Nicole Shanahan has made quite a video — 14 Comments

  1. (Shanahan is/was RFK Jr.’s running mate in his now-suspended Presidential campaign.)

It amazes/disgusts me that the Republican side, with all their money and “experts”, have never come even remotely close to hitting the nail /this/ squarely on the head, as Nicole Shanahan’s people do in this two-minute video.

  2. Nicole is one of us now. The patriotic thinking world is all MAGA from sea to shining sea.

  3. “ This is an effective video:”

It works for me but, Neo, do you think it might work with your leftist friends and acquaintances?

  4. It might not work on leftists, Bob Wilson, but she’s aiming at the independents and undecided.

  5. Bob Wilson:

    I second what Kate wrote.

By the way, most of my Democrat friends aren’t leftists, although a few are. But they’re not undecideds, either, so they’re not the audience for the ad.

  6. Gold Star family members are currently individually posting responses to this Kamala Harris Xpost:

As Vice President, I have had the privilege of visiting Arlington National Cemetery several times. It is a solemn place; a place where we come together to honor American heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service of this nation.

It is not a place for politics.

And yet, as was reported this week, Donald Trump’s team chose to film a video there, resulting in an altercation with cemetery staff. Let me be clear: the former president disrespected sacred ground, all for the sake of a political stunt.

This is nothing new from Donald Trump. This is a man who has called our fallen service members “suckers” and “losers” and disparaged Medal of Honor recipients.

A man who, during a previous visit to the cemetery, reportedly said of fallen service members, “I don’t get it. What was in it for them?”

This is a man who is unable to comprehend anything other than service to himself.

If there is one thing on which we as Americans can all agree, it is that our veterans, military families, and service members should be honored, never disparaged, and treated with nothing less than our highest respect and gratitude.

And it is my belief that someone who cannot meet this simple, sacred duty should never again stand behind the seal of the President of the United States of America.

I will always honor the service and sacrifice of all of America’s fallen heroes, who made the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of our beloved nation and our cherished freedoms. I mourn them and salute them. And I will never politicize them.

One after another these bereaved family members excoriate Harris and Biden. It is painful to watch. I’ll leave a link to Trump’s X account where anyone can view the short videos, one after another, which I urge be done: https://x.com/realDonaldTrump?

    –Kate

    Quite so.

IMO a frontal assault on hard-core Democrats for TDS is a dubious strategy. That’s an identity issue and such an attack will be rejected automatically.

It takes delicacy to reach such people. One must establish some degree of trust and credibility first, before even barely questioning identity.

Or they must already be doubting. Which is where the independents and undecideds basically are.

  8. A prime example of an effective attack on a D presidential candidate was Dukakis in 1988.

Some R ads against Dukakis on the death penalty and being weak on defense were hitting home, so the Dukakis campaign arranged a photo op of Dukakis riding a tank and wearing a helmet so he looked like Rocky the Flying Squirrel.

I guess it’s still being debated, but that seemed to sink the Dukakis campaign.

The best ads IMO work with images which sneak around verbal defenses.

Or immediate questions like “Are you better today than four years ago?”

  9. Great, great ad. Extremely well done!

Cleverly engineered to reach precisely the people who need to be reached, who can be reached.

This is a very good sign.

The Green Party is also very cheesed off at Democrats’ lawfare to get them off ballots. And Brett Weinstein and some other folks tried to do a third party movement that also met with aggressive opposition from Democrat lawfare. Hopefully all of these movements will join forces with Nicole and RFK, Jr. to wake independents up to the vile hegemony that is the DNC.

  10. I have a childhood friend who was super into Democrat politics as a kid and went on to make a career working on Democrat campaigns. He’s even been profiled in the NYT.

I found the conversations we had after Biden’s disastrous debate interesting. He was very concerned that, should Biden step aside and Harris get the slot, the rank and file Democrats who put blood, sweat and tears into the primaries and Biden’s campaign would feel jilted. This friend was very senior in Bernie’s campaign, when Biden and the DNC shiv’ed Bernie.

Due to his literal, lifelong love of the Democrat Party (so much so that he devoted his education and career to working for the party) I always assumed he could never have the scales removed from his eyes to see the truth. Yet… Two Presidential campaigns in a row where the Party completely ignored the will of the DNC primary electorate seems to be causing him to think more deeply about what is going on.

So never give up hope. An ad like this can make a difference.

  11. The GOP could never release such an ad, but Shanahan can. Gotta get Tulsi doing slam shots too.
