I get $986 a month in Social Security…lucky to get that, and I will probably finally break $1000 starting in Jan. Plenty for me unless something expensive happens. $4100 for 14 extraction and new full dentures back in Jan 2026 or so—Medicare and Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB) doesn’t pay for that. Still, I was fine with that, plus the gas and food costs…it was Trump’s support of Putin and Russia that led me to vote NPA in Federal races but GOP in FL races.
Managing the money is the key (something the GOP seems to have forgotten); however, I also get $85 a month in food help…called SNAP now. Past Sat. I get letter from DCF telling me I will lose that 85 if I don’t upload a bunch of documents by Nov 5. Loss of $85 a month can damage a budget when 2026 property taxes also arrived this week.
Anyway, I uploaded property tax bill and electric bill and a B&W id. Then checked with one of my AI Sidekicks for more info. I would not need to drive to Gainesville because DCF had a small office in Chiefland (20 miles away). I went in there to get my driver’s license uploaded in color. Lady said I would’ve had to come in anyway because she would put a DCF stamp on it that ‘proves I am who I say I am.’ So at 80, I’m guessing DCF wanted to make sure I was still alive. That was Monday and the $85 still isn’t in there yet…
California is NOT going to have a big wealth tax on the wealthy. I’m sure there are other positive outcomes from last night, but their numbers are small.
Oops. Only 60& of votes counted. Forget it Jake, it’s California!
