Question of the day: does Rush Limbaugh read neo-neocon?
Nah. I very much doubt it.
But this was a surprise—
There’s been a lot of speculation on what [Obama’s] ends might be [in pushing gun control right now]. I think there’s a multitude””but one of them is sticking it to the bitter clingers, and letting the latte crowd know he’s with them, whether the legislation they want gets passed or not.
Remember those bitter clingers, bitterly clinging to their guns and religion?…Now, I’m more akin in my own demographics to the San Franciscans than to the bitter clingers. But somehow I never got the memo about the latter. However, I run in circles that trash them enough to make me quite familiar with the prevailing attitude, which is that they are, to put it crassly, cretins out of “Deliverance,” and terrible racists to boot.
It doesn’t escape me that a great deal of the talk on blogs on the left lately is about the heinous “gun culture,” rather than anything more rationally related to murder or mass murder.
Rush Limbaugh, yesterday (hat tip: Legal Insurrection):
Aside from wanting everybody’s name on a list of some kind, why is Obama doing all of this? I mean, all of this is so in our face. Everything that people hold dear is under assault, deliberately making people upset. This is not what presidents do. Deliberately making people upset.
Maybe this is about revenge. You know, Obama used that word when he was on the campaign trail prior to the election. He told his supporters in Ohio to go vote and get their revenge. Revenge against who? Well, obviously, the people that disagree with Obama. But who are those people? He clearly knows who they are, and I think the root of this, I think the answer to my question can be found in the comment that Obama made when he thought he was off the record at a fundraiser in San Francisco, when he talked about the bitter clingers. These are people that the liberals all know. These are the not very bright people that want life to never change. They don’t want any progress…
Why doubt that he reads your site?
It happens quite often that I will read something on the ‘net, and later in the day hear Rush discussing the same opinion. Don’t recall hearing anything in particular that was taken from NeoNeocon, but wouldn’t be surprised.
My wife is continually surprised at how often Rush will echo something I have said. I tell her that if she would become computer proficient, she could also be ahead of the curve.
I agree with Oldflyer, he’ll pick things up from blogs, sometimes without attribution (poor form).
He sees all of these people as harboring basically racist and unenlightened attitudes. Anyone who disagrees with his worldview, that is. And it’s his duty to stamp it out.
I know for a fact he has. That’s how I found your site — he was reading directly from a post about about Obama ‘the colonial’.
Because show prep, Dude.
southpaw: actually, I’m pretty sure the piece of mine you mention appeared in the online Weekly Standard, not my blog. I’m pretty sure it was this one.
Rush may well visit here from time to time (after all, it’s a very good blog), but these things that Neo and Rush are noticing are in fact ‘out there’ in the zeitgeist, no? Just “blowing in the wind”.
Obama has been spiking his football and getting in the faces of his many vanquished foes (i.e., half the population); isn’t it becoming increasingly evident to everyone that he just nurses an abiding hatred for the “other half”?
Oldflyer, the same thing happens with my (generally computer averse) wife.
Things tend to boomerang on people like BHO, MSM or no MSM, just when they think they have everything under their control. BHO, Biden, and the other rabid ones on the left have started something that will cost them politically. States and localities will push back at their anti-2nd agenda. WY and TX are in the process of passing legislation to declare it a felony for federal agents to enforce bans and registration in their states. Other states will follow this course of action. Democrats up for reelection in Red states in 2014 are distancing themselves from BHO. This spiking of the football on the graves in Newtown may just give republicans control of the senate.

Although the ‘journalists’ in this video don’t understand what is happening, its clear that even restaurants are starting to push back. Thus the pendulum begins to swing right.
Neo- maybe but I do recall him saying he was reading an article by some blogger called neoneocon. You should call in and see if he recognizes you.
It would not surprise me that Rush gets ideas from Neo. At the same time, as others have pointed out, these ideas are out there. It is obvious to many that Obama wants to stick it to his political enemies- domestic political enemies, that is. [The Muslim Brotherhood is a much different issue.] Obama has said so in many different forms many different times.
When Obama made the “bitter clingers” remark nearly five years ago, I was impressed with the lack of knowledge Obama had about wide swaths of the country, in addition to his condescending attitude towards the “bitter clingers.” It stuck with me, not just with Rush or Neo.
Neo,
Rush has a very proficient staff that apparently reads all the top rated blogs. A few years ago I wrote a letter to Thomas Lifson, proprietor of American Thinker. It was published by AT and imagine my surprise when my sister in law in Seattle and my friend in Austin called excitedly saying that he’d read it on his show and cited my name.
Regards,
Roy
My experience in listening to Rush is that he attributes sources more often than not. Just recently added your blog, and I think it is noteworthy. Ever since Obama advised his supporters to vote for revenge I respectfully refer to him as President or Mr. Revenge.
Even if Republicans gain 75% of the seats in the Senate, they will never control the Senate. Not when that 75% have a list of blackmail material a mile long that Democrats can just hand to the media any time they want. And if not that, there are plenty of other “deals” made that nobody knew about.
If a Republican President is elected, the Left will do their best to sabotage whatever they do and turn it into a disaster. Witness post 9/11, TSA, Education funding, and Bush wars in Middle East stamping out terrorists.
If a Democrat is elected, you will see the mask come off. But all the stuff you see going on, was ALREADY going on under Republican majority. You just never heard about it.
City Journal has a Heather McDonald Classic from 2010 that describes how the gang crime in Chicago was interpreted (or ignored) by Obama to suit his needs and how he used his job as community organizer to sow discontent rather than to analyze and work toward solving the gang problem. It is always going to be about Obama, and woe to those who oppose him or question his superiority.

You betcha this native Western Pennsylvanian clings to my religion and my quaint attachment to civil liberties, including my Second Amendment rights. Yet this man who claims to be “my” President showed by that speech in San Francisco that he has written me off; has designated me as an automatic racist. I pay his salary. And he hates me.

Hate to say it, but it also seems to me entirely possible that the Administration would like nothing more than to provoke a violent reaction from “right wing extremists” so that they can crack down even harder. Remember Fast and Furious? A few murders were deemed an acceptable price to pay for the Administration’s policy goals…….
Does Rush Linbaugh read Neoneocon?
He certainly should.
The roots of Democrat politics are envy and hatred. Obama merely displays these more openly than previous Dem. Presidents.
Obama and his like seem to think we need bibles and guns to be powerful, confident, self sufficient. If they can take them away, are we then automatically their slaves? That’s what they seem to be erring on the side.
What they don’t seem to understand is that what makes a warrior isn’t his weapons, clothing, or berserker drugs. It’s something inherent to the spirit, mind, and soul. Something inherent. As in, you can’t take it absent just killing em.
