Meanwhile, RFK Jr. … — 7 Comments

  1. I thought this strange. RFK was on Cavuto recently and either he or Cavuto said he cut more into Trump’s votes than Kamala.
It must have been Trump– because Cavuto had him on for an extended interview– though he never asked him any policy questions as I remember it.
If it were true he hurt Trump more, there is no way they would have taken him off the ballot.

  2. The article is inaccurate in referring to the NY Supreme Court as the state’s “high court.” While it is confusing to nonlawyers and even lawyers from other states, the NY Supreme Court is the state’s highest level court of first instance — in other words, a trial court. There are two levels of appeal above it — the Appellate Division of Supreme Court and, after that, the Court of Appeals. It is the Court of Appeals that is actually NY’s “high court.” So the ruling potentially could be overturned on appeal, though I would not bet on it.

  3. Blue states want him off the ballot so he doesn’t cut any votes off of (Obama)/Harris/Walz.

Red-ish states will keep him on hoping he’ll take votes from Trump/Vance.

Yeah…my foil hat is on pretty tight this morning. 😉

  4. …but the left seems to want him off the ballot.

I think RFK Jr. will hurt the left more than right, though I suspect the difference is not all that great.

The left is good at that sort of calculation.

  5. I think this strange:

2024: RFK Jr. lists a fake address on his ballot access petition and New York Democrats knock him off the ballot.

1964: RFK Sr. lists a fake address on his nomination papers and New York Democrats elect him senator.

Possibly RFK Sr. was able to register to vote in NY, but he didn’t actually live there.

  6. Insofar as Demonize Trump is the main Dem Strategy, RFK hurts the Dems in giving a non-Dem non-Trump vote.
