So, did Romney get a bounce?
Maybe a small one; your guess is as good as this guy’s.
But if the bounce was just minimal, you can be sure that the MSM is high-fiving itself. And they would certainly deserve a lot of credit.
Polls are especially suspect this year, IMHO, and not just for the usual reasons. This year predicting party turnout is especially difficult, and so much hinges on that. I can’t help but think Republicans will be somewhat more motivated to go to the polls than Democrats, but then again most of the Democrats I know hate the Republican Party so much that they are always strongly motivated to vote in order to make sure those evil people don’t come to power again.
Evil liars !
Did you know I learned today on Fox News (by a liberal) that the public sector has shrunk during the Obama administration and the private sector has flourished.
Did you know that Obama has “CUT” taxes for the middle class and we should be thanking him for that?
Did you know that Obama has strengthened Medicare by making it more efficient?
Lordy! You people just don’t get it!! All I saw in the Republican National convention is rich white men stomping on the gains of the last 4 years by a very successful president!
What bounces up comes back down, and after the flavor of the week primary campaign, I really don’t care about a bounce. I’d rather see a steady move in our direction as the ads get started and as local pols start talking about what happened at the convention.
My memory must be fading with old age – I don’t remember all this talk about a “bounce” after other presidential conventions as much as this one.
I remember there might be one headline the day after; but not much else. This year the news is that there isn’t a “bounce” and the MSM is having a field day with that – day after day after day.
They are trying so hard to get around the fact that a sitting President is in a dead-heat race with a challenger – now that is the real news.
Seriously, trying to understand the American news media these days is what it must have been like under the Soviets when folks were trying to understand the propaganda put out by Pravda. “They said this; but what they really mean is that.“
“There is no pravda in Izvestia, and there is no izvestia in Pravda.”
WORD.
Evan Thomas (Newsweek Editor AND grandson of Norman Thomas, perennial (6X) Socialist candidate for president) hit it on the nose when he bragged that the Fourth Column; er, Fifth Estate, would add about 10-15 points to the Dimocrats’ total in 2008.
We are really going to have to put our shoulders to the wheel, my friends. And Push!! Heave!!! like a bunch of hippies getting our VW van out of a ditch after the Woodstock mudfest.
