Can you believe that Election Day is only a week away?
I can’t. I’ve been dreading it for quite some time.
Don’t have a whole lot to say about it, though, that I haven’t already said. I know what the forecasts are, but I don’t know what will actually happen.
Polls seem more useless than ever, but even a stopped clock is right twice a day. Betting markets? They rely on polls, for the most part.
In other news, Israelis go to the polls today. The prediction is that no one will get a parliamentary majority and a coalition will be necessary. We’ve seen that before and it doesn’t always work out.

Just got back from early voting. Outta my hands now. Now it’s all up to the vote counters and observers to keep the margin of cheat under control.
Let’s say I don’t have high expectations.
Not only are polls less reliable than they ever were, but it’s come to light that there are organizations out there completely faking polls, at least in one case in order to prove how gullible the media are. This is probably not new, but like everything else in public life, it’s much worse than ever, and the masks are off.
I’d be inclined to believe Richard Baris though, and he predictions are not good.
It is beyond my comprehension that people will vote for Democrats, as if they have solutions to our problems, but I know many people will do so. Invincible ignorance.
At some point, face it, the left party will effectively control Congress. If it’s not in the 2026 election, it will be in the 2028 election, or perhaps a bit later than that.
In any event, when the left party does effectively control Congress, either it will
– have moved a bit rightward, enough so that their remaining non-lunatics have regained ascendance, or it will
– hasten to pack the court, admit more blue states, abolish the Electoral College, administer reparations to people of color, and impeach Trump again if he’s still alive.
My odds on the two eventualities are 0.01 percent and 99.99 percent, respectively.
I short, we good guys are doomed, if not this year, then at some point relatively soon.
