Obama’s self-evaluation — 23 Comments

  1. somebody who has the judgment … C

the temperament to ask the right questions … C

to weigh the costs and benefits of military action … C

who insists on good intelligence … D

who is not going to be swayed by the short-term politics … F

Yep I’d say that was a good B+ … LOL

  2. Your Infantile Majesty: When that phone call came at 3:00am from Benghazi you were…lemme guess..partying hardy with Jay-Z and Beyonce..?

Ohhh, right…THAT was immediately after the butchers were finished. You’re a Comfort. Yes you is,’Yo.

  3. To add to Ed’s list above:

Its all the fault of :

ATMs and automated airport ticket machines

    The Earthquake that hit Japan

    The Arab Spring

    Not enough stimulus money

    Soft and lazy Americans

    RACISM

    Fox news

    The Tea Party

    Obstructionist Republicans in Congress

    Bad luck

    Hemorrhoids

    RACISM

  4. Dunning-Kruger effect. Obama has been pumped up by so many for so long that he has very little self-awareness.I’m reminded of those creepy Jarrett remarks about Obama, “I think Barack knew that he had God-given talents that were extraordinary. He knows exactly how smart he is…”
Probably doesn’t help that he’s surrounded himself with yes-men like Panetta (as you posted a few days ago).

  5. The latest fox news article is filled with this worthless trash:

(these are the exact words), “security officials on the ground say”; “But according to multiple people on the ground”;”U.S. military intelligence also told” (which branch, fox news?);”it was clear to everyone in the security community;(really who?);”One source said”;”Both American and British sources say” (multiple anons?)

Hell, that’s only half the article, the rest is the same in almost every paragraph..

    Enjoy the witchhunt.

Sources say, “Neocon loves yellow journalism” Hey, maybe you can bully some children on the Internet by making up stories confirmed by unnamed sources.

This isn’t an investigation so far, but a farce to smear with almost all unknown sources.

  6. Barken: ah yes, when the sources are anonymous (NOT unknown, by the way) and it’s Fox reporting against the Obama administration, you discredit it. I would wager you considered anonymous sources pretty reliable, though, when they were dissing Bush.

And you can bet that Fox is well aware of who its sources are, and I have little doubt they are good ones. Whether their stories will pan out will only become clearer over time—if more information comes out in an investigation by an objective and or at least bipartisan group (not the White House investigating itself).

But even without the Fox news stories, the Obama administration’s story stinks to high heaven because of its own internal consistencies. He knew it was a terrorist attack from the start, except he (and spokespeople) put out the false story about the video, over and over and over, until he realized people just weren’t buying it. Obama has said he needs the investigation to be completed before he has any information, but the information we’re looking for is what he himself did and said. He lies in the second debate about what he said in the Rose Garden. And on and on.

  7. McCain had it right when he said, We can’t afford “On the Job Training” (for a U.S. President).

  8. I’m really glad that the House will stay Republican even if Zero wins. That’s my only consolation right now. The idea that half the American public will vote for this guy is deeply depressing.

  9. Mr. Frank: agreed. I think it’s much worse than in 2008. In 2008 people could believe all sorts of wonderful things about Obama that weren’t true. Now reality has proven all of that false, and yet he still has about half the public behind him. Very depressing indeed.

  10. What a hypocrite you are barking, I mean Barken. The MSM has been using anonymous sources for decades against Republican politicians. But when the shoe is on the other foot you squeal like a stuck pig.

And regardless of the accuracy of the Fox stories we *know* Obama and his administration were lying like a rug for weeks when they were claiming the attack was instigtaed by the video. They *knew* that was false and they deliberately misled the American people. If you’re voting for Obama own *that*, pal.

  11. “By most criteria, I’ve passed those tests”

How the hell could Obama have passed any of those “tests” in 2008 when he said this? At that point he had less executive experience with foreign policy than Sarah Palin.

  12. “Those whom the gods would destroy they first make mad”
Barry Soetoro aka Barack Hussein Obama’s madness has already begun.

“Voting is the best revenge.” Barrack Hussein Obama

This of course begs the question, revenge against whom? Romney for daring to run against the one? Republicans, conservatives and independents for voting for Romney? Someone doesn’t desire revenge unless they believe that they have been deeply and unjustly wounded. And, to a sociopathic, supreme narcissist like Obama, any opposition that threatens his delusions is a mortal insult.

  13. “By most criteria, I’ve passed those tests”

Judging from his reluctance to release his transcripts, passing a test is apparently a new experience for Him.

  14. Here is how Obama works. He starts with the premise that he can save the world. Then he searches for an issue (asbestos, Lily Ledbetter) that he can use to build support. Note that this issue does not affect him personally and herefore his solutions are all fantasies, not experience based. Then, after he people are riled up, he appoints a commision, which he later ignores. Then he holds a press conference to announce that he has saved he world.

Here is my hypotheitical example: Obama gets a letter from a kid who complains that math is too hard and that he might not get into college because he is failing geometry.. Obama figures out that geometry is too hard because you have to deal with different things like squares and circles and that it would be so much easier if you could get rid of terms like radius and diameter. He appoints a commision of …studies scholars to study the problem of squaring the circle and installs yet another czar in the WH. After a year of meetings, trips to Los Vegas conferences, and Wagyu beef dinners, the commision makes a final report. Obama goes on TV to annouce that he has found a way to put American youth at the top of all international math tests and that as a resut, he has created 50 million new jobs.

  15. If you go back and reread the quote, what Obama is suggesting is that when the 3 AM call comes, he will be the one who would not send in the Marines. The debacle in Benghazi is President Obama doing what he suggested he would do.

  16. More on the Benghazi attack:

There’s also a rumor floating that the stand down order was given because there was a plan to allow Stevens to be kidnapped, and then arrange a trade for the Blind Sheik, thus giving O a neat “October surprise” and Morsi kudos with his people for have arranged the release of the Blind Sheik.

Of the two, the gun running is probably more likely – we want Assad out. If that’s a real likelihood, my son says look to the Russians to be involved – they want Assad secure so that Syria is a solid ally, and they have Iranian connections solidified.

Hm. If that’s likely, then maybe there’s some more of that “flexibility” in Obama’s response? Or Non-response. Maybe O got the word to “stand down” and passed it on?

  17. Great post. Las Vegas is really one of the best cities in the states… Sin City has a lot to offer when it comes to entertainment. I think most people associate Las Vegas with gambling too much nowadays. Vegas has some of the top nightlife nightclubs in the city and the nightlife will only get better and better!
