  1. Is that a crow? The white/black coloring looks like he/she may have a bit of magpie in the family tree. 🙂

  2. RE UFOs—It seems pretty obvious that, from an inception in 1947, the government–the DOD, the Air Force, and perhaps other government agencies–have conducted a deception, disinformation, and harassment campaign designed to label UFOs as illusory, as of no consequence, to discourage witnesses from coming forward, and to label the subject of UFOs and anyone who wants to discuss the subject as crazy.

If you believe as Jacques Vallee and others believe, government agencies have also even staged various phony “Alien” abductions to further muddy the waters. As part of this campaign, some also assert that some government agencies have developed various techniques which can be used to monkey with witness’s consciousness, their perceptions and memories.

If it is true that, by whatever means, such a long term government deception, disinformation, and harassment campaign has been carried on, the question this raises is–what secret can possibly be so important, so monumental in consequence if revealed–that it can justify the money, and effort (not to mention the law breaking) poured into a campaign of government deception, disinformation, and harassment which stretches back over more than two generations?

(Of course, from the evidence of what we have seen revealed over the last several years about the various nefarious activities of our own government, perhaps such a campaign is not so unusual after all, and it can take its place among others. Or perhaps the UFO campaign provided the template for all later campaigns.)

  3. Pelosi has arrived in Taiwan. My tin foil hat thought is that given Biden’s cozy relationship with China, in that 2 hour phone call he made a deal where by sending Pelosi, gives China an excuse to invade. He also then said the US will not defend Taiwan. The next 24 hours are going to be “interesting”.

  4. There’s black-and-white crows; not the same species as the American crow but in the genus Corvus. Some crows in India are gray and black.

My favorite corvids are ravens and Steller’s jays (though the jays are not in Corvus).

  5. Another black eye for the CDC and the FDA: 20 million doses of Jynneos, a smallpox vaccine effective against monkeypox, were allowed to expire over the past 10 years. When the monkeypox epidemic hit the U.S. in May, the Strategic National Stockpile had only 2,400 usable does of the vaccine. Jynneos is made by a small biotech company in Denmark called Bavarian Nordic, which to date has received close to $2 billion to develop and produce the vaccine.

“The limited supply of Jynneos currently available is evidence that a new approach to preparing for biological threats and pandemics is needed, said a former federal official, Dr. Ali S. Khan, who until 2014 ran the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention office that managed the stockpile. ‘I want people to know how poorly this went given the amount of money and resources put into it,’ he said.”

    Details at the link: https://archive.ph/TM3cn

Is there anything that federal agencies can’t screw up, given money and opportunity?

  6. There is an efficient, low-cost method to prevent the spread of monkeypox. Unfortunately, our state and federal governments lack the cojones to pursue it.

  7. I keep coming back to the Pelosi-Taiwan visit. Cui bono? I can’t find a rational reason how this is of benefit to anyone. Is there some kickback for Pelosi and Biden? Do the Ds think it will help them to look tough with China vis-a-vis the midterms? To me, it’s some of the most bizarre behavior from Pelosi and the administration.

  8. That crow’s kinda cute…but that nice young lady needs to get out more.
Oh…shoot…I’m going to say it. Needs a fella. Not right to be that attached to an animal. “Tuck’s best buddy” is not the epitaph any of us are looking for.

  9. Apparently visits to Taiwan by American politicians are commonplace. Gingrich said he went when he was Speaker. If Pelosi’s Asian trip was long-planned, then this current uproar looks like a Communist Chinese effort at intimidation, so it’s good she didn’t fold.

On the other hand, why American legislators need to fly all over the world has never been clear to me.

  10. National Debt to GDP level is over 130%. There was a time when ratios above 100% put the country in questionable territory.

National debt reached $30 trillion this year. It was $8 trillion in 2005 and $16 trillion in 2012.

Interest on the national debt is about $400 billion in 2022. Interest payments will double to $600 billion in a few years and will reach $1 trillion by 2032 (or higher), according to the CBO. Social Security trust fund will be out of money by 2034 (Officially).

Right now tax receipts pay for mandatory programs. Every other program funded by the government is “paid” for with borrowed dollars. The new default for deficit spending is now $1.5 trillion/ year.

The Federal Reserve balance sheet is $9 trillion. The Fed is the largest “purchaser” of treasury products. Is there a limit to the Fed’s purchase of bonds?

The federal budget is in the best of hands?

    Is it time to panic?

  11. Meanwhile back at the ranch, John Danforth in Missouri is working to hand the U.S. Senate seat to the Democrats by bankrolling one of the staff counsel on the J6 committee as a nonpartisan candidate claiming he will caucus with Republicans. Danforth’s a gassy poseur as usual.

  12. A couple interesting items today.

Manchin’s Tax Hike Does Not Touch Amazon’s Biggest Tax Break

According to this, the proposed new corp. minimum tax excludes a number of tax deductions in the tax code, but does not exclude any tax credits. Surprise, surprise; Amazon, the supposed whipping boy of tax dodgers, utilizes mostly tax credits and not the deductions. I am sure Bezos never lost a minute’s sleep over this.
    ______

I saw an NYC restauranteur on business news today who talked about the tremendous difficulties he is having hiring new employees.
The two major problems he is experiencing are:

    1) the most capable employees, the ones he wants, are moving to south Florida because they can make more money (it may be more than just salary pay, but I might have missed the detail) and

    2) the prospective employees are refusing to let go of their unemployment benefits and will work only if their new employer will pay them (illegally) under the table. This employer won’t do this, although he suspects some other restaurants will do this.

  13. @ Miguel – the situation in Argentina is where the Democrats are leading the US by creating a large dependent class who refuse to work because they can make as much or more on welfare, aka bribery for votes.

It’s a dangerous sword to wield, though, because once you hand out a subsidy, you can never take it back without consequences.

Cries for more state money, freedom from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and for President Alberto Fernandez to step down echoed within the angry crowds gathered near the president’s office—Casa Rosada —during the nation’s independence day celebration on July 9.

Since then, scheduled demonstrations have continued, led by professional protest organizers or “piqueteros” demanding the abolition of the proposed subsidy cuts and a wage increase.

“This is madness. What the piqueteros are asking for is madness,” Alvaro Gomez told The Epoch Times.

Gomez has lived and worked in Buenos Aires for more than 15 years and currently is a taxi driver. As the years have passed, he’s watched his country dive deeper into economic chaos.

“I’ve seen five presidents come and go in that time; nothing has improved. Half of our country doesn’t want a job, and the ones that do, don’t want to pay the taxes for the others,” he said.

NOTE: ZH is quoting an article from Epoch Times, which is being harassed by Twitter – is Elon ever going to take over that cesspool?

    https://notthebee.com/article/twitter-is-censoring-every-article-from-the-epoch-times-and-is-refusing-to-tell-the-news-organization-why

  14. The Epoch Times is a counter-Narrative(TM) news organization.
    On EVERY level.

    Truths instead of lies.
    Real journalism.
    Unafraid.
    Undaunted.
    Refuses to be intimidated.
    Christian.
NB: It IS a Falun Gong media organ, which should be taken into account…

Should be absolutely clear why Twitter is censoring them.
