One January 6th defendant’s ordeal may improve soon
This court case is ongoing:
… Lucas Denney, is being held illegally. He was arrested in Texas on December 13, 2021, and brought before a federal magistrate, who ordered him detained without bond on a criminal Complaint. It then took six weeks to transfer him to DC, where he is currently being held. He has not appeared before a federal judge in DC since his arrival, although that will change Monday afternoon as a result of his lawyer seeking his release…
Denney’s case involves two distinct, major screwups. The first is that he was not afforded a Preliminary Hearing, to which he is entitled under the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure and the Constitution. The second is that he has not been indicted by a grand jury within 30 days of his arrest, as required by the federal Speedy Trial Act. Consequently, Denney’s detention has been unlawful since at least late January 2022.
Many of the January 6th defendants have been treated abominably, and I believe this has been done in order to intimidate the right – or perhaps anyone who might want to cross the government.
The judiciary has failed essentially all of the J6 defendants. Even if he is actually released, it sounds like his ordeal is far from over, as the article notes:
.
I think we know which way that will go.
The judiciary has failed essentially all of the J6 defendants.
The judiciary is colluding with prosecutors in these cases. Every last defendant should be pardoned and the dc court shut down.
“I believe this has been done in order to intimidate the right – or perhaps anyone who might want to cross the government.” neo
All they’re doing is deepening a cold, hard anger…
“The judiciary is colluding with prosecutors in these cases. Every last defendant should be pardoned and the dc court shut down.” Art Deco
Well, that’s a start. But one that barely scratches the surface of the consequences they should face.

“Biden” is LAWLESS? Couldn’t give a toss about the law, the Constitution and individual rights?
(With significant, if not total, support from the corrupt media and the liberalati?)
Absolutely shocking! Who would have possibly guessed….
…But I’m being unfair here, since for the “right kind of people”, “he” will bend over backward to uphold the law!
No, that’s not quite right, either. Let’s try again:
“For the “right kind of people”, “he” will BREAK—-“INTERPRET”??—THE LAW…in the other direction…
And, then, just like that, justice is blindingly swift:

File under “Law for the little guy. “
There’s only ONE thing to know about “Biden” and “his” DOJ.
If you’re the wrong person, then they’re essentially STASIs (even if they themselves would never admit it), eagerly looking for, and finding, “creative” ways to justify their despicable decisions and putrid behavior.
…While the corrupt media engages in all kinds of perverse, ethical calisthenics to support and “massage” these illegal outrages—-think Nancy Pelosi’s facial Pilates during the SOTU….
(The same could be said for Trudeau.)
What is it with nobles? They seem to think if they display the majesty of their unlimited power to violate law and God’s law, that the serfs, kulaks, little people will obey.
Instead it just makes them mad, leading eventually to 1789 or 1917, for which we here in America are already overdue.
For anyone objecting to my characterization of anything in the American government as “STASI”, I probably ought to apologize. Profusely….
But before I get around to it, there’s been a flurry of “Back to the USSR” “news”…. Here’s the latest instalment of “American Pravda”:
“Jen Psaki Is A Lying Liar Who Lies: Insane Gas Prices Edition;
“Biden Press Secretary…tried to evade White House responsibility for soaring gas prices Monday, casting blame on turmoil in Ukraine.”—

Somewhere, down in the weeds, live the agents, the lower-level judges.
Their kids go to school with other kids, they shop at the same stores as the rest of us.
I know of two cases where a household is in chronic difficulty due to ill health or dementia. In each case, they have neighbors who are federal agents and who are wonderful.
But not everybody knows that. Eventually, will being introduced as a federal agent or a federal judge at a party result in backs being turned? No cooperation in getting kids to soccer practice?
And that’s if things go well.
Clint Eastwood made a movie about the attempted framing of Richard Jewell. It was not fiction, it was barely fictionalized. Can anybody recall any other immensely popular description of the corruption of a federal agency? One put out as entertainment but serious as hell?
Imagine Eastwood doing a similar piece on Ruby Ridge. I’d suggest Waco but that would be a daunting production, considering the numbers involved and destruction.
When the feds announce the arrest of a criminal of some sort, do you think everybody feels a sense of vicarious triumph over evil? Or do they wonder how many agents and informants it took to get that thing off the ground? Or whether the ATF is back to punching up its numbers by luring low-functioning adults into something illegal.
Child pornography…what’s the cyber equivalent of a throw-down bag of weed?
If a fed, nicely dressed and honest as the day is long, wants to know something about….something or somebody, do you immediately jump on the Dudley Do-Right train and help without the slightest hesitation? Any more?
And this is things going well.

