Do you like? Dislike?
Trump’s presidency does have a style all its own:
I laugh every time that Mariachi band pops up behind Jeffries. Plus, I was amused by Schumer sputtering about the deep fake — yea, it was really convincing, I thought it was real cartoon sombrero and moustache on him!
It’s like Trump has taken a page out of the South Park Kathleen Kennedy character’s playbook, altering “Put a chic in it and make her gay!” to “Put a sombrero, mustache and mariachi band on them and make them gay!” Only difference is Trump’s formula works hilarilously, whereas Kennedy’s kills the franchise.
If I were a bot, I’d write:
“Congratulations! Your blog is very funny today!”
Jeffries let it be known that he was very angry about the sombrero, et al so Trump had no choice but to do a follow-up. https://x.com/i/status/1973194144593092615
The more he fought it the more he got it.
Their late-night “comedians” aren’t funny, but Trump is.
First off, I got a good laugh out of it. The complaints by Jeffries and Schumer – and pretty much everyone else, are laughable. These people have called Trump Hitler, a Fascist, an Authoritarian, a racist, a homophobe, a misogynist, a threat to Democracy, a liar, and many other insults. They have deployed a long list of lawfare charges from impeachments to defamation to criminal fraud and possession of secret and other classified government documents. They raided his home and rifled through his wife’s personal affects. They tried to assassinate him, twice.
Those two Democrat clowns should be happy that this is the worst he’s done in response.
The Dems are just stupid. The whole point is to make them react as if they were in the 3rd grade, which of course they do. If they (the politicians) could pull themselves together and commit to not reacting, they might have a chance of deflating Trump. If they’re asked on the news what they think, just say, I haven’t seen it or, I really have no opinion.
I loved it.
@Watt I agree. Would be even better for the Dems if they laughed it off and said it is an obvious troll by Trump, nothing serious.
OMG. I’d seen that out and about, but hadn’t clicked on it. I thought I kind of got the idea just from the picture. I’ve never been more wrong about anything in my life. That was great!
As I said in yesterday’s thread..laughing at the Ds drives them bonkers. Trump knows this and keeps piling on. The rest of us can just enjoy the show.
Seeing how these couple of troll videos have gotten under the Democrat’s skin, irritated them, and made them react angrily, it seems to me that this form of political attack is extremely effective, and if Trump can keep attacking them with a continuing series of such savvy and effective videos, such continuing irritation can be a very disruptive tool for use against the Dems.
Moreover, their reaction also points out just how perpetually angry, thin skinned, and humorless the Democrats are, and I really don’t think that they have the savvy to reply in kind.
I didn’t immediately realize that the Mariachi band that popped up was all Donald Trumps – when that realization kicked in, it was sublime.
P.S. Yes, the Democrats can hurl all of the unimaginative, standard insults, lies, accusations, and curses–and they have been for many years , but when it comes to taking a little return fire, as the saying goes,”they can dish it out, but they can’t take it.”
I’ve seen the thought expressed elsewhere that Trump is simply doing the work that late night comedians refuse to do, and I think that sentiment is spot on. The media is in the pocket of the Democrats. Democrat politicians are a protected class.
Satire is a very effective tool, especially when it provokes an outraged response that indicates the target previously thought they were out of reach, and had good reason to think so.
And of course MSNBC, like the dopes they are, walk right into the trap.
Can you say ‘Streisand Effect’?
What a time to be alive!
Amazing that some of the trolling segments are only 5 to 10 seconds long – but that is all it takes.
And it took me a second or two to realize that the “AI Schumer dialog” was not him explaining a real Dem response but his “voice” mouthing the reality they want to keep hidden (and doing a poor job of it).
One downside of too many AI trollings is if/when someone obtains and surfaces a real undercover expose conversation, they will sweep it away with claims of “AI deep fake”, not real, etc., as they did with Hunter’s laptop.
It appears that Trump has read Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals.
“Rule 5: Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It’s hard to counterattack ridicule, and it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage.
Rule 6: A good tactic is one your people enjoy. “If your people aren’t having a ball doing it, there is something very wrong with the tactic.”
Rule 8: Keep the pressure on. Use different tactics and actions and use all events of the period for your purpose. “The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition. It is this that will cause the opposition to react to your advantage.”
At least it seems that way.
I loved it. Because there is a strong strain of self-righteousness among our friends in the Democratic Party, it infuriates them to be laughed at. I am the GOOD PERSON fighting against the EVIL PEOPLE, and I WILL be taken seriously.
Schumer wants to make it clear that the troll video is NOT a video of him actually speaking. I am reminded of the oft-repeated cry that the Babylon Bee is peddling disinformation. Get Snopes etc. to evaluate the “truth” of what the Babylon Bee is saying, the Democrat poo-bahs shout. No, the Bee is peddling satire. Ditto this example of Trump trolling Jeffries and Schumer.
Keep it up, President Trump. Yes, Trump’s trolling is “divisive.” Those objecting to his trolling conveniently forget that Democrats from Biden on down have been calling us deplorables, Nazis, Fascists, racist, what have you, for years and years.
There is wit to Trump’s trolling. The Democrats’ litany of deplorables, Nazis, Fascists, racist, what have you, lacks wit. It is the equivalent of a five year old calling someone a poopy-head.
J.J., good point about Alinsky.
It gave me a laugh, which is a good thing in these times. Poking fun at Demoncrats is also good!
I do wish the video hadn’t used obscene language.
Gringo: “The Democrats’ litany … lacks wit”
Not entirely lacking. About 50% if you follow my drift.
I voted for that!
Okay, this video-hating person just watched that entire Daily Caller clip. I laughed out loud! The all-Donald mariachi band is hysterical!
“Sombrero Diplomacy is one of the most brilliant political maneuvers I have ever seen.” From comments at Don Surber this morning. Sombrero Diplomacy, good one!
The best part of this is that you know that sombrero and thick black mustache meme–Trump playing background music included–is, from now on, going to stick to Hakim Jeffries, and is never really going to go away.
It’s going to be like the really annoying dog shit you step in, have a hellava time cleaning out of the cleats in your shoes, and whose residue you can never totally remove.
P.S. Moreover, responding to this meme takes time and energy away from the Democrats actually coming up with strategies and actions; its a big, time wasting distraction, but one they are almost forced to address.
J.D. Vance was trolled with something or other a while ago; I don’t remember the content because he laughed it off as a good joke, and it fizzled out. What’s driving this is Jeffries’s and Schumer’s outrage at being laughed at.
Kate–The Dems tried a “Minions” meme, but it didn’t stick like this one has.
The meme war continues–*

Who knew democrats don’t have a sense of humor.
I knew, John. 🙂
Wonderful on all counts!
I especially liked the irony of MSNBC’s response…
The guy Democrats called “Taco”, put out a video trolling their boilerplate pre-shutdown press statement?
The horror.
@ John > “Who knew democrats don’t have a sense of humor.”
I was reminded of this now-quite-old joke.
Q: How many feminists does it take to change a light bulb?
A: That’s not funny!
