  1. Excuse me Mr Hawk, but it isn’t duck season but in fact wabbit season. Get with it.

  2. I’ve been binge watching Ozzy Man. I have seldom laughed as hard in my life.

  3. I honestly have no problem with whatever any consenting adult wants to do with any other consenting adult, but am I the only one that thinks it’s odd we have flags hanging from churches, schools and our embassies celebrating specific forms of sexual intercourse? I’m not “proud” to be a heterosexual, never have been. I just am. Whether it’s biology, “born that way,” or a choice; why pride? I honestly don’t get it. Pride in one’s genitals and what one does with them?

I don’t know of a single world religion that celebrates pride over humility. Maybe there is one. I have to admit I’m behind on my Zoarastrian Avesta readings. But I’ll go out on a limb and suggest waving banners celebrating pride in how one has sexual relations is not proscribed in any religion’s texts. Odd so many pastors, priests, rabbis, deacons, vicars… are on board with it.

I’m not the first to notice that the U.S. has been flying pride flags at many of its embassies, but at none of its embassies in Muslim nations. I guess the U.S. government’s pride has its limits. I’m not for flying anything but an American flag at any of our embassies, but if we’re going to fly the Pride flag at some embassies we ought to fly it at every damn embassy we’ve got and not cower to local sentiments. Far too many of our leaders are pusillanimous, pandering cowards.

  4. Andrew Sullivan’s Substack ‘Our Politics and the English Language’
    is fantastic.

  5. Christian college ends program citing gender, sex guidelines

… But representatives from the accrediting body – the Council on Social Work Education …{snip}… said its sexuality and gender language had not changed substantially in a recent draft accreditation, although the language addressing race and inclusion was updated. Council leaders said in a written statement they were concerned Cairn officials had misinterpreted the language, or had based the closure decision on a growing tide of conservative voices opposed to teaching theories reframing the history of race and racism…

Gee, they wanted to ram CRT and 1619 down their throats as a provision for getting a “degree in social work”? WHAT A SURPRISE!!

I can’t imagine how THAT would go over poorly with AAAAnyone…

Social work is a pseudo-profession addled by witless ideology and all such programs should be closed. State licensing boards should be shut down as well. The junior grade mental health tradesmen can be trained in schools of counseling and clinical psychology, the administrators can be trained in schools of public administration, the hospital and nursing home crew can be trained on the job; and the child protective / foster care crew can be recruited from the ranks of police officers, nurses, and junior grade psychologists and then sent for brief cross-training certificates.

Because occupations with weak operational measures of competence tend to attract hollow men and hollow women. (In re the Foreign Service, see Fr. Paul Mankowski’s argument that diplomatic corps have long been collecting pools of homosexuals).

  8. @Rufus @0446:

I’d take my chances with the Russians rather than the Nanooks. What *is* that anyway? Jack London on acid?

  9. @Rufus @0459:

Well that’s restored my faith in Representative Democracy. I’ll stop being a Fascist now. Won’t be nearly so much fun though.

    Unless…

You *do* want your Monorail to Run on Time, don’t you?

On a more prosaic level, and with all due respect to CS Lewis and the rest, how else do you get the Government to pay you to go where the Little Brown Boys are?

The Late Father Paul Mankowski was a proper Jesuit of the Old School. I don’t imagine he got much pleasure from seeing SJ after James Martin’s name. One of the Joys of Twitter before I quit it was seeing Martin get given some stick in comments for being the disgrace that he is.
