1. Have always thought that about 80% of women supported the DEMs, but looks like my guess was off a lot more than a tad.

   Not something I’ll spend much time looking for if it’s not handy on the first shot, but am seeing like just 53-58% of of women are supporting DEMs. Is that correct or close?

   Still, if that is close, then it is amazing (too me) that women aren’t leaving the DEMs party in droves!?! Males coming in and winning sport championships over women who have spent years of hard work and training. Not to even mention the years that women fought for the right to vote…Jeez.

    How is it that Congress has been allowed to delegate to non-elected agencies its constitutionally mandated obligation as the sole law making body within the federal govt?
    Is congress allowed to pass any law it chooses regarding what it can or cannot do, if it contradicts the US Constitution?

    Now, it may be a futile gesture, but where the F are the republicans in Congress? Why are they not roundly criticizing this new law – and it is a law for all intents and purposes?
    Can they not file a suit with the SCOTUS challenging the DOE’s decision, and more broadly, challenging the ability of any and all federal agencies to make new laws?

    The USA is becoming more and more like the former USSR; the USA now even has their own, home grown Stalinist show trials conducted and/or managed and/or organized by the DOJ; an agency that selectively decides who to pursue and who not to pursue, irrespective of any crimes, or not, committed.

    And just like the former USSR, there is no shortage of individuals ready to do the government’s dirty work.

    Check out online maps of the number of red vs blue counties in the USA; it is not unreasonable to believe that sooner or later those “red” portions of the USA will want out of the former constitutional Republic that is the present day USA.

    Unless your position is that homosexuals are “perverts” by definition (and yes, to some, it certainly is) the issue is that you have a loud, vocal, and obnoxious minority looking to tell everyone else what to do.

    Many gays are only “perverts” by the Gay==perverts definition, they aren’t all bad people, nor are they all obnoxious “dance with me, ’cause I’m gay!” types.

    The overall real issue is that we do NOT make any groups deal with their aberrant types, and we do, somewhat, take my initial statement as excusing ALL gays for the actions of a few.

    The real problem here, is that you need to hold all groups accountable for their aberrant members — this encourages ALL groups to police themselves. This goes true regardless of whether the group is blacks, gays, or Muslims. Or Christians, for that matter.

    For the most part, religious people do this — if someone bombs an abortion clinic or kills employees of one, the fact that someone is Christian as well does not generally mean that they won’t turn that person in if they found out that they did it.

    Because Christians police themselves.

    We need to make this clear, as an ongoing social standard:
    If you don’t like the way WE are policing you, then DO IT YOURSELF, so WE don’t HAVE to do it.

    Unfortunately, this has actually been the case for something in excess of 40 to 50 years.

    It’s not stated that way, but there is a law which states that all a federal agency has to do is publish a proposed “law” in the Federal Register, and, if no one has objected within 90 days, it gains the force of law.

    Yeah, it’s been going on for a very long time. And yes, it strikes me as utterly unconstitutional, given that there is nothing in the Constitution which gives Congress the power to delegate its lawmaking authority.

    But that’s one of the fun parts of our modern federal government — if it ain’t forbidden, it’s allowed.

    This was not the general perception 100 years ago. FDR, I think, was the real first bad actor on this level, though others certainly tried to do shit like this.

    As I have commented before, the last truly GREAT PotUS we had was Grover Cleveland. Yeah, it’s been that long. Every PotUS since then has been standing around either directly expanding Federal power themselves, or sitting idly and allowing it to happen.

    There are a lot of things I like about Teddy, but he’s the one who really got this ball rolling, by creating a host of these alphabet agencies and taking on jobs which have never, ever, been properly in the Federal bailiwick.

You already know: Because a sufficient number of those having the technical status of citizens, or those managing to vote, or able to determine the vote count, prefer, or are satisfied with, it being that way.     I also like you statement about the shape of the cold civil ware we’re experiencing.

    Yes, it’s now the Red States versus the Blue States, and the fundamentalist progressives (actually neo-Marxists) versus the silent majority.

    That pretty well defines what is happening. The neo-Marxists are hard at work trying to destroy what was once a law and order, free market society based on Judea-Christian principles.

    They have a plan. An egalitarian society where everyone gets paid equally by the state and the state controls the means of production. Something like, ah, Cuba, or Zimbabwe, or North Korea. Only, of course, much better. They’ll do it much better. But first they have to destroy this society and culture. That’s why they push racism, transexual mutilation, men in women’s sports, defund the police and anarchy of all kinds. It’s all meant to destroy us from within.
