  1. Saw a video of protestors blocking a road in NYC.
Seems someone could get together a class action lawsuit for all the people that are essentially held hostage in these ” peace full ” road blockages and can’t turn around.

  2. To paraphrase Joseph Conrad, “The virtue! The VIRTUE!”

“JUDGE-SHOPPING DIDN’T WORK THIS TIME, IT SEEMS:”—

    Key grafs:

…Democrats don’t want immigration laws enforced; especially in California.

They use emotion to defend illegal immigration, but here’s what they don’t tell you:

Illegal immigrants inflate California’s census numbers, which boosts its House seats and electoral votes.

It’s not just “compassion”. It’s political power.

    [Emphasis mine; Barry M.]

  3. Water cannons are appropriate.

    Bill Barr couldn’t be bothered.
    Portland begat Chop
    Begat L.A.
    Begat Atlanta
    What is rewarded is repeated.
The costs of doing nothing, Bill, comes due.

  4. Barry M.,

It’s not just congressional representation. School districts get money based on how many students they have and average daily attendance. In a school district like Santa Ana, CA if all the illegals were removed the district would have to do some serious belt tightening.

Am sure also that cities get block grants from the feds based on their population.

There are probably more ways than could be counted that local, county, and state government agencies profit from the presence of illegals.

And then you have the mayor of Los Angeles blathering on about how much of her city’s workforce are foreigners, legal and otherwise, seemingly bragging about it. Not even a hint of self awareness of the fact that a large part of the reason many people think Los Angeles is a s**thole is due to it having become, in effect, just another poor Mexican or Central American city.

  5. Now knowing where karen bass comes from sorry companera bass the goal is not that amusing but understandable from her point of view

The citizens of los angeles could have had a competent mayor in rick caruso but they had to virtue signal and much of what has happened in the last year and a half would not have happened bear in mind gavin would still gum up the workd

  6. Arrest rioters and judges free them with a wrist slap, ready to repeat. RICO the hell out of the NGOs, and bankrupt them. Then go after their sponsors and bankrupt them too. If Trump does nothing else, this might bring peace to America!

  7. Declare an insurrection and round up the insurrectionists and hold them as prisoners of war. Cast a wide net.

  8. Brian Wilson was a true innovator in terms of audio production and multitrack sound engineering decades before Pro Tools existed. Pet Sounds was a landmark achievement in pop recording. Certainly had the best version of Sloop John B.

  9. I would like to see lawsuits against individual protestors who block streets , not just organizations.
That would scare some away from these ” protest” and likely force others back into mask – which hurts their image even more.
I’m thinking of unmasked man bun in the video from NYC who had some dismissive comment towards a lady who just trying to go to work.
He may not have any money, but sue him anyway. I wish someone on our side would finance such lawsuits.
If I had the big bucks, this is the kind of thing I would do.
These days all I can afford to do is give some money to my church and occasionally a couple of Christian group foster homes ( In previous generations called ” Orphanages” , but many of these kids are children of people who are alive but can’t or will not take care of their kids.)
But if I had a lot of money I would help our side with lawfare type stuff also.

  10. Brian Wilson was pre-boomer. Speaking of boomers, I’m getting tired of the boomer bash from the young. Boomers didn’t open the door to third world immigrants. Later boomers suffered forced bussing and affirmative action and so on. Biden and Pelosi aren’t boomers either.

  11. Yes, RIP Brian Wilson. Truly a wonderful musician, songwriter, arranger, producer and bandleader!

He was born in 1942, part of the Silent Generation. Thankfully he wasn’t silent!

  12. Tulsi’s weird anti-nuclear war video.

    https://x.com/TulsiGabbard/status/1932368919039459348

I want to state that I am against nuclear war. Except in the case of Japan in August 1945, where the two nuclear weapons saved hundreds of thousands of lives both Japanese and Americans.

As Senator John Kennedy said, “Tulsi’s off her meds.”

  13. Well, it seems that Tulsi hasn’t quite reached the unsexing level of Lady Macbeth, or of Margaret Thatcher. Nor has a recently appointed Supreme Court justice.

  14. Chases Eagles: I’m with you! I’m so tired of the Boomer-bashing. There were 9 million of us, and we’re not clones! I’m especially tired of hearing how “easy” I had it in my youth. NOT. People have NO IDEA.

