  1. Well, Neo, a certain percentage of people who no longer view the Leftist alliance as being composed of humans, are growing.

That is the result of the feedback loop, the blowback effect, that humanity is instilled genetically in order to survive wars of annihilation.

Those who commit atrocities against your tribe, cannot be considered human. If they cannot recognize your humanity, then the reverse must be true for one tribe to survive the fires of war.

Those who obey the regime’s propaganda, can hate or love a target based upon what the regime says. Stalin said Hitler was an ally of the Marxist cause. Then he said Hitler was a fascist pig allied with Western capitalists. When you heard he was an ally, people loved him. When communists hear he was an enemy, they hated him.

But for individuals who make up their own mind, once a person has lost their humanity… they don’t get it back. Once an enemy commits a war crime such as refusing to accept surrender and slaughtering all the prisoners, they are no longer treated as human any more. Even if the officers and leaders tell them otherwise. It doesn’t work. Not for those on the front line.

  2. The democrat party is composed of various victims groups. Normally they would be fighting each other and the only way you can get them to act togeather is to stoke the fires of hatred. You have to tell them that Romney gives people cancer, steals their money and doesn’t pay taxes.

  3. I hope the Republicans continue to field candidates like Romney.

What the Left gets is that winning a presidential election is only partially about the candidate, and he (or she) is not even the main part. Winning the presidency is about neverending, always progressing, popular and political movements. It’s about dominating the zeitgeist.

Obama may be a fool. He may be a knave. Either way, the Obama presidency didn’t originate from the man. It’s a product derived from the movement.

Foremost, the Right needs popular and political movements on par with the Left. That also means the GOP could field a lesser man or woman than Romney as a presidential candidate if they get the movement right. I hope they keep up their standards.

In fact, I’d like to see Romney run again. I think he’d win, but again, only if the Right first gets the popular and political movements right.

  4. A good and decent man. With such a family and with so many friends he doesn’t need the power or glory, unlike the present C-I-C. And maybe that was a part of why he didn’t win – not hungry enough, not enough fire in the belly. And yet, like Eric, I want the Repubs to run good and decent men.

The question is how to turn the narrative? The narrative of Republicans as woman haters, racists, pro crony capitalists, anti-welfare, and elitists is pretty well established. It will take a very smart campaign to change the narrative to Republicans as being pro opportunity, pro small business pro middle class, pro jobs, and pro small government. It’s hard to change the perception that many people have that the government has unlimited money to “invest” in education, welfare, jobless benefits, healthcare benefits, and more when the ceaseless narrative from the MSM and the progressives proclaims just that.

Looking at the potential R field for 2016 I see some good candidates. But I would not be against seeing Romney toss his hat in the ring again. What would surprise me is if he actually did. He certainly doesn’t need that kind of stress/grief for himself and his wonderful family again.

I’m glad that he is getting this belated recognition. IMO, one cannot but wish the best for him.

  5. I see the left as humans, but they are Those Who Are No Longer Our Countrymen, as the poster at Belmony Club refers to them.

  6. I also don’t think he’ll run again. He doesn’t need it. Sad that most people don’t realize that that lack of need is what allows a person to make decisions based on facts and circumstsnces. Contrast that with MO telling people to talk with their grandkids about health insurance at Christmas dinner.

JJ; I think to be successful a Republican candidate must be able to convince the people that he believes in them, that government will never give them a sense of accomplishment that brings real happiness, and that their children will never acquire the moral core that can be transmitted by seeing the efforts their parents make for them. The ideology has to be made personal for voters. Romney’s goodness was not allowed to come through, but a future good candidate will need much more defense from our team. Too many of ours are more interested in asserting our ideological superiority. Maybe we all need a course in humility.

  7. Neo, that seems a pretty safe bet.

Expat, I agree. That said, I think the Obamacare chaos is a gift from Providence. If things continue as they are, and there’s no evidence yet that they won’t, it may be that the only thing an R candidate will need is a pledge to repeal the ACA and have a plan to move forward from that point. Sounds simple, but nothing is simple in the present twisted political world.

  8. JJ: “And maybe that was a part of why he didn’t win — not hungry enough, not enough fire in the belly.”

True, fire in the belly is needed to cast aside the ethical impulse to abide by Marquess of Queensberry rules of boxing and win by whatever means necessary. Romney, nor any GOP candidate, can do that alone, though, no matter how much his belly is burning up.

