Rosh Hashana begins tonight
Jewish holidays begin at sundown and end at sundown, and tonight is the start of Rosh Hashana, which is the Jewish New Year. It couldn’t come at a more appropriate time.
Out with the horror of last year, in with new beginnings and new hope.

(Michael K, some Catholic friends and I pretended to be interested in converting to the Baptist faith because we heard a Minister would let us play basketball on his church’s lit, indoor court (a big deal in Chicago’s long winters) if we’d listen to him preach for a few minutes after every game.)
