More evidence in the Zimmerman-Martin case — 14 Comments

  1. There is no two ways about it: the facts that are publicly available to this point bear out Zimmerman’s story.

  2. Facts? Who needs those when there’s a story to be told? Certainly not journalists.

Pith aside, I do wonder who will actually pay attention to the facts. It’s a given that the journalists won’t, but will voters? Will it be enough to get them to actually *think* about the Narrative and just how much they are being lied to? Will *that* lead to an awakening?

  3. Another leaked report said the wound was on the left side of the chest. If Zimmerman is right handed, this would support a close struggle.

  4. There’s a weird racism at work here in the MSM and establishment: Blacks are not fellow American citizens or even fellow human beings. They are angry gods whose favor must be bought with offerings and anger averted with sacrifices. In the Zimmerman case, only a human sacrifice will do. As for “facts”, the priests of the gods do not like “facts”; they are blasphemy.

  5. The leak for today is that according to his tox panel, our boy Treyvon had THC in his system, and was thus either smokin’ some “weed” or had found himself some hashish.

  6. A nice metaphor, good and chewy, armchair. I like it. The sorrowful thing is that its really only half metaphor.

  7. armchair,

Sadly, you are correct. After the long struggle that culminated in the 1960s the black community has been in a downward spiral ever since thanks to the ‘Great Society” and ‘affirmative action’ and the ill-liberals in general. I wish a plague of locusts followed by a plague of vile disease upon the race hustlers.

  8. Zimmerman is in Florida.

    Florida is a special place.

I became acquainted with Florida in grade school. There was a project to make a paper mache of a state and show its mountains. I quickly researched that Florida lacked any mountains. But it does have Okeechobee. Let that name swirl around your lips. Okeechobee. Hints of Hawaii and the South Seas, no?

I wish a good friend were here to provide his take on the events. Damn son of bitch died. Heart attack. After 20 years in the military. He kind of expected it. He told me of his team only 3 were alive. He was part of a Seal team.

We met in Florida’s swamp. I saw him catch a five foot alligator and an armidillo. Showed me birds; I love birds. Florida has birds and is part of the land many birds cross in migration. Birds: Pelicans, Cranes, Eagles, Owls, and what was that one that he showed me that caught dragonflies and stored them in the barbwire? They have a split tail and fly so quick the eye can’t follow. Quicker than the eye!

Went fishing with him fives times and we were skunked all five times. But we were rained on.
And one time the lightning and thunder were so close, I screamed. Other times he came back with Grouper and Lobster. Ever had fresh fried Grouper? Oh my God, it is to die for. And there is enough for everyone.

He was genuinely the least prejudiced person I have ever known. It just wasn’t in him. I suppose it was due to his raising, having one parent full Scot and the other full Lakota. Makes me think that prejudice is almost soley a thing we learn in our childhood. If we were gifted, we had parents who did not impart it. Such a thing–to be free from superstitions like prejudice and environmentalism. Both, like believeing in a bad Moby Dick, are based on tradition, not fact, and when fact is proved by empirical and stringent scientific method, it trumps tradition.

We have to remember our opposition may have something to teach us, learn what that is, and marginalize the rest. That’s how we win the important margin over.

That it is rare only makes it more valuable.

  9. Curtis,

The bird you are referring to is the Shrike or ‘butcher bird’. Florida is a special place and IMO the most unique of the 50 states. Your friend sounds like a fine person and his absence must have left a hole in the lives of all that knew him. BTW, I agree that fresh Grouper on the grill is a taste of paradise.

  10. Did anyone see the partial “walk-back” that ABC’s Nightline did of the Zimmerman case tonight? ABC was the network that claimed Zimmerman was uninjured, aired photos of Trayvon when he was little, and of Zimmerman when he was 60 pounds heavier and unshaven, etc., etc.

After the unctuous Mary McFadden gave the narrative, where they actually admitted that Z. was injured and his nose broken, they intercut it with some guy named (IIRC) Dan Adams, who was one of the Priests armchair pessimist alludes to, and basically was screeching that the gods must be propitiated with the blood of Z because “a boy is still dead.”

They ended the segment with the same pairing of photos, of Zimmerman much heavier and a sinister 5 o’clock shadow, and Trayvon at age 12.

    They are despicable.

  11. Curtis, Parker, Beverly,

It also explains why black-on-white crime never makes the news: It’s just the Minotaur’s annual harvest.

  12. armchair pessimist,

Don’t forget the black-on-black crime. Do the Al Sharptons really care about the black kids who are killed or those who become killers. Either situation means a lost life but more bucks for Al.

  13. relentlessdefense has this to say about the effect of clothing on gunshot wounds:

The passage of a bullet through clothing can alter the appearance of the wound and cause the examiner to reach different conclusions regarding factors such as the range of the gunshot. When there is clothing between the firearm and the skin, you will not find soot and powder on the skin, and searing is lessened or can be prevented. Therefore, the usual methods of determining the distance of the shooter from the victim cannot be used.

Florida Department of Law Enforcement firearms expert Amy Siewert examined Trayvon’s gray sweat shirt and gray hoodie for powder burns and wrote that she found them on both garments, prompting her to conclude that the muzzle of the gun was touching them when Zimmerman pulled the trigger.
