Wine-Banks said, “I’m relieved and thrilled that he did it, this was one of the cases that called out clemency.
***
She added, “I also hope that President Biden will also issue preemptive pardons to all of those people threatened by the injustice of what will become the Department of Justice in the Trump administration. That includes Jack Smith and all of his staff, many Department of Justice lawyers, it includes President Biden himself, although we don’t know that anyone can legally pardon themselves. He will need a pardon because he is going to be harassed and charged for no crimes whatsoever. Donald Trump has promised that.”
Prosecutor Wine-Banks doesn’t understand how dangerous the situation is about to become for Progressives – Keith Olbermann does:
Every prosecutor, every Biden administration staffer, every media figure, everybody Trump will persecute.
10,000,000 pardons. At least.
At least 10,000,000 pardons will be needed, IMHO. George Soros and everyone connected to his attempt at overthrowing America. Heads of Teacher Unions, School Boards, Schools and Teachers involved in promoting Child Butchery (AKA Crimes against Humanity)—oh, and the hospitals & doctors who worked hand-in-hand with those criminals. Yeah, Keith knows what is coming…
Ah, pardon before conviction, that is the new American way.
Now, Trump can pardon all those that the left went after, including J6. Make the Dems pay!!!!
Honestly, it’s cartoonish how ridiculous the Biden’s are. If someone was writing a fictional story or screenplay treatment with similar characters, I think people would find them too stereotypically over the top and therefore unrealistic.
A large number of those proposed 10 million didn’t commit prosecutable crimes, but lots of them should be fired.
Kate, even if they didn’t commit a prosecutable crime, go Dem on them and prosecute them anyway
Trump needs to make sure and loudly distinguish between Jan 6 persons who just walked thru open doors and did no damage and those who attacked police. Pardons for the first, but not the latter.
…In short, it couldn’t be any more obvious that Hunter was simply the Biden family bag-man….
Karmi, ye’ fergot t’ mention the good Doc Fauci and his cronies, and all the COMPLICIT NIH ‘n CDC folks…
Oh yeah, and the Wonderful Media!!
Barry Meislin, yeah – sorry. Tried to make another list but it was too long for the comment section. Just talked with Keith and we decided that 10,000,000 pardons is way too low. I’m updating to 100,000,000 after remembering Fauci, that well known Poller who claimed Trump was gonna lose when she knew it was wrong, neighbor down the street with a Harris sign, Oprah for that interview…anyway, list is too long.
100,000,000 pardons and counting!
If these pre-prosecution pardons are legitimate, then Trump should simply kill them all. Wipe the democrats out literally. Then pardon himself and all the killers.
The “Biden issues 10,000,000 pardons between now and January 20th” scenario isn’t all bad, and might even be good for the GOP.
For one, it would distract Trump and some of his nominees from Trump’s basest and most unpopular instincts. It would focus Trump on governing going forward instead of revenge. (I can’t tell the extent to which the bluster of Trump, Patel, and others about revenge is real and how much is blowing off steam/firing up the base. To the extent that it is Trump’s intention, it will backfire. Trump won, in large part, because of Democrats’ lawfare and abuse of power. I don’t think the electorate will approve of equal and opposite lawfare any more than it approved of Democrats’ original.)
Next, it would create a generational narrative that Democrats are corrupt and needed to perform a mass pardon to cover up their own misdeeds. This would be Trump’s revenge. Democrats would be (more or less) admitting everything that Trump alleged. Democrats’ mass pardon would become fodder for every GOP candidate for a generation – “Democrats are so corrupt that their last president had to preemptively pardon his own administration before leaving office.”
It is for the second reason that I doubt Biden would actually do it. On the other hand, no one has ever gone broke betting on the venality and mediocrity of Joe Biden.
It would focus Trump on governing going forward instead of revenge.
==
Cleaning up corrupted public agencies is going to require quite a bit of revenge.
name an agency that has lived up to it’s mission, either the security services, or the public health agencies, what does one do with Dr Fauci for instance, his blood price was a million dead, round figures,
the Dems pardoned and expunged the vast majority of the 2020 rioters, the J 20 rioters in 2017,
a real insurrection,
how about the FBI Miami office, that authorized the Maralago raid,
You think that if Harris had won, the Dems would have played nice? It is not revenge. It is Retribution.
I agree that Trump should be selective on the J6th pardons – start with the non-violent people wandering around the Capitol acting like tourists and give them a full pardon with restoration of voting rights. For those who were violent, shorten their sentences to time served. For other people, check the “crime” and unequal prosecution such as silent protest at an abortion clinic vs firebombing maternal health centers.
Trump and his staff should concentrate on cleaning up the government and less on reviewing past issues. The next two years are critical to get things done, including new judges. If he doesn’t make changes, then we will lose the midterms.
The Rs meed to continue the get out the vote by having a Scott P. type person in each state and looking for good solid people to put in office from Education Boards to mayors, local and state positions so we continue to build the base.
So, who is surprised that joke Bidet pardoned his son??
It was a slam dunk that after election day this would happen.
On another note, maybe someone can help me out here:
how is it that children are showing up at the Texas/Mexico border without their parents and/or otherwise unaccompanied??
Where are the parents?
Are these children kidnapped from their homes?
