With Biden, is it door number one, two, or three? — 28 Comments

  1. it carefully deliberated and considered the crimes committed against thousands of families separated from their children as an intentional governmental policy

Given that it’s highly likely that many of these supposed “families” weren’t actually families at all, but traffickers and drug smugglers who aquired these children either by purchasing them directly from their real families, or making promises to their families to bring them over the border after their kids, or just flat out kidnapping the children, it beggers belief that this is even a discussion going on at the Justice Department.

  2. Biden also claimed, in his recent meeting with Macron, that he was unaware of all the details concerning the cancelled contract with the French for submarines. Whichever explanation turns out to be true, the sad reality is that our moribund republic is presided over by a senile buffoon who is an object of ridicule both at home and abroad, nor would his replacement (in case of the 25th) be any improvement, and perhaps even worse.

  3. Nonapod:

The ones who are suing probably are bona fide families. The ACLU probably wouldn’t take any cases that didn’t involve actual families because the cases would be too weak and would undermine the suit.

  4. Biden is not “fully briefed”. Sorry, but my mind immediately went to another definition of “briefs”.

  5. Those are the three doors for certain. Each one is about as likely as the other, although I think the lying door is typically a bit more likely.

This man lies with impunity, with gusto and with no sense of restraint. He lies clumsily, tactlessly and angrily. And he has for his entire political career. The obvious cognitive decline certainly hasn’t helped.

For these reasons (and many more), I cannot stomach watching more than a few minutes of this human tragicomedy perform.

  6. I’m with j e and Ackler,

Is an actor who delivers his or her script with feeling a liar? Now Joe isn’t a good actor, but he probably is reading his scripts accurately.

Joe didn’t know about the submarine deal with Australia. Joe is unaware of a DOJ settlement with illegal immigrants. There were at least a half dozen embarrassing developments in the Obama administration that Barack was completely unaware of. And today Democrat “strategists” are fuming because their top bag man failed in his bid for the VA governorship; all because of an embarrassing but “phony” CRT curriculum in the schools.

But don’t jump to any conclusions. Sometimes things slip through the cracks. Apparently, there are lots of miscommunications and even more failures to communicate.

C’mon man. All this sh_t is scripted behind closed doors. Zero transparency and zero accountability is the goal.

  7. Any other person of average intelligence would have given some variation of the “we are looking into that” evasion. Not Joe. He gotta step right in the pile.

  8. How much time do you think previous Presidents spent either studying or being briefed on public policy and Administration initiatives? I’d bet however much time Donald Trump spent on that, Biden spends less.

Can you even imagine what it’s like to try and conduct the fifth or sixth briefing of the day for Biden? Does he even have that many?

    Mike

  9. Once an item like this becomes news, just about any previous president would have asked aides to let him know what was going on. Not Joe.

  10. In both of the above examples — the Australian submarine deal and the payment to migrant families — if he really did not know about them, it is time to call in the senior responsible parties and fire them. seriously, how long can an administration be blind-sided by its own people?

And if he did know about them, which I fully expect, I would expect a response such as fullmoon2 describes: “we are looking into that.”
Biden is clueless, and the world is wising up to that fact.

Belmont Club had a good look at the submarine deal several weeks ago. The short version is that Australia’s need for submarines is for subs that can operate long enough underwater to cruise to the Chinese area of operations and remain there for several weeks (or longer) at a time. Diesel subs (what France was selling) cannot do that, so nuclear subs are the solution. France was not selling nukes; the US was. Australia made the right choice when offered an opportunity to get US nuclear subs. The French offered a poor choice, and the Aussies wised up to that.

  11. neo asks, “With Biden, is it door number one, two, or three?”

    All three.

I suspect he’s briefed once a day, if that. Briefings that are short summaries consisting of bullet points. How much he forgets depends on that particular day. On bad mornings, they cut it short.

If it doesn’t need to be brought to his attention, it isn’t. And, other than public appearences, little is brought to his attention.

He’s a figurehead who they cater to enough to keep him from getting upset with his wife there to reign him in when needed.

Just being President has fulfilled his lifelong ambitions.

  12. “He’s a figurehead who they cater to enough to keep him from getting upset with his wife there to reign him in when needed.”

The autopen takes care of his actual duties. Obama needed a pen and a phone, Biden has cut that down to nada.

  13. Biden’s a crooked idiot, there’s no point in thinking about finer details than that.

The smug, sanctimonious statement by the ACLU really makes me angry. “ President Biden may not have been fully briefed about the actions of his very own Justice Department as it carefully deliberated and considered the crimes committed against thousands of families separated from their children as an intentional governmental policy.”

Crimes, right. They are all here illegally and created the problem themselves. They should be thrown out of the country not given a huge settlement at taxpayer expense. How big will the ACLU’s cut be? Did the Justice Department lawyers collude with them? Who is going to control the money that goes to people who don’t speak the language, have a bank account, and are probably on welfare. Can I bring a lawsuit against the Justice and the ACLU to recover the money?

  14. You know when it’s Number One or Number Two with Biden. Different expressions. Go watch the dinner table scene in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels to get half the picture.

    Oh? Doors issit? Oh well..

  15. On the plus side.. the French got shafted. So there’s still a Boze in Old Church Slavonic.

Random philological gleaning I just picked up researching the above:… The Russian Bohkh and other Slavic cognates for God derive from the same Indo-European root as do Bhagwan / Bhagavad in another more malodorous place.

  16. Made me laugh there, Grandpagrumble! But I guess it depends on what Biden is sporting under his slacks.

  17. I think we’re all forgetting here that, essentially, Joe Biden does NOT have to tell the truth.

Simply because he has Psaki—or the spokesperson du jour—cleaning up after him like a sanitation worker after a parade featuring horses and/or elephants. (Together with the multi-talented, no-job-is-to-big pushbroom core that is the media and info-tech.)

Again: the truth simply does not matter for them because THEY FACE NO CONSEQUENCES for confabulating (i.e., until they do…that is, until reality catches up with them, but even then…).

IOW the truth is, for them, a non sequitur. (Though having said that, it may happen that they do occasionally say things that happen, in fact, to be true.)

This is why they appear to always double, triple and/or quadruple down when caught up in a flagrant falsehood. Moreover, it explains the “curious” response to McAuliffe’s loss in Virginia.

    Remember: Unity! Transparency!!

  18. “…sporting…”

Um, we really should be more careful here and respect the office—even if the person currently in that office is there illegitimately, lies constantly and is merely the figurehead behind which is a politburo-type cabal of scheming, political gangsters with an agenda of subversion and destruction.

And so you—we all—are admonished: May he/she/it who has NOT sinned cast the first adult diaper….

  19. “…garbage” and “not true…”

    Hold on just a moment!
Not one to defend Joe Biden as a rule, but he may in fact NOT have been referring to the “Come-to-America-and-Get-Rich-Super-Quick” (AKA “Fast-Track American Dream”) story in question.

With the language part of his brain in the shape it is currently (along with his severely compromised powers of concentration and thought-“processing” generally), it is entirely possible—nay, probable—that he actually believed he was referring NOT to the illegal-immigrant funding scheme but, instead, to the country he purportedly leads.

  20. My guess with Sundowner is door #2, His brain makes up memories and to him they are what really happened I think.
As say what’s worse, Sundowner contradicting the White House or the White House contradicting Sundowner?
