Nairobi standoff continues — 13 Comments

  1. I won’t hold my breathe for Obama to declare that “we are all Kenyans now” as a public show of support.

God forbid he interrupt his golf game or something.

  2. I was sickened to read about the killing of Elif Yavuz and her partner Ross Langdon. She was 8 months pregnant.

  3. The weak die and suffer. Those that survive, are made into slaves. Such is Islam, as it is now, as it was 1500 years ago.

As always, the West’s military forces lack power and determination. For the fetters that hold them are stronger than the physical chains of a slave.

But, in the centuries since, techniques and methods have been discovered by the West to develop warriors as well as excellent soldiers. Such that, to a large extent, the civilian population no longer needs the military to defend against crime or insurgencies.

The civilians merely need to be conditioned, trained, and armed. Well, even without firearms, they still have their arms.

The Left is probably thinking “we need some Christian terrorists to suppress, our allies are doing weird things overseas in Nairobi”.

Obama responds “what are they doing in a US State again? Don’t call me up for stupid things while I’m on vacation with Michelle”

  4. I’ll note that this seems to not have been as bad as Mumbai. From what I understand the attackers in Mumbai seperated and attacked different areas at once, causing confusion. This might be the reason, but also the Kenyan security forces seem more aggressive, better armed, etc., then the Indian police.

  5. Steve,

This is the kind of news that makes me back away from the computer instinctively, lest I write something awful. However, even after that feeling cools off, I’m still in sustained range and wish to see the day when all the Muslim colonists, in my neck of the woods at least, are sent packing back to the desert where the meteorite is that they spin around.

More from WZ, Kenya’s deputy president William Ruto has this to say: “They work for the devil, we work for the Living God and we will defeat them.”

Together with Kenyan archbishop Njuna’s unequivocal rebuffing of Obama’s call for acceptance of homosexuality during his Africa trip, this statement by Ruto fills me with admiration for Christian Africa. Like rural (“redneck”) America and like Jewish Israel, the Africans live in a culture where outright Biblical convictions are openly part of public talk; unlike Europe and coastal America, where you’re only free to hold Biblical belief as long as you don’t use it to challenge the real world with its moral messages.

Bible-believing Africa can withstand the threat of Islamic imperialism. They’ve got what it takes, they only need to act–just like traditional America and Israeli Jewry.

  6. I believe I heard African Episcopalians sent some missionaries to the US, to lift their erring brethren out of darkness.

  7. Remember, if you will, our Lord and Savior’s half brother is quite active with the anti-government forces .

You know, I am finding myself truly despising the knaves who voted in this anti-American agitator . They will deserve the revolutionary justice they so crave from their masters .

  8. Seems to Simon Jenkins at, where else?, The Guardian that these attacks are our fault because we are horrified by them and because we go to church and build shopping malls:

Sometimes we should stop and ask why terrorists commit outrages like that in a Nairobi shopping mall. The answer is the west always over-reacts to big, sensational gestures of extreme violence. Had the Somalian al-Shabaab sect merely shot up a street in Mogadishu, would Cameron have rushed to Cobra? As it is, Cameron has helped send them to the top of the terrorist charts.

There is nothing anyone can do to prevent suicide bombers hitting civilian populations. The slaughter of Christians in Peshawar this weekend showed that wherever crowds gather they are vulnerable to any group with a brainwashed youth and a bomb. It might be sensible to discourage like-minded crowds from gathering in one place, be they co-religionists or party faithful or merely the wealthy.

The modern urban obsession with celebrity buildings and high-profile events offers too many publicity-rich targets. A World Trade Centre, a Mumbai hotel, a Boston marathon, a Nairobi shopping mall are all enticing to extremists. Defending them is near impossible. Better at least not to create them. A shopping mall not only wipes out shopping streets, it makes a perfect terrorist fortress, near impossible to assault.

Some leftists never fail to astonish and infuriate me.

  9. We also build newspapers like the Guardian and allow them to speak without shoving a spike through their lungs. We also do that too.

  10. Reading interpretations of previous wars in which individuals that could not diffuse their responsibility to kill, failed to fire the trigger, Mumbai now a days don’t sound that bad.

I do wonder how the police there were trained though. Grossman’s claim that humanity has an inbuilt resistance to killing people up close and personal, without group diffusion (firing squads, 2 man sniper teams, team operated weapons, distancing of the target from being human) sounds very convincing, but comparing how SWAT teams who shoot and kill civilians, because they busted in the wrong house, are trained vs how the Mumbai police who failed to fire were trained, should be a clue.

  11. At some point we will figure out that those Islamists are at war with the West. Always have been. Our unwillingness to fight back will have its costs.

  12. People would have solved this. The government has never been against guns. That’s believing in government propaganda about the ATF, Fast and Furious, WACO, etc.

The government loves guns. Hollywood actors and their bodyguards loves guns. They love guns. They don’t love Republicans that can get things done on their own.