Speaking of the “37” video;
what’s really interesting is that the vast majority of people have no idea that 37 is a prime number (though for sure they realize it’s an “odd,” not an “even,” number) , much less know what a prime number is.
it’s a peculiar number as its opposite, there was a line in the Accountant I think, where they mention a number derived by two primes, like that
the cartels provide transports, the different NGO provide logistic and transportation, HIAS Catholic Service et al, this sort of service was one of Spectre’s sidelines, it was downplayed by what happened to one who represented that division of Spectre
if you haven’t figured out that Watergate was manufactured outrage, well there you go,
I remember how they tried to replay the outrage machine with Iran Contra, but Ollie was too smart on that score,
the wurlitzer, was dialed up to eleven with the clinton panoply of scandals,
they all made sure to memorize the scalia dissent in Morrison,
I agree that Trump should be selective on the J6th pardons
==
You’re wrong.
Not a lawyer but I guess Hunter’s pardon means that he can’t plead the fifth amendment if he’s summoned to testify about criminal activities in the last ten years. Joe Biden hasn’t pardoned himself yet, has he?
Oops…
“Lest there be any understanding” (above)
Should be “…any misunderstanding”.
The problem at this point is that the nexus of attitudes encapsulated in the phrase ‘party of wokeness and moral condescension’ is all they have left. To the extent they have any programme, it is to continue shoveling cash at their clients and take measures to injure the social segments they despise. The rot goes all the way down. You won’t find a partisan Democrat whose political views are not reducible to expressions of hostility.
The “Biden issues 10,000,000 pardons between now and January 20th” scenario isn’t all bad, and might even be good for the GOP.
Is someone parodying Bauxite and posting under his name?
Something like 75 million people already KNEW that the outgoing administration is corrupt and they voted accordingly. The 75 million who didn’t, don’t want to believe it and won’t no matter what they do. They are already lining up to praise Biden for pardoning his son after lining up to praise Biden for promising to not pardon his son.
All that mass pardons would do would be to make it hard to punish Deep State wrongdoing, which is really what the parody Bauxite account cares most about: that the Deep State never, ever be held accountable.
On the other hand, no one has ever gone broke betting on the venality and mediocrity of Joe Biden.
In fact, I read that one of the betting markets paid off 4-1 on Joe pardoning Hunter. I wish I’d thought of getting in on that action.
In addition to pardoning the J6ers, I hope they prosecute the cop who murdered Ashli Babbitt. That is, if Biden doesn’t pardon him too.
Apropos of nothing, this poem that was referred by judy dench in skyfall,
the Labour party seemed to moderate itself under Tony Blair, after their shellacking under Thatcher but we have seen how false that was, with the Corbyn resurgence, and we have seen how the charming Mr Starmer has behaved,
The video is kind of anti-information. For example, some of what they are attributing to “37” is actually due to e, which really IS everywhere, along with its partner in crime, pi. They’re converting 1/e to a percentage and rounding it to get 37.
Likewise “normal” human body temperature is not exactly 37C, that’s just a commonly used stand-in for the population average.
It’s pretty easy to take any number in isolation and make it seem marvelous, especially when you cheat like they are.
e on the other hand really is an extraordinary number. For example, if something happens on average once every so often, like a 100-year flood, then the chance that it actually happens exactly once in that time is 1/e, about 36.7%. The chance of it not happening at all in that time is also 1/e, and the remaining 26%-ish covers it happening more than once in that time.
e also has a strange connection to pi, through the complex numbers:
e^(i pi) + 1 = 0
And that’s the five most interesting numbers: 0, 1, pi, e, and i (the square root of negative 1), all connected through one formula.
Re: Learning guitar
I can’t believe how much guitar is an athletic endeavor. I fool around with chords and songs, but mostly all I do is chromatic scales.
I’m building up strength, flexibility, and technique. I work in 5-10 minute spurts several times a day. It’s not something that can be hurried. I’m learning to play with as little effort as possible. Otherwise I have to take a few days off for the soreness to subside.
ChatGPT tells me this is a normal experience, though it’s not often discussed.
The good news is that I enjoy doing scales. I’m not sure why. I feel relaxed, just sitting and playing my guitar.
Pardons for crimes not yet prosecuted and ending in a finding or plea of guilt are clearly invalid. Just look at the nonsense we are logically concluding otherwise.
POTUS can’t pardon himself because he cannot be prosecuted until he leaves office. Anything else leads to theater of the absurd. Nor can he issue blanket pardons for his administration.
the ouroboros type contortions they enable themselves into,
Doing this from memory, but one way to get e is from continuous compounding of interest. Start with (1+r/n)^n, let n go to infinity, and you get e^r. I think.
huxley…guitar:
I only play songs and have never learned any scales. I do enjoy learning iconic riffs within songs, but only to make them more complete. eg, the George Harrison middle section in Badge.
I have found a connection between golf and guitar. 95% of the time my golf game is mid 90s. Then there’s that one day in the zone where it all goes great with no effort. And the one day it’s all shit. Same with guitar…a day will happen where I hit all the timing perfectly, smooth chord changes, great sounds way above my normal level. Then the day I put the guitar away after 10 minutes.
BTW, pick up a D’addario hand exerciser…does wonders..15 bucks on Amazon
@miguel:what does e represent as a constant
It’s the sum of the reciprocals of the factorials:
Can also be got by continuously compounding interest, as Jimmy points out, and I think was first derived in that context.
It also produces a mathematical function that is its own derivative:
(d e^x) / dx = e^x
e shows up in interest, radioactive decay, population growth, probability, etc.
Any time anyone talks about “exponential growth” they are implicitly referencing e, but most of the people who name-drop that concept don’t really know what it means, in my experience. It’s a very specific and bold statement and not a synonym for “grows really fast” or even “grows without limit”. Its ignorant misuse by journalists annoys me almost as much as their ignorant misuse of “inflection point”.

Sequoia’s Shaun Maguire is claiming that Hunter Biden still owes them 300k in back rent for a house in Venice, California back in 2019-2020 on X.
