Republicans pounce on the poor beleaguered FBI
The GOP is on the warpath, and the victim is the FBI.
Why are the Republicans doing this to those agency innocents, fighting for truth, justice, and the American Way? It’s because of Trump, of course:
The attacks on [FBI agent] Piro [mounted by former FBI agents who had been placed on leave], and his angry rebuttal of them, are emblematic of a toxic dynamic that is increasingly central to Republican Party politics. Trump’s supporters — among them, Republicans poised to take over the House next month — have seized on the letter’s accusations and stepped up their assaults on the FBI, seeking to undermine the bureau just as it has assumed the lead in an array of investigations of Trump.
Just as it has assumed the lead. As though it hasn’t had the lead in the persecution of Trump – beginning with the attempted coup involved in the Russiagate lies – for about six years.
You cannot make this stuff up – but The New York Times can.
More:
Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, who will be the Judiciary Committee’s chair next month, has pledged to investigate what he describes as the politicization of the FBI as well as that of the Justice Department. In a taste of what is to come, the committee’s Republican staff released a 1,000-page report last month that asserted that the FBI hierarchy “spied on President Trump’s campaign and ridiculed conservative Americans” and that the “rot within the FBI festers in and proceeds from Washington.’’
What he describes as and what they “asserted.” The implication is that there isn’t necessarily any reality to such charges. Of course, the Times has assiduously avoided covering the truth of assertions like that, which means that a great many of its readers will swallow the idea that what the House is about to do is pure venom and vengeance, motivated by politics and unwarranted by the outrageous facts of what the FBI actually has done.
Also:
The report further accused the agency of “helping Big Tech to censor Americans’ political speech” — a claim that misrepresented the way the FBI has sought for years to curb online disinformation, especially when it comes from foreign actors. Long before the House report or the letter to Wray were released, Trump and his allies in Congress and the news media were already targeting federal law enforcement officers and demonizing those who scrutinized the former president.
Again, if you lie to your readers for so many years, purposely fail to cover things like the Twitter files, and if you’ve been aided and abetted by the rest of the leftist MSM in those endeavors, then your readers will have built an edifice of lies based on your reportage and everything you’re saying now makes perfect sense to them.
Trump and his supporters have gone after the bureau for its role in investigating his campaign’s ties to Russia; for purportedly failing to investigate issues surrounding Hunter Biden’s laptop; and for using informants to infiltrate a group of militiamen charged in a plot to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan.
Somehow the FBI is a victim of “Trump and his supporters.” The coup-like abomination of Russiagate becomes the FBI’s “role in investigating Trump’s campaign ties to Russia.” The FBI’s Hunter laptop coverup and the lies told that it was somehow Russian disinformation when the FBI knew it was real – all of which was designed to hide the truth and to elect Joe Biden – becomes the vague and generalized “purportedly failing to investigate issues surrounding Hunter Biden’s laptop.” And the FBI’s entrapment and leadership in the FBI-devised and FBI-encouraged plot against Whitmer – so very useful because the revelation of this “right-wing extremist plot” in October of 2020 one month prior to the election could also help influence Trump’s defeat – becomes a meaningless and self-serving criticism by the GOP of the FBI’s mere use of informants to catch a bunch of vicious criminals intent on harming the duly elected state governor.

