The US needs to adjust whatever permitting rules prevent the mixing of natural gas and many forms of trash as a fuel for electric generation. I realize some of the artificial materials may create unsafe emissions, but I wonder if some of that could be abated with catalyst.
Jon baker, are there energy-producing incinerators of that kind? It sounds like that’s what you’re describing. This is new to me.

I don’t know. But a lot of trash would be an exothermic reaction . The issue would be the pollution. In it’s simplest form it would have to be like an external combustion steam boiler.
If you could pulverizer the trash into small enough pieces, maybe an internal combustion generator.
Years ago there was a system that could convert slaughterhouse waste into heating oil for houses.
I don’t know if the economics worked.
