I love Judi Dench!
Names, Les; I need names.
That’s Eric Porter in the top photo. The only thing I can clearly remembering seeing him in was the role of Soames Forsyte in the Forsyte Saga BBC series. The way he played the character — as villainous but someone dying for love, yet completely unable to show love himself — was almost painful to watch because it was so well done.
Never noted the resemblance to Kevin Spacey before, but it’s certainly there.
The guy in the bottom photo bears a slight resemblance to Kevin Spacey.
I suppose that most people have seen the series “As Time Goes By” on public TV. Dame Judi Dench is just delightful in this light hearted series.
If you haven’t seen it, look for re-runs of re-runs.
The BadgerMom believed the sun rose and set because of Judi Dench. I miss the BadgerMom.

Excellent description of Eric Porter. His performance as Soames was one of the all-time great ones. He made a nasty character into a nasty-yet-heartbreaking one, and did it in the most subtle way possible.
So indeed: Eric Porter and Kevin Spacey.
Never heard of EP, and don’t recognize KS.
Concur with Oldflyer–ATGB was a lovely show. I’m a Geoffrey Palmer fan.
