BREAKING: The Virginia Supreme Court has struck down the Democrat-backed gerrymandering referendum. In a 4-3 opinion written by a judicial appointee of Democrat Mark Warner, the court determined that the process used by Democrats to rig the redistricting process was unconstitutional.
“On March 6, 2026, the General Assembly of Virginia submitted to Virginia voters a proposed constitutional amendment that authorizes partisan gerrymandering of congressional districts in the Commonwealth,” the majority wrote. “We hold that the legislative process employed to advance this proposal violated Article XII, Section 1 of the Constitution of Virginia.”
“This constitutional violation incurably taints the resulting referendum vote and nullifies its legal efficacy,” the court ruled.
The Democratic gambit led by Gov. Spanberger to gerrymander virtually every GOP district out of Virginia has backfired in spectacular fashion. The state Supreme Court has now nullified the results of the redistricting vote…
Awesome news from Virginia. Dems lose the $80 million they invested in getting four extra seats. With the reaction going on to this and to the Callais decision across the South, the Dems wished-for takeover of the House looks less certain.
@Kate:Dems wished-for takeover of the House looks less certain
It was always going to be harder than media has been making it out to be. They can’t run Generic Not-Trump. They have to have an actual human candidate, and that human candidate is going to be someone like Graham Platner. In a place that isn’t already owned by the Left those candidates are weird and off-putting.
@Watt:this graphic. Very interesting.
It is interesting, only the English races are largely going to Reform. In Scotland and Wales the Left is still doing quite well, in Wales at the expense of Labor and Conservative just like in England with Reform.
Doesn’t affect Parliament directly and it’s misleading to describe these as “midterms” as Glahn at Powerline does. They’re just on a different system.
It will be interesting to see if this persists long enough to affect the next Parliamentary elections, whenever they end up being (they can happen at any time, but MUST happen every five years). It would not surprise me to see Conservatives join with Labor to shut out Reform, but I’m cynical.
Contextualize:
To consider something or to help other people consider something in its context (= the situation within which it exists or happens), which can help explain it:
– examples
• We need to contextualize the problem before we can understand its origin.
• Displays at the museum help to contextualize each work of art.
• Kate’s post above.
I’m surprised Snow hasn’t shown up talking about the UFO data drop. As expected the Daily Mail is featuring the most out of the files. I’ve looked through what they’ve put up, both stills and video, but nothing really convinces me that it’s aliens. I can come up with a reasonable physical explanation within a few seconds for what is seen without having to resort to alien spacecraft. More grainy videos, more written witness accounts without physical evidence. Believe me, I would like nothing better than actual proof of alien life/intelligence. It would be a major turning point in human history. I haven’t seen it yet. More declassification in the works apparently, so we shall see.
Barry,
So ITER got a bigger magnet….yawn… the scam continues. Relevant quote from the article:
“While the delivery of the solenoid marks a major milestone, ITER is still years away from achieving first plasma, around €22 billion and nearly two decades after breaking ground.”
Evidence? Evidence! Unicorns don’t need no stinkin evidence!
When you are in or past the Van Allen belts , I would suspect that the high energy particles you are subjected to might cause you to see ” lights” . Seems I read somewhere about that possiblity.
That being said, I remain open minded to a number of possibilities. Natural phenomena, aliens , something from the spiritual realm, hallucinations – all of the above depending on the particular report.
Thanks, physicsguy, for looking at those “UFO” files with an educated eye.
in other news it seems kharg island is leaking fuel, either from the overflow storage tanks or deliberately, while the iranians seem to shooting their own foot, intercepting tankers with oil they carry, to venues like the PRC
yes, interesting but not definitive, we didn’t expect an x files denounement
roy cooper who was the previous governor in north carolina, pretends to be moderate, but we know better, (does it seem like the current governor is not making himself known,
Re: UFOs and aliens
I don’t expect these disclosures to prove the presence of aliens. If the government knows that for sure, I doubt they will release a smoking gun.
I see UFOs as a phenomenon or a collection of them, which we don’t understand. Some can be explained, but there remains a hard kernel which can’t be explained, at least not yet.
So we will continue to get anomalous accounts, photos, video footage, etc. which tantalize but don’t prove anything positive.
The military knows more, but regular scientists mostly avoid the subject for career reasons.
Just another grand distraction.

miguel,
They’re just trying a slightly different gambit…which will be taken up with gusto:
That Big Satan(TM) / Zionist Devil Trump is causing a HYUGE environmental catastrophe!!!
(Either that or they’re refining the definition of Nihilism for us dweebs…)