Chris Wray’s Stasi rolls on.
The perennially pouncing Republicans are also none too pleased with all the extra funding, in the monstrosity of an omnibus (approved, in the Senate, by eighteen members of GOPe), not only for the FBI (including a new headquarters), but also for the equally corrupt DOJ to continue its persecution of traditionally-minded conservative Americans, whether mothers at school-board meetings or rational persons bothered by elections clearly neither free nor fear. Not only should the process of impeachment begin next year in the new term against the disastrously dreadful duo of Garland/Mayorkas, but the Stasi-boss Wray should be sent packing as well.
Garbage people paid to lie for the Democratic Party. The head garbage is AG Sulzberger.
Is it strange that internal dissent in the bureaucracy is “emblematic of a toxic dynamic that is increasingly central to Republican Party politics”?
FBI agents and their bosses can’t have disagreements without dragging the Republicans into the picture?
If Trump is the source of all disagreement with the official story doesn’t that make him a national treasure?
The times we live in are truly strange. In my lifetime I’ve seen the Left go from rebelious, anti-authority challengers of mainstream institutions and authorities (speaking truth to power ect.) to strong defenders of established institutions like the FBI and the CIA.
And similarly I’ve seen the Right go from strong institutional supporters who would tend not to question the activities of various authorities to downright rebelious questioners of authority. Who could’ve predicted this?
What gets me is that this purports to be a news report. It is not; it’s an editorial. Evidently people who get their “news” from the NYT never actually get news.

Which is second to none in the media race to smite readers with ‘facts’ which ‘you ought to know’. That’s a very common phrase used by the SeaTimes editorial board, which for several years has been putting on a superb re-enactment of the superior tone of the Commissars of a local Politburo, as they instruct their proletarian comrades in the Party line of the week.
They’re pretty good at extinguishing those comments to their articles which divert from, or nakedly expose that Party line, too. And at permanently banishing those commenters who step across their undefined boundaries of admissible discourse. Where’s Elon when we need him?

This goes a long way to explain why our Democrat friends and relations dismiss any attempt to provide them with the truth.
They simply have no foundation for accepting it.
There has been zero consequences for all of the bad actors at the FBI and far too few willing to stand up and voice discontent with the politicization if the agency. The agent in Daytona is the only one I’m aware of. It’s a shame to see an institution like that turned into political hacks.
The NY Times is staffed by Democrats. It lies constantly. Its primary goal is the acquisition and use of power by Democrats.
The FBI is run by Democrats. It lies, cheats and steals constantly. Its primary goal is the acquisition and use of power by Democrats.
The Democrat party is run by Democrats. It lies, steals and cheats constantly. Its primary goal is the enrichment of Democrat politicians by using the power of the state by Democrats.
Integrity is vital to the success of a nation. Democrats have never been accused of integrity. Democrat voters have never been interested in integrity.
We have to stop pretending that Democrat voters are good people. They aren’t. They hate. Their hatred is how they feel good about themselves. They congratulate themselves and each other because of their hatred and the slanders they spread. They enjoy “othering” innocent people. They relish the opportunity to cancel and destroy others.
Emphasis required — their hatred and their slanders are critical, are foundational, to who they are and why they are Democrats. Hating others is essential to their feelings of moral superiority.
Expose the hate. Demand integrity.
I agree that Times readers have no basis in facts to doubt this kind of stuff because the Times has refused to print anything about the Twitter files. The Media has performed like “Pravda” in the USSR providing the party line and nothing else.
They want you to believe it’s the GOP. However, it’s the whistleblowers (career employees) that are sounding the alarms (on the politically appointed).
Note the consistent references to “Hunter Biden’s laptop”, with no mention of the evidence it presents of Joe Biden’s (and his extended family’s) extensive illegal behavior.

stan:
You think if you keep repeating how awful and evil all Democrat voters are, that makes it so, or that repetition makes your argument more convincing?
Hint: it doesn’t.

Stan’s comments referencing hateful Democrats reminded me of my thoughts earlier today, namely that hate is not the opposite of love. Pure or total ignoring is the opposite of loving. Hating someone or something is a form of attachment or even “affection” for that person or thing. Probably a twisted version of “love”, as you remain invested in that subject, rather than just letting it go.
Perhaps the common preference among many conservatives to leave others alone, and to be left alone and not bothered, in turn, is part of why the Democrats/ Leftists exhibit some of the hate that Stan mentions. A form of “look at MMEEEE!!!” This seems to fit many in the wokerati, or in the racialist industry, at least.
“This is a banana.” *cough*
“The Media has performed like “Pravda” in the USSR providing the party line and nothing else.”
IOW, the Media has been “fortified”.
(AKA “weaponized”.)
