Sussman acquitted
In a move that should surprise absolutely no one, a jury in DC acquitted Hillary Clinton’s campaign lawyer Michael Sussman, who had been accused of lying to the FBI.
The reason this result is no surprise is because the trial was in DC. Washington DC is what you might call a company town – the company being “the Swamp” and in particular the Democratic Party. What’s more, some jury members had ties to people involved in the case (see information at the link), but I think it’s highly likely that any DC jury would have acquitted even without such ties.
The trial had the advantage of spelling out some very bad stuff on the part of Clinton, Sussman, and the FBI, but only for those inclined to pay close attention, which is only a small percentage of the American people. For those on the left, the trial’s outcome will almost undoubtedly be used to claim innocence on the part of those who orchestrated and executed Russiagate.
The law ordinarily cannot save a system so corrupted.
It also occurs to me, and not for the first time, that the only reason the Watergate conspirators were convicted was that they were on the Republican side. In addition, although many had formerly been in the CIA (or in Liddy’s case the FBI), they weren’t working on behalf of those agencies when they perpetrated Watergate. Last but not least, they were guilty of more obvious crimes of the conventional type, and that’s what their convictions were about: burglary, wiretapping, and conspiracy around those things.
The Russiagate conspiracy was far wider, involved members of government agencies working supposedly on behalf of those agencies, was perpetrated by Democrats and others who didn’t like Trump, and didn’t involve the same sort of obvious crimes as Watergate even though Russiagate was far worse and far more dangerous, in my opinion.
ADDENDUM: On today’s open thread I noticed the following from John Tyler in the comments, referring to the Sussman acquittal:
Is it because it is not illegal to create a fictional narrative to slander and destroy a political opponent?
Or is it because, the conspirators are all so versed in the law, they know how and what to do and not be in violation of any laws?
That’s what I was getting at in this post when I compared the Russiagate perps to the Watergate perps. Russiagate was incredibly widespread, sophisticated, and coordinated exercise in which many of the perps were lawyers and knew exactly what they were doing. They never expected to be caught. But in the off chance that they were caught, they knew they almost certainly were safe from conviction for a host of reasons.]
Ah yes, the fruit of the poisoned Durham tree falls as it was fixed to fall.
The funniest and saddest part of the trial was the defense argument that Sussman’s lie did not materially affect the FBI investigation because everybody at the FBI knew who Sussman worked for.
It was indeed no surprise (DC’s “Swamp” being what is), and our much-vaunted judicial system is certainly corrupted, quite possibly beyond all hope of repair, while dozens of J6 defendants continue to languish in unspeakable conditions in DC’s Gitmo. Just a few days ago, not far from the foetid sinkhole which is our dying republic’s capital, a large and very strong young black man (formerly a football player at VaTech) was acquitted of all charges after he savagely beat to death an older gay man (white) following a sordid assignation (Tinder) during which the black man (Etute) was supposedly unaware that his “partner” was actually a man. With several friends in tow, Etute returned to the man’s apartment a few days after the “date” and left shortly thereafter as the man was dying from the pummeling. No-one can possibly believe that our system exists any longer to administer justice; it exists solely to impose the regnant leftist ideology.
1. The Clintons, the Bidens and the Pelosis are all immune. They can commit all the crimes they want in the federal city and they will never be prosecuted much less convicted.
Hillary got away with the dirtiest political trick of all time. If only she’d been prosecuted for her rigged commodities trades all those years ago.
2. When do the riots start?
3. Were the biased jurors not kicked for cause? The judge is just as bad as the jurors.
as my friend clarice feldman (yes that one) noted about the watergate taskforce, they were remarkably reckless, she challenged the appeal of the prosecution of the san diego city manager, name escapes me now who was tangentially connected to watergate, actually the itt deal for the convention, and reversed it,
much in the same way that oliver north, had the lawrence walsh prosecutions reversed. the prosecutor advanced to a partnership and an exec vp at united technologies,
political surveilance like which joffe was involved, campaign financing shirley what was the other grave offense, nixon was charged with,
Martha Stewart, Scooter Libby, and General Michael Flynn were not invited to comment on the acquittal.

Therein lies the rub. A cancer must be expunged from the body or it will destroy that body. The obstacle being that so many of our relatives and friends compose that cancer.
Though that ideological cancer will kill them in time, I fear and suspect that we may allow it to destroy us as well… for that is the intent of the ideology so many blindly follow.
If so, mankind’s last best hope will be erased and for perhaps a millenia or more, a new far darker age will descend upon mankind..
Not only are they safe from convictions, they are safe from the consequences. We will know things are changing when this is no longer the case.
