The Biden corruption investigation in Delaware
The Delaware U.S. Attorney’s Office investigating Hunter Biden lacks the wherewithal and resources to adequately probe the dubious financial dealings of the Biden family and their business partners, according to three current or former Department of Justice officials.
“If any single one of the dozens of issues had been alleged about the Bush or Trump families, a special counsel would have been appointed immediately,” said one career official familiar with the probe. “[The Delaware office] needs help. There’s no way it can tackle everything it needs to, even if it tried.” Two other officials also expressed concern about resources available to the investigation, particularly given the political sensitivity and complexity of the underlying issues…
Sources told the Times that a grand jury continues to gather evidence “in a wide-ranging examination” of Biden’s international business dealings, with prosecutors considering charges for tax fraud, criminal foreign lobbying, and money laundering.
It’s a long article by Margot Cleveland, with a lot of information – some of it already discussed on this blog or in articles from periodicals on the right. There’s also this:
Calls for a special counsel have been percolating since April when a group of nearly 100 House Republications wrote Attorney General Merrick Garland to demand he appoint a special counsel to investigate Hunter Biden. “We are concerned that in the case of Hunter Biden the Department has an actual conflict of interest and certainly has the appearance of a conflict of interest that could prevent a fair and impartial investigation of his activities,” the lawmakers wrote, adding, “You were nominated to your position by Hunter Biden’s father and ultimately work for him.”
That’s exactly why it will never happen. Garland isn’t worried about the appearance of a conflict of interest; he’s a partisan party guy and I’m pretty certain that he feels immune to any repercussions, and rightly so. The only way such a special counsel appointment might be made would be if they decide that Joe has to go. But it’s far far more likely that, if and when they decide Joe is a liability as president or as 2024 candidate, that they will threaten to appoint a special counsel in order to get him to voluntarily leave.
The Delaware investigation is in its third year – just another example of how the legal system is inadequate to deal with the problem of a corrupt executive, a party that defends and supports him, and a compliant media that protects him. In addition, I have a feeling that many (perhaps most?) Biden voters don’t care how corrupt he is. He’s doing the left’s bidding, and he’s not Trump, and that’s enough for them.
Which is more probable, some kind of indictment against Trump over the “insurrection” (worse by far, of course, than Pearl Harbor and 9/11) either before or after the Midterms, or any substantial proceeding ever against any member of the “Biden crime family”? One would have to be unusually optimistic indeed to believe that the latter is at all likelier to occur than the former, while the very fate of the republic may well be hanging by the proverbial thread.
A Republican House after the first of the year might bring an impeachment resolution requiring discovery. That, of course, assumes that McCarthy is not in the progs’ pocket.
Neo’s closing paragraph summarizes well why the American Republic is being flushed down the toilet. Biden is not a stupid Chavez; he is a scarecrow, and the real Democrats, communists all, run the show.
He’s doing the left’s bidding, and he’s not Trump, and that’s enough for them.
Such as these do not adequately value the rights of their neighbors.
Nor their own.
They are more interested in having “leadership” composed of Nice People™ that they don’t have to explain to their neighbors, than they are in a government that secures their/your/my rights.
The Democratic Party is a criminal organization. The media, the lawyers of the Department of Justice, and the Democrats on the federal bench are participants in that criminality. Street-level Democrats pretend it isn’t happening.
That, of course, assumes that McCarthy is not in the progs’ pocket.
Don’t think he is. The thing is, he was born in 1965 and has been in the employ of legislative bodies since 1987. He interacts with legislators, legislative staff, lobbyists, campaign consultants, and Frank Luntz. That’s his whole matrix. He’d still have Lizard Cheney as his left-hand ho’ if more perspicacious members of the House Republican caucus (and people who’d conducted polls in Wyoming) hadn’t told him she was toxic. He succeeded Paul Ryan, an open-borders fanatic who wanted Donald Trump impeached over J6. Ryan replaced John Boehner, a lush who thinks Ted Cruz and Jim Jordan are a threat to the Republic. Boehner replaced Dennis Hastert, a man who made millions through real estate purchases informed by inside information on the placement of new road construction and millions more from lobbying. The Republican caucus in Congress is usually led by inadequate people. How did we end up with a crooked hack like Bitc* McConnell as Senate-Republican-Leader-for-Life?
Art, what you describe is an organization that has followed Pournelle’s Iron Law of Bureaucracy to its terminal state.
These professional politicians firmly believe that they are doing their job simply by assuring that their institution runs with civility and lack of disturbance … and severely resent those who dare to think that their job is to secure the rights of the American people, even if that means forsaking that civility and fomenting disturbance to secure those rights.
These professional politicians firmly believe that they are doing their job simply by assuring that their institution runs with civility and lack of disturbance …
That description would be more credible if they’d passed a budget and a set of appropriations bills in the last 15 years, something Congress did routinely prior to 1981. Prior to 1961, they balanced the budget routinely as well.
At last, something that truly is worse than Watergate.
An independent counsel can be used to bury an investigation…
The Durham investigation is a great example of this, along with all the other investigations into RussiaGate.
Nothing to see here people–move along now. So what do we make of this Biden Administration’s “incredible transition” or is it just Part III of the Obama Administration’s “fundamental transformation”?
Shorter take: Joe Biden has been bribed by the CCP.
What did China get in return?
We left Bagram AFB, billions in weapons and all sorts of minerals in Afghanistan.
Biden has done nothing about the CCP’s intentional unleashing of the Wuhan virus on the world.
In a serious country with a legit press and real leaders, Hunter would already be in jail and his father removed from office.
The depth of evil and corruption on the part of Joe Biden is beyond anything we have seen in American history.
