Pause for the dentist
I’ve got to go to the dentist now for what I hope will be the finishing touches to my root canal.
I’m still planning other posts today – but in the meantime, you can talk about dentists – or shoes and ships and sealing wax, cabbages and kings.

I am reliably informed that pigs, however, do not have wings.
Just ask the Walrus and the Carpenter about wooden teeth.
Had a root canal myself a couple years back. It actually wasn’t too bad since they gave me an obscene amount of novocaine, so much that it took about 4 hours afterwards until I achieved full sensation again. The whole procedure took over an hour, but most of that time was actually waiting for the novocaine to take. They gave me a bunch initially then had to give me even more since I could still feel a bit. The actual drilling & nerve extraction only took around 20 – 25 minutes or so.
The application of the crown took place a week or so later by my own dentitist and that only took maybe 45 minutes. Most of that was due to the milling of the new crown by a nifty crown milling machine my dentist had in her office.
Good luck Neo
I remember the prelude to this was a horror story, Neo, and I hope this procedure is fast, painless, and permanent!
I’m back home, and let’s hope the repair is permanent. You never know. This part today wasn’t a big deal – although there are no small deals at the dentist’s office, dollar-wise.
Cabbages yes, but “no kings” lest there be wailing and gnashing of liberal protests.