Barry: no objections here to your use of “Stasi” in connection with the police and judicial system in D.C. In fact, I think you’re understating things.
Richard: glad you mentioned Eastwood’s “Richard Jewell”. Two notable things about that movie. The first is that the FBI thug (played by Jon Hamm) who frames Jewell is completely unrepentant even after his machinations are exposed. The second is that Jewell’s lawyer (played by Sam Rockwell) has a Russian secretary, Nadya, who recognizes a secret police op when she sees one. Nadya is played by Nina Arianda. Arianda was born in NYC to Ukrainian parents, who in turn were born in Germany, possibly in a camp for displaced persons (DPs). There were still a few of those open in Germany in the mid- to late 1950s.

The USA has not invaded Ukraine.

Couple of agents got two weeks off after the Jewell caper. Report is that they got a round of applause upon showing up after their timeout. But there remains the question of how much trust and willingness to help have been eroded.

“Tucker: We are at war with Russia”
Tucker Carlson asserts that Poland sending fighter jets to the Ukraine effectively puts NATO at war with Russia. That’s an arguable but debatable assertion. That aside, much of what he argues here is IMO correct.

True they’ve just helped to engineer that invasion.
Tucker: “How much of what you first heard about BLM and Coronavirus turned out in the end to be true? How many of the first stories were true? Not many. It was almost all lies.
But you didn’t know that at the time because you were busy being yelled at. If you dared to point out that actually, all lives matter, they denounced you as a racist. If you expressed concerns about vaccine mandates, of course they called you an anti-vaxxer!
Sound familiar? The pattern never changes.
Hey! Maybe war with Russia is not a good idea for the United States. Say that out loud sometime. It’s not an extreme position, most Americans would agree with you. But you will immediately be denounced as a tool of Putin!
What is this? It’s name calling as a means of social control. The people in charge have decided that their primary job is to decide who you should hate. In an environment like this, everything feels like propaganda and that’s because much of it is…’
Brandon certainly said he really wouldn’t mind a little invasion. Sort of like Ukraine not minding having a little melanoma, or a small aortic aneurysm. But Brandon engineering anything is a stretch.
True they’ve just helped to engineer that invasion.
In your imagination only.
I do have an active imagination. In this specific instance, a number of knowledgeable people share it.
But what of factual circumstance, when dogma promulgated by propagandists reigns supreme in the mind?

Thank you for demonstrating the truth of Tucker’s assertion: “Hey! Maybe war with Russia is not a good idea for the United States. Say that out loud sometime. It’s not an extreme position, most Americans would agree with you. But you will immediately be denounced as a tool of Putin!“
Geoffrey:
Silly me, I thought you were speaking about your vivid imagination and the USA engineering the invasion.
How the story shifts, flights of fancy, it seems.
Good that Vlad has the Brandon junta guiding and engineering Vlad’s legitimate national security concerns.
But given how well Vlad’s excellent adventure is going, maybe that Brandon engineering explains it.

Not Repubs. At a time when Youngkin won in VA by opposing Dem policies, national Repubs are advocating the same policies as Dems. Certainly on J6.

Geoffrey Britain:
Since even Tucker Carlson’s critics are not advocating war with Russia, it seems to me that’s a strawman he’s arguing there.
If he means “economic war,” he should say so.
I only watch him intermittently, but I could have easily predicted his point of view on Ukraine. Over the years I have found Carlson to be fairly good on domestic issues but only so-so and often bad on foreign affairs.
Geoffrey Britain:
Poland is not NATO.
It is a member of NATO.
So Putin gets to dictate not just what NATO does and doesn’t do, but also what Poland does and doesn’t do?
Poland actually has a dog in this fight. Not only was it controlled by the Soviets for ages, but it was invaded at the start of WWII by the USSR acting in concert with Hitler to divide up the spoils. The excuse for the invasion was that eastern Poland was really Russia and needed to be liberated. Then – among other things – the Soviets took about 10,000 Polish military, intellectuals, and arts leaders and murdered them in cold blood.
Some liberation. Also the same m o as presently with Ukraine and Russia in terms of the excuse for the invasion.
Poland also has a border with Ukraine and is receiving hundreds of thousands of refugees (maybe a total of a million soon).
Vlad will have to enter Poland to liberate those “Russians” who were “taken” to Poland against their will! (not)
Just carrying Vlad’s water, he can thank me later. (not)
Just a thought. You think Vlad might be contemplating a nose job and a 2 am disappearance?
