Who is Mohsen Mahdawi (sometimes spelled Madawi), what’s he been doing here, and why was he detained at his citizenship appointment? — 27 Comments

  1. I just hope that the Trump admin can deport him. Just too much stupidity coming from the Left.
( I am being circumspect in saying “deport”. Any means necessary)

  2. Doesn’t matter, just as women marry death row men, he will be believed and supported!

  3. If you claim to want to become an American citizen, probably not a good strategy to refer to Palestinians as “my people” shortly before your interview. Just sayin.

  4. There has never been a country named Palestine in the middle east, It is imaginary like Wakanda and the palestinians are the imaginary citizens of this imaginary country,

  5. AOC said people are just being disappeared. In what episode does this begin? This is a crappy plot line. Who is writing this show anyway?

  6. These campus protests were far more than free speech with which I disagree. They interfered with classes and in many cases caused class cancellations, directly intimidated and in some cases assaulted Jewish students, and caused considerable property damage and vandalism. None of these actions should lead to U.S. citizenship or continued U.S. residence.

  7. You’d think some source outside the Canary, a source trying to do some kind of journalism, would have been more forthright. Not necessarily the NYT or Atlantic, of course. But some…?

  8. The screenwriters of quantico that was a crazy series from the first trump term with the chopra gal

The people who are still on the khashoggi funeral dirge wont touch this

That includes the wall street journal

Jess bravin for instance believed all the innocent gitmo detainee tales

  9. Im speculating that aid sponsored his f1 visa out of bir zeit a notorious hamas sanctuary for what reason they picked him

The most positive view is they scouted by some agency, perhaps knowing his sympathies

This was the scenario in the first gabriel allon book a certain person we discover has tipped off the mossads ari shamron
About another person tariq hourani a younger version of abu nidal (silva relies on first revisionist benny morris accounts

  10. Re: Abrego Garcia

Garcia is a similar cause célèbre for the media. He’s the “Maryland father” who was “mistakenly deported” to the El Salvador prison.

He is an El Salvador citizen who illegally entered the US when he was 16. He married an American and has children in Maryland. He has a very murky history in our legal system, which I’m not going to attempt to summarize.

He may have fled from El Salvador because he was threatened by the terrorist gang, MS-13. Or he may actually have been a member of MS-13, as our law enforcement came to believe and Garcia never effectively contested.

I’m sorry if Garcia is as innocent as he claims. Though he is in the US illegally.

Megyn Kelly does an entertaining segment from the pro-Trump POV.

Excuse me, I need to think about buying some gold.

  11. So hes the son of a fatah police officer who died during the second intifada

    From 2014

This event, organized by the Public Relations Committee for the security and governorate services, comes in conjunction with the memory of the martyrdom of Commander Khalil Al-Wazir ‘Abu Jihad’ and to commemorate the martyrs of this battle in which the occupation forces used heavy mechanisms and warplanes against the sons of the security services who confronted the occupation soldiers during their attempt to storm the town of Tamun in September 12, 2001 led to the death of: Director of Preventive Security at the time, Colonel Tawfiq Jaber Captain Thaer Mahdawi from Preventive Security, and Lieutenant Shaher Bani Odeh from the General Intelligence, and dozens of others

Kharkaji, the deputy governor, Ahmed Asaad, the deputy governor of Qalqilya Abdel Hamid Al-Dik, the secretary of the Fatah Mahmoud and Lowell movement, the mayor of Osman Dawood, the director of preventive security, Colonel Saeed Al-Attari, his deputy and the activities of the national and

  12. Re: MS-13

I feel a sad twinge whenever I see that gang name.

For me MS-13 will always be MS-13, the lovely globular cluster in the constellation Hercules, easily visible by binoculars in the summer night sky.

MS refers to Charles Messier (1730-1817), a French astronomer who was really interested in comets so he compiled a list of fuzzy astronomical objects which might be mistaken for comets.

  13. Its named after a particular savage brand of fire ant, mara salvatrucha

When there was there was movement against this factioni recall they made all sort of excuses including blaming us trained salvadoran nco, for creating this gang

  14. True justice for Palestine would involve Arthur Harris and Curtis LeMay actions in Gaza.

  15. I am way past being revolted by attempts for the USA to act “fairly”. We are dealing with hate-filled foreigners who take advantage of our national charitable instincts and actions. No other country on the planet is as gentle and caring for the putative “rights” of immoral, nasty people as the US is.
Time to make some omelets. Let’s crack some eggs.

  16. The judge who issued the stay was pat leahys campaign manager william sessions (no relation)

  17. He is—they are—protesting the fact that their numerous efforts to obliterate the Jewish State have thus far failed.

I guess that from a “certain” point of view they have a point…and many would seem to agree with them….
(Cf. Richard Falk, who has recently crawled out of his hole to opine on his rather selective version of Human Rights(TM).)

Hence he is—they are—victims of the fact that Israel has not YET been erased. Destroyed.

(Not his—their—fault, really; they’ve been doing their best. In fact, October 7th wasn’t all that shabby but STILL, the Jews refused to fold. Freakin’ Jews. And THEY clamor for liberty. For freedom. For redemption. All the freakin’ time….
    Freakin’ hypocrites.
    CRIMINALS!
    OPPRESSORS!
    COLONIALISTS!
    ZIOS!
What right do THEY have to exist, anyway, if they refuse to allow their enemies to destroy them??)

AND it’s a great time to be a “victim”, unless one belongs to certain special groups, in which case one can NEVER, by definition, BE a victim, AND in which case one can never be persecuted, and prosecuted enough.

  18. Ah richard falk the one who called khomeini a iranian dissident thats kind of true ‘from a certain point of view’

Just as with the company paying the black prince ali salameh the son of haj amins chief aide
Who carried out munich while abu mazen the old man the kgbs man did the fund raising these are the games they play

Salamehs contribution didnt stop habbashs crew from killing noel and moore in sudan or the ambassador in lebanon two years later

Sometime later like obama he transferred to columbia* around the time he penned that note to dilal meghrabi who slaughtered those people on the israeli coast, not much of a buddhist
Unlike the kilmar abrego case they do acknowledge the authority in order to reproach them fwiw

  20. Well…as Decent Joe said, “I admire their passion”…or something like that….

(Or was it “their verve”, or maybe “their panache”? “Their caring”?…)

  21. Hmm, looks like that arson attack on the Governor of Pennsylvania could be classified as a “freedom of speech” issue.

    Could be….

Though it’s really a shame that the alleged perp is a white male. (The least he should have done was self-identify, beforehand, as a woman of color, along with declaring the requisite pronouns…. OTOH, being a “Defender of Palestinians” would ordinarily be enough to get off with a slap on the wrist, though perhaps not in this case and/or if one is the wrong ethnicity…)

  22. SCOTTthe BADGER wrote, “True justice for Palestine would involve Arthur Harris and Curtis LeMay actions in Gaza.”

Yep. General Curtis LeMay, in the aftermath of WWII, said, “I’ll tell you what war is. You have to kill people. When you’ve killed enough, they stop fighting.”

Consistently, I’ve long said of the “Palestinians” that, as a group, they’ve earned every bit of lethal misery anyone would choose to inflict on them.

I was previously unfamiliar with any quotes from Arthur (“Bomber”) Harris of the WWII Royal Air Force, but there are a bunch here: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0365337/quotes/