  15. Sometimes all you need from the Babylon Bee is the headlines.

  16. As a digression: what are those flowers? I’ve always lived in the Deep South, and I don’t remember ever seeing them. Northern or non-native?

  17. Just at a glance and somewhat doubtful due to scaling difficulty (though the grey pot in the background helps a bit), I’d say we’re looking at a clematis vine there, LoFan.

  18. Barry Meislin interesting and scary article regarding COVID-19 origins. Like almost everybody I have had it. I Don’t notice any neurological symptoms. We’re always the last to know. ? But I have noticed long-term weakness. I’m not looking for any medicine, but I have been researching dietary and other approaches to reducing the side effects.

  19. Bob, minimally speaking, it wouldn’t hurt (for anyone, actually) to take a Quercetin capsule once or so daily and supplement your zinc levels if you think they’re low, though one generally gets enough of the latter from a decent diet.

If you’ve had one or several of the shots/boosters—this wasn’t clear to me—and/or you think you may be suffering from long Covid, you might want to consider Ivermectin, the suppression of which by Fauci & Co. is one of the great crimes of this whole sordid saga—right up there with the whole series of coverups, in fact.

And then there’s vitamin D to supplement, if needed (though not to exaggerate).

Best see a physician who knows about these things and is NOT still shackled by the absurd but still far too influential narrative…

    Good luck!

  20. @neo:Yes, it’s clematis.

I don’t know flowers, and I had thought at first that was some kind of bindweed, so I had really wanted to take some RoundUp to it. But it had eight petals and not five, so I looked it up. Some kinds of clematis are somewhat invasive in some places but nothing like the bindweed / morning glories.

  21. RE: The fate of Rome’s famed Legio IX, Hispania–

One of the major mysteries in ancient Roman history has been the fate of the famous Ninth Legion, Hispania–a very battle hardened and experienced legion which had been assigned to a number of hot spots, and had successfully engaged in some of the toughest fighting in the Roman world.

It was last stationed in England, in York, and, apparently, sometime between 108 and 120 A.D., it just marched off and disappeared–no mention of them ever again, the legion stuck from the usual list of legions, no monuments were erected to it’s existence and record and, thereafter, the Ninth Legion was never again mentioned by the Emperor, or in the Senate.

Over the centuries all sorts of theories have been proposed as to the Legion’s fate.

In 2024 an overhead survey found what has pretty certainly turned out to be the site of the legion’s last stand in Scotland (many thousands of the the remains of people killed in battle, and among many other indicative findings they’ve also excavated a legionnaire’s ring with the Ninth’s bull insignia at the site).

Excavations are still underway, and parallel research has also been conducted in various archives—records reexamined, including some new clues in documents and histories in the Vatican Library, which had previously been closed to researchers.

Given the archeological and documentary evidence found so far, the current theory is that the Emperor and/or the Senate feared that the Ninth Legion—many of whose members were apparently seen as conservative “traditionalists,” some who had also married into Scottish families—and were apparently feared to have “gone native,” thus, the Ninth was no longer seen as reliably 100% Roman in outlook or allegiance.

In other words, the Ninth had become dangerous.

Thus, the Ninth was ordered out into Scotland, into “Indian country,” and it was deliberately left there, surrounded by apparently overwhelming hostile native forces.

Without any of the reinforcements or supplies they requested (an excavated wax tablet attested to this dire situation)—the soldiers of the Ninth were eventually overwhelmed and slaughtered by the barbarians; problem eliminated.*

    https://justthenews.com/accountability/whistleblowers/covid-cover-probes-focus-early-military-intel-virus-was-manufactured
    Key grafs:

An elite unit of scientists working for the Defense Intelligence Agency concluded three months after the pandemic began that COVID-19 likely was genetically manufactured and escaped a Chinese lab rather than evolving in nature as Dr. Anthony Fauci claimed, a bombshell revelation now at the heart of ongoing investigations into a possible U.S. intelligence cover-up….

… The study – using complex genome analysis – also traced the process used for creating the new virus to an earlier manuscript that the Wuhan Institute of Virology published a decade prior….

…The long-hidden study was only recently released under the Freedom of Information Act by U.S. intelligence agencies, a bombshell now at the center of ongoing investigations.…
