation that Kerry had achieved with Netanyahu and his team with the Israeli team. It’s also possible he ignored it.”
Anything’s possible, I guess—except that Obama had Israel’s or America’s interests at heart.
Leftist ghouls are still in power. Even though humans thought it would be the end of it in 2004.
“Why do I think it’s true? It is consistent with Obama’s arrogance, his go-it-alone sense of self.”
More than that, it’s consistent with his ability and willingness to stick the dagger in someone’s back (esp former “friends”) at exactly the right moment. Rev. Wright is one minor example, but I believe there were at least 3 or 4 much more egregious ones in his past. Anybody remember?
Supposedly “sealed” divorce documents of two (or three?) political opponents were leaked, spilling dirty laundry into the waters and causing one to drop out of the race. That’s how King Barack launched his illustrious career. Unless I’m mistaken, I believe he screwed over another (black) Democrat to win the primary for state senator.
It seems to me that Obama’s cabinet is filled with people who are nothing more than window dressing. Old Democrat faces that make it look to the outside world that this administration is like any other. But Obama disregards them. The real power is with his Marxist insiders, Valerie Jarrett, Van Jones, Ezekiel Emanual, Samantha Power, etc. And why else choose Joe Biden as his VP? If you see pictures of them together, it looks like Obama can barely tolerate being in the same room. That’s why it wasn’t surprising that he only met with Kathleen Sebelius a few times. He doesn’t care what she’s doing, because ACA isn’t important – what comes after is important, and that’s in Emmanuel’s hands.
Gary:
Oh, I remember. You’re speaking of Alice Palmer, in Obama’s first political race. You’ll find a long article about it here (also you’ll find it here if you scroll down, in case that Tribune link disappears. Links to that article keep disappearing.)
I’ve written about it many times. See this, for example. Or do a search for “Palmer” on my blog.
The Balts and Poles are rightly freaking out.
Just today the Russians conducted live fire exercises in the Baltic. Yes. Totally pacific. Just routine, surely. But the Germans consider these long suffering victims of Russian (and truth be told-German) oppression as annoyances who are interfering with their desire for Ostpolitik and Ostwirtschaftlich. Germany stymied the effort by Latvia and Lithuania to invoke Article 4 of the Nato Washington Treaty.

reading this place now reminds me of trying to talk to a patient about a condition that they dont want to talk about… so you talk about EVERYTHING ELSE BUT THAT…
and yet, there is so much conversation on how the people of the past would miss things… want to know how? read through your own blog, and notice how it spends time skiriting the most important issues with lesser issues…
discussing the missing horse in the barn that had a door open, and never ever concluding that someone should have closed it, or any action… till the next event to discuss… completely explains how they succeed, in that they bet on this action…
it would be like the 1700s and everytime somoene wanted to discuss thomas paines work, we changed the subject… did you hear? Portia has a new recipe for jello tortalini…

Much of everyday life is filled with opportunities to be distracted. Our possessions… entertainment… cares and anxieties… and even the passionate desire and pursuit of things, some good and not so good, can keep our minds and hearts caught up in a flurry of activity.

A man is hindered and distracted in proportion as he draws outward things to himself.

People don’t want their lives fixed. Nobody wants their problems solved. Their dramas. Their distractions. Their stories resolved. Their messed cleaned up. Because what would they have left? Just the big scary unknown.

You have a number of choices. You could continue to always fight against people who are really distractions. They’re people in the cheap seats of life. Or you can do what you went there to do.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Obama and Jarrett actually took pleasure in delivering this blow to Kerry’s peace talks with Israel. He has a track record of publicly snubbing or sabotaging Israel, such as revealing their secrets, siding with the UN against them, and even making Netanyahu wait at the White House while he supposedly ate dinner with his family.
I agree with LisaM that Kerry is just for show.
And now, ladies and gentlemen, artfldgr starring in that new hit TV sitcom: “The Quote Boat.”
Does Kerry have the self-respect to resign after this? I’m thinking NOT.
Kerry can’t resign; he gave his Senate seat away, and it’s too cold for windsurfing or sailing. Stay on Beacon Hill with Teresa? You kidding?
I must admit, this caster dr.marnish is real. i called dr.marnish +15036626930 when my boyfriend departed from me. but since my boyfriend came back I definitely believe dr.marnish is real
Daniella Terry
I think its certainly possible, perhaps even probable. Does anyone here think that Obama brought Kerry on board because he thought Kerry was the best candidate for the job? Kerry is strictly window dressing. Obama wouldn’t give a moments notice to backstabbing anyone. Remember, there is no honor among leftists, all is allowable if it advances either the agenda or one’s personal fortune.
It’s not Obama. He’s sn empty suit, and lazy empty suit at that. It’s his handlers. I’d love to know who is on Valerie Jarret’s speed-dial. And, who has Valerie Jarrett on their speed-dial.
I agree with Artfldgr.
It is a very scary world situation and having a leftist, buffon sabateur for faux president is making it worse. He is diminshing the US military a a time when we need it most. He threw away our allies. Remember peace through strength. Obama is a puny, weak, anti American, golfer in chief.
Maybe it is time to learn how to defend ourselves.
I think BHO doesn’t pay much attention to anything, he lets VJ handle it. All he really does, aside from golf vacations, is fly around on AF1 and read from the teleprompter. In the photo from the situation room during the raid that killed OBL he looks disengaged. When Benghazi was under attack he goes to bed to be fresh for a campaign appearance. He rarely interacts with members of congress, even members of his own party. However, he does hold a deep disdain, if not out right hatred for Israel. Undercutting Kerry is part and parcel with his desire to tighten a noose around the Jews who did not donate to his campaign.
Ah, but Daniella at 3:55 PM, the question is: are you real?
I vote “no.”
But as far as your boyfriend coming back goes:
parker, I read a very convincing article making the case that Obama was photo shopped into that OBL photo. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised.
That little jug-eared guy hunkered in the corner on OBL day is who you think was photoshopped into the image?
I wouldn’t be surprised Kerry accepted the position so that he could get more American soldiers killed. Now having accomplished this, there’s no need to do anything about Russia, unless they can get some more Americans killed there in Ukraine.
LisaM…
I read that too.
His head doesn’t scale correctly…
And, other, lesser characters show crystal clear indications that they’ve ALSO been Photoshopped in.
His eyes aren’t even tracking the same object that everyone else is watching.
And then it comes out that he was with Reggie. He, himself, does not claim to have been in the room. (!)
As you might imagine, being reduced to spectator was NOT what the kid wanted.
BTW, it was officially admitted that the image was Photoshopped for security reasons: the laptops were blanked.
Well, as long as you’re blanking the screens….
George Soros is pulling the strings.

I think there must be more than just Soros. But who? The Saudis, the Russians, the Chinese? Who?
There is no question that Obama was put into place by America’s enemies. Anybody who can’t see that is a fool.
neo,
Ah nostalgia. Great song for those of a certain age.
Oh wonderful. Now all afternoon it’ll be hey la, hey la . . . no matter what else I try to think. Nobody warned me there were earworms in this thread!
Just kidding. Great song.