Obama didn’t do it alone. It was done for him. It takes a movement.

expat: “I think to be successful a Republican candidate must be able to convince the people that he believes in them … Romney’s goodness was not allowed to come through, but a future good candidate will need much more defense from our team.

That’s it. My main point is that the primary focus on the GOP candidate is an immediate turn in the wrong direction. The movement must be the priority, it must be first, and it must be neverending, never pausing, always progressing.

The movement can’t start with the candidate. The candidate should join the movement.

The movement raises and carries the candidate to the White House. The candidate isn’t in harness pulling the movement to the White House.

  9. JJ: “Sounds simple, but nothing is simple in the present twisted political world.”

Nothing can be assumed. They will lie as they have lied. They’re very good at it. Proven at it.

No matter how self-evident the truth appears to be, it can’t be assumed to be enough. The battle of The Narrative must be engaged vigorously.

  10. Eric: “No matter how self-evident the truth appears to be, it can’t be assumed to be enough. The battle of The Narrative must be engaged vigorously.”

True, that. I said Romney needed someone like Breitbart to head his media response team. I think it’s the one thing that can push a candidate further than he might go otherwise.

  11. Mitt was defeated based upon race, class and a mega-lie; not the merits.

In ever debate or interview, he gave the answer I would have given.

He would have been a *great* president.

How does 4% growth and 5% unemployment sound now?

  12. “I see the left as humans, but they are Those Who Are No Longer Our Countrymen.. ”

Exactly, they are members of our species; but definitely not citizens of a sane and civil republic. That makes them the enemy of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. One day their push will lead us to shove back hard. Get ready to square off against pj manchild and be forewarned his only strategy will be to throw hot chocolate in your face and then beg Chris Matthews to defend him. 😉

  13. “True, that. I said Romney needed someone like Breitbart to head his media response team.”

Its all about articulating a clear message and the willingness to jujitsu the MSM. The left telegraphs their every move/motive. Turn their shallow ideology and self loathing back upon them. Make them explain, in concrete terms, the consequences of their policies.

And yes, secretly, the left despise themselves, which is deflected by their venomous desire to destroy those who see them for what they are.

  14. Saw it earlier today….I was also moved. Can’t wait to see it. What a different place America would be now if only……

  15. The Left believes we are evil and sub humans that need to be corralled and controlled until the day of slaughter.

Until the Left’s enemies see the Left in similar terms, the odds of a victory are not equal. They aren’t zero, but they aren’t good either. This includes the public propaganda arena as well, PR.

I don’t recognize the Left as members of the same species or race. If other people can push a button and a whole lot of foreigners die, and they are okay fighting like that, while recognizing the humanity of their enemies, I have no particular problems with that… if they can actually fight that is. When it comes to face to face confrontations, unless a strong authority orders it or a strong justification/rationalization is present, humans have an incredibly hard time pulling the trigger when the blood and brain spew is close enough to get on them.

While that’s good for a functional civilization based on peace and trade, it’s not so useful in war time.

  16. He lost my support when he said that he’d give a green card to any foreign STEM graduate. Disgusting. He would’ve been okay in the 1950s, with a 90% white population, decent growth etc., and where the main issue was keeping things on the right track. Not now. We’re not helping ourselves with the pity parties, you guys. He didn’t lose because leftists were meeeeeeeaaaannnnn. He lost because the white vote realized he had nothing to offer.

What’s wrong with giving a green card to foreigners?
    ===========================

    Srsly?

  18. Could you imagine what a similar documentary about Obama would be like? The emperor would be shown having no clothes in living color.

Romney’s serious. So… are you not serious?
    =====================

    (1) That might be the stupidest, most non sequitur laden response I’ve ever seen. Well done?

    (2) Soooo…you see nothing wrong with bringing in workers to circumvent the market signals and provide artificially cheap, subsidized labor. Good to know.

  20. So you are worried about Romney providing artificially cheap, subsidized labor for people with medical degrees and engineering degrees?

What kind of subsidized labor can STEM graduates provide anyways. But it might be more than what they pay the TSA and SEIU union members, or less.

When Obama promises not to circumvent the market signals, he’s offering something more than Romeny did, right? All Romney has to do is make promises that sound good to you, then everything will be okay, right?
